Destiny 2 Season of the Lost: Trials of Osiris Guide

Table of contents

Intro

After a break of several weeks, Trials of Osiris returned in Season of the Lost and immediately became the most played Destiny 2 activity to date—an obvious goal for Bungie. The revamped Trials are now more focused on Reputation than just kill streaks. With shorter rounds and rewards that come through progression, players can grind for their desired gear without the frustration of elimination.

Bungie’s Vision for Trials of Osiris

“We want to make Trials more accessible, no matter your skill level or fireteam size.

We want to make Trials more rewarding, whether you’re winning matches or earning reputation with Saint-14.

We want to make Trials more engaging, testing out changes to Elimination and reintroducing Labs to Destiny 2.”

Trials of Osiris Schedule

Trials is a weekly event, running from Friday at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT / 6 PM BST until Tuesday reset. It does not run during:

  • Week 1 of a new Season
  • Raid World First events
  • Iron Banner weeks

Trials Access Requirements

To ensure security and fairness, Trials is no longer free-to-play. Only accounts with the Beyond Light expansion have access.

Matchmaking System and Gameplay Changes

The biggest change in Season of the Lost is the matchmaking system. Players can now queue up solo using Solo Queue mode, making the experience more accessible. Additionally, Freelance Trials (solos only, no pre-made fireteams) will be available through Labs.

Matchmaking Based on Performance

  • Skill-based matchmaking adjusts based on the number of wins and rank achieved that week.
  • No need for a pre-made fireteam—queue solo and play freely.
  • Flawless-or-Bust players are separated from casual grinders, reducing mismatches.

Bungie’s statement: “We believe that card-based matching is very valuable and can add some significant drama at the right time, but it is best when all players participating have the same end goal, or have similar performance characteristics.”

Trials of Osiris Rewards and Reputation System

Unlike before, rewards are now Reputation-based, meaning you can still earn gear without going Flawless. However, a Flawless run still grants an Adept weapon such as Reed’s Regret (Adept Linear Fusion Rifle).

Trials Rewards for Week 2

Rank Reward
Rank 4 Upgrade Module (x2)
Rank 7 Enhancement Prism (x3)
Rank 10 Eye of Sol (Sniper Rifle)
Rank 13 Upgrade Module (x2)
Rank 16 Igneous Hammer (Hand Cannon)
Flawless Reed’s Regret (Adept Stasis Linear Fusion Rifle)

Adept vs. Standard Weapons

  • Adept weapons have slots for special Adept mods.
  • They feature a flashier default design.
  • Can be acquired only via Flawless rewards.

Is Trials of Osiris Now Easier?

Bungie has tried to balance Trials to make it more accessible, but many Destiny 2 veterans believe the matchmaking system still favors well-coordinated teams over solo players. The community remains divided:

  • Some players welcome the changes, believing they make Trials more inclusive.
  • Others argue that Trials should remain a hardcore PvP challenge, and matchmaking shouldn’t cater to casuals.

Regardless, Onlyfarms.gg offers high-quality boosting services, ensuring that whether you’re a solo player or a fireteam, you can achieve Flawless runs effortlessly.
