Introduction
Due to a previous conflict between Activision Blizzard and China’s NetEase, the collaboration between these two companies ended, affecting Chinese players significantly. Many Blizzard games became inaccessible to them, causing them to miss multiple seasons of Diablo III along with various new features. However, with past grievances now resolved and Blizzard reestablishing its partnership with NetEase, Rod Fergusson has joyfully announced the return of Diablo III to China, along with exciting gifts for local players.
Here is everything you need to know about the return of Diablo III in China:
- The game will be launched in a test mode, as a beta, but with the preservation of all progress: developers will transfer past player progress (before the disagreement between the two companies) and will not reset player achievements during testing. The beta will be available on April 16th.
- The game will effectively be in its 34th season.
- Players will have the opportunity to try out previously missed features from the 28th and 29th seasons: the Solo Self Found mode, the Altar of Rites system, Visions of Dread, and more.
- The in-game store for the Chinese region will be enriched with unique sets and boosters at attractive prices, with a limited time to purchase them. However, part of the previous assortment will not be available – it will return in the future.
- Every player logging in will receive a gift of a Xiangshan Bear pet and decorative Moth Wings (the rewards will be issued only after the full release).
- “The return of Diablo III is just the beginning of the return of the Diablo franchise to China. Stay tuned for more news in the near future.”
