New Event, Hoverboard Gameplay, Major Legend Buffs and Weapon Changes
Respawn has rolled out a mid-split patch for Season 27 (Split 2), bringing a new limited-time event, fresh movement mechanics, balance changes for multiple Legends, weapon tuning, and quality-of-life updates.
This patch is not massive in size—but it significantly impacts mobility, ranked play, and legend viability, especially with long-awaited buffs finally landing.
New Limited-Time Event: Joker Mode
The new event launches in Joker Mode, continuing the experimental format seen in previous events.
Hoverboard (New Survival Item)
Every player spawns with a Hoverboard equipped by default.
Key mechanics:
- Double jump
- Wall riding and wall tricks
- Speed boosts when falling from height
- Faster zipline movement
- Directional boost when jumping off ziplines
- Ability to chain tricks for bonus points
- Can ram enemies at high speed:

- Full-speed strafing while sliding
- Taking heavy damage knocks you off the hoverboard

Passive – Swift Mend
- Healing scales with missing HP
- Restores 3–9 HP per second
- Base healing doubled
Tactical – Stim Charge
- Recasting Stim while active applies a second charge
- Second charge:
– Grants Fortified (15% damage reduction)
– Prevents bullet slow
– Allows healing even while taking damage
– Lasts 6 seconds
– Does not cost HP
– Has a 20-second cooldown

Additional Stim buffs:
- Can sprint and use healing items simultaneously
- Reduced cooldown between stim activations (0.7s)

Ultimate – Launch Pad
