Scarlet Monastery Heroic Dungeon Guide (WoD 6.1.2)

Intro

The Scarlet Monastery is a 5-man dungeon located in Tirisfal Glades, revamped in Mists of Pandaria to include a level 90 Heroic mode. This dungeon replaces the Graveyard and Cathedral wings of the old Scarlet Monastery and houses three bosses: Thalnos the Soulrender, Brother Korloff, and High Inquisitor Whitemane.

The Scarlet Crusade, a fanatical order obsessed with purging the undead, occupies this stronghold. Their zealotry often leads them to attack the living as well. The dungeon follows a linear progression, leading players through two distinct zones before facing High Inquisitor Whitemane.

3. Quests

Two quests can be completed within Scarlet Monastery:

• Blades of the Anointed – Find the Blade of the Anointed behind Thalnos the Soulrender.
• Unto Dust Thou Shalt Return – Defeat High Inquisitor Whitemane and use the Blades of the Anointed on her corpse.

Rewards from Unto Dust Thou Shalt Return have item level 440.

4. Boss Strategies

4.1. Thalnos the Soulrender

• Raise Fallen Crusader – Raises undead minions that must be killed quickly.
• Summon Empowering Spirits – Interrupt to prevent Empowered Zombie from spawning.
• Achievement: Empowered Spiritualist – Defeat Thalnos the Soulrender with 3 Empowered Zombies alive.

4.2. Brother Korloff

• Blazing Fists – Avoid standing in front of him.
• Firestorm Kick – Move out of his attack zone.
• Scorched Earth – Leaves fire trails at 50% HP; avoid them.
• Achievement: Burning Man – Ignite six training dummies with his fire abilities.

4.3. High Inquisitor Whitemane

• Phase 1: Commander Durand – A basic tank-and-spank fight.
• Phase 2: Whitemane Revives Durand
  • Interrupt Mass Resurrection or risk wiping.
  • Interrupt Heal and Power Word: Shield.
• Achievement: And Stay Dead! – Let Mass Resurrection complete, then defeat all resurrected enemies.
