How to Defeat
As soon as a raid becomes outdated by a couple of expansions, it catches the attention of transmogrification hunters and collectors. However, even after a raid transitions to the Legacy category, some bosses remain tough nuts to crack. Eonar is still one of those bosses. Blogger SoulSoBreezy has released a short guide to help those who haven’t yet learned how to free Eonar. :cut:
The challenge of this fight lies in the fact that there isn’t a single enemy to focus your damage on and defeat.
Here are the main mechanics to keep in mind:
- Each summoned creature grants a certain number of points when defeated:
- Once 100 points are accumulated, Eonar will cast “Essence of Life“, which will destroy all enemies on the ground.
- After Eonar uses “Essence of Life” 4 times, the encounter will end in victory.
- Periodically, at specific intervals, the Legion ship “Paraxis” will appear in the sky, using “Universal Doom“. If successful, it will destroy Eonar and fail the fight.
- To stop “Paraxis,” a player must teleport to it, defeat enemies, and activate all 4 crystals inside to prevent “Universal Doom” from being cast.
- During the fight, players have access to an additional ability, “Awakening Life“, with a 10-second cooldown. This ability will launch players into the air, allowing them to plan their next move.
Thus, the battle can be failed in two ways – either by allowing the “Paraxis” to complete the cast of “Universal Doom,” or by reaching the point where the Essence of Eonar’s health drops to 0.
So, no special preparation is needed, aside from having a high-level character. In theory, the more mobility your class has, the easier it will be to complete the fight. However, SoulSoBreezy recorded his video as a Death Knight.
To start the fight, speak with Eonar, then use the “wings” from “Awakening of Life” to fly to the platform and the gate through which you entered (the red path). It’s recommended to bind “Awakening of Life” to a hotkey, as you will be using this ability quite frequently during the battle.
Initially, small demons will appear, followed by the Fel-infused Destructor. Thanks to its “Artillery Mode,” it can deal significant damage to Eonar.
After dealing with it, stay on this platform for a while until Eonar’s energy bar fills up to about 75%. Then, soar upwards and head towards the “yellow” platform.
Defeat the Destructor here and continue killing the smaller demons until Eonar’s energy bar is fully filled. This will result in the destruction of all currently active demons.
As soon as Eonar starts using “Life Force,” head down to the platform near Eonar and use the teleportation device to travel to the “Paraxys.”
Once aboard the Paraxys, you need to kill the inquisitor in the center of the room, then click on the four crystals located in the corners of the room.
The ship’s room has two exits – one leads back to the main combat platform, and the other leads “into the void.” You should start disabling the crystals from the side where the “window to the void” is located. This way, once you disable the last crystal, you can quickly and without unnecessary running return to the main fight.
At this stage of the fight, movement-enhancing abilities will be very useful; however, the most helpful will be the “Wings,” which will allow you to almost instantly reach the third crystal.
If you successfully disable the crystals, you can consider the victory in your hands. Eonar, while you were gone, handled the situation well on her own. Her use of “Life Force” destroyed all the demons and fully filled her energy bar, allowing her to use the “Life Force” of the word. And remember, the victory in the battle is achieved after Eonar uses “Life Force” four times.
Once you leave the “Paraxys,” head to the beginning of the purple line, where the Destroyer is already waiting, starting the artillery barrage on Eonar.
After dealing with the Destroyer, simply continue eliminating demons and filling Eonar’s energy bar. You don’t need to go to the “Paraxys” a second time, even if a warning appears stating that it’s necessary – you will finish the fight before Paraxys completes its ability.
