Intro

Dawn of the Infinite is a mega-dungeon introduced in
Dragonflight, which significantly advanced the storyline, hinting at the return of
Xal’atath. Now that players have grown stronger following the adventures in
Kazz Algar, it’s possible to solo Dawn of the Infinite. Popular WoW content creator SoulSoBreezy has released a video guide explaining how to tackle this challenge and why players might want to attempt it.

Why Run Dawn of the Infinite?

First, let’s discuss why players may be interested in revisiting this now-outdated dungeon, especially since it hasn’t yet been categorized as a “legacy” dungeon, where players receive a damage bonus.

The primary motivation is quantum gear. Defeating the final boss of the dungeon rewards you with one quantum cosmetic item:

When used, the quantum item transforms into a random piece of gear from the past that isn’t yet in your collection. These items are account-bound, meaning you won’t receive gear you can’t use. A key detail to note: quantum items can only be used by characters level 70 or below, so you’ll need to transfer them to your alts to unlock these unique transmog appearances. This allows you to obtain rare cosmetics that may have eluded you until now.

Additionally, there’s a small chance that Chrono-Lord Deios will drop the
Reins of the Quantum Courser,
which transforms into a mount you don’t yet own when used.

Challenges of the Dungeon

Most fights don’t involve complex mechanics that require precise strategy; you can generally overpower these bosses with raw force.

Blight of Galakrond

The first boss that you won’t be able to easily overpower is Blight of Galakrond. This boss applies a debuff called Corrosion, which, after a certain amount of time, causes the player to be mind-controlled. When playing solo, this results in an instant end to the battle.
The fight is divided into three phases:
  • Phase 1: This lasts until the boss’s health drops to 80%. During this phase, the boss swallows the player, which cleanses all debuffs. So, you don’t need to worry about the Corrosion or mind control during this time.
  • Phase 2: At 80% health, Phase 2 begins, and the boss automatically removes Corrosion from the player. This phase lasts until the boss’s health drops to 50%. The key here is to transition the boss to Phase 3 within 24 seconds, which means you’ll need a DPS of at least 660k. Save your most powerful abilities for this phase.
  • Phase 3: The goal is to transition to Phase 3 before the Corrosion timer runs out, as failing to do so results in mind control and ends the fight. Once in Phase 3, you’ll need to finish off the boss within 30 seconds. The boss splits into two monsters, sharing a health pool. To succeed, your DPS must be at least 880k.

Blight

Iridikron

The second and final challenging boss is Iridikron. The difficulty here lies in keeping both yourself and Chromie alive during the boss’s Stonecracker Barrage.

This ability sends three projectiles toward Chromie, and the damage must be shared to keep Chromie alive. By default, Chromie can only withstand two hits. You’ll need healing abilities to restore Chromie’s health between the first and third blasts or damage-reduction abilities to mitigate the incoming damage.

Beyond this, focus on dealing damage, especially during Cataclysmic Obliteration, which deals significant damage and lasts as long as Iridikron has energy. Reducing the boss’s energy by dealing damage helps shorten this phase.

Chrono-Lord Deios

Lastly, let’s discuss Chrono-Lord Deios. This boss summons infinity spheres that slowly fall from above. When standing under a sphere, its fall is slowed. If the sphere explodes, it applies a brief debuff to the player, increasing the damage from subsequent explosions. Therefore, you should stand under one sphere to let another one explode. Once the debuff wears off, move away and allow the next sphere to detonate.
Interestingly, SoulSoBreezy managed to survive two explosions at once, so this mechanic isn’t as critical as it may seem.

Conclusion and FAQ
