Introduction
Several weeks ago, the developers of Warcraft Logs released the Archon Tooltip add-on, enabling players to view ratings and progress of characters in both modern and classic World of Warcraft directly in-game, eliminating the need to visit the website. This new tool faced extensive criticism from the community, primarily due to its significant impact on the social aspect of the game, as it became effortless to discover any character’s achievements and judge or critique its owner.
Initially, users had the standard option to hide their data, but this feature applied to all characters and all records about them, not only in the add-on but also on Warcraft Logs itself. Consequently, its use obscured virtually all possible data from everywhere, as if the characters never existed. This option, of course, has various drawbacks and is not suitable for all players.
Responding to community feedback, the developers recently expanded the tool’s capabilities. Now, players can customize the visibility of each character individually within the add-on, on the website, and other platforms. This feature allows players to conceal characters not intended for public viewing, reducing unwanted attention or criticism.
This option is available in the “Claimed Characters” section of a player’s profile on the Warcraft Logs website.
