Key Takeaways
Engineering is a primary crafting profession in WoW Forever, which releases on 4 November 2026. It turns bars, stone and cloth into bombs, goggles, guns, ammo, trinkets and camp objects. The profession ships with 241 recipes, 76 of them new, and 28 of the schematics are bought with Merchant’s Favor. This guide shows where each rank is trained, how the two specializations work and how to take the skill from 1 to 300 with a complete shopping list. All figures come from the beta and may change at launch.
- Skill cap and Artisan: Engineering tops out at 300, and both factions can train Artisan from Buzzek Bracketswing in Gadgetzan, Tanaris, or from Kaylaena Springwhisper in Mount Hyjal.
- Leveling cost: the 1-300 route is roughly 540 crafts using trainer recipes plus three vendor schematics, and Mining covers most of the stone and ore.
- Specializations: Gnomish Engineer and Goblin Engineer open at character level 30 and 200 skill, but the leveling route works fine without either one.
- What is new: SAF-T and EZ-Thro devices such as Schematic: SAF-T Dynamite can be used by anyone, and the Gnome racial Engineering Specialization now cuts device failure by 20% instead of adding 15 skill.
- Merchant’s Favor: 28 schematics are sold for Favor, and Engineering Certification at 1,000 Favor unlocks the account-wide “the Engineer” title.
Treat the numbers as launch-week figures. If a patch changes a recipe, a skill range or a price, the structure of the route below stays the same and only the counts move.
WoW Forever Engineering Overview
Engineering makes devices and wearable gear, goggles and belts included, so it is useful to every class and every armor type. The recipe book spans explosives, guns with their scopes and ammunition, goggles, belts, trinkets that teleport or transform you, and two camp bots. A lot of the older devices can only be operated by someone with Engineering skill, which means the profession must sit on the very character who intends to use them.
Plenty of the profession’s output is also Bind on Pickup, notably the new goggles, belts and bomb satchels. Nobody can buy those pieces for you, so if you want them you need to level the profession yourself. That is worth deciding before you start: if the goggles, belts or satchels are what attracted you, the Engineer is the one who has to be at the workbench, and a friend with the same profession cannot make them for you.
What Changed in WoW Forever Engineering
The headline change is a set of devices that everyone can use, while the classic recipes keep their familiar skill levels. These are the main differences from Classic:
- SAF-T and EZ-Thro devices: a new family of bombs, dynamite and gadgets runs from 25 to 300 skill, opening with Schematic: SAF-T Dynamite and Schematic: SAF-T Copper Bomb. They carry no Engineering requirement, so you can trade or hand them to players with any profession.
- Bomb satchels: Satchel of Copper Bombs, Satchel of Bronze Bombs, Satchel of Iron Bombs and Satchel of Dark Iron Bombs are Bind on Pickup thrown weapons. They use no ammo, and every satchel is built from 20 bombs.
- Gear for every armor type: at 175 skill you can make belts such as Schematic: Clanking Cord for Mail wearers. At 200 skill Cloth, Leather, Mail and Plate goggles open up, and all of them require level 40.
- New ranged gear: Hyper Deluxe Sniper Rifle Mk XVII and SAF-T Ultra Precision Scope are new 300 recipes, joined by the ammo types Swiftfeather Arrow and Swiftstrike Shot.
- Gnome racial: Engineering Specialization no longer hands Gnomes 15 bonus Engineering skill. In its place it lowers the odds of a device failing or backfiring by 20%.
The Tinkerbox and its modules have been removed from the game, so any older guide that still lists them is out of date. Also note that 33 Engineering recipes are still missing from the game files, which is why a few recipe sources further down say they are not listed yet.
Another way to look at the profession is as a trade-off. You pay with a long list of bars and stone, but you get tools that no other profession offers, namely guns, scopes and ammo, plus utility devices that change how a dungeon or a PvP match plays out. If you only want a quick gold profession, read the gold section first and decide with the market in mind.
WoW Forever Engineering Camp Objects
Camp objects are bots and a workbench that you set down beside a Campfire. Every camping feature shares a one-hour cooldown, and unlike the Leatherworking tent or the Tailoring banner these objects give no character buffs. All three are listed here:
| Camp Object | Skill | Recipe Source | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reagent Bot | 20 | Engineering trainer | You and nearby players can buy reagents |
| Repair Bot | 140 | Blueprint: Repair Bot, dropped by Sneed in The Deadmines | Buy reagents and repair gear |
| Anarchist’s Workbench | 300 | Blueprint: Anarchist’s Workbench, source TBA | Crafting station for recipes that require it |
The Reagent Bot asks for just one Handful of Copper Bolts and one Copper Tube, and you will craft both while leveling. A Repair Bot needs two Whirring Bronze Gizmo, one Bronze Tube and one Heavy Leather, but its blueprint drops at only a 0.2% chance.
The Anarchist’s Workbench takes one Essence of Anarchy and two Thorium Widget. A number of the new recipes require this station, among them Gizmo Girdle and Hyper Deluxe Sniper Rifle Mk XVII, and nobody has confirmed where its blueprint comes from.
Camping is unlocked by the quest Camping 101: Engineering. Pick it up from the Strange Hermit in Shadowgale Forest on Zephras Isle; you need to be level 4.
WoW Forever Best Classes for Engineering
Hunters and Rogues come out ahead, because the profession hands them the most tools built around their kit. Here is what each group takes away:
- Hunter: Engineers are the only crafters of guns, scopes and ammo. On top of that, Schematic: Compact Critter Carrier produces a device that only Hunters can use to call their stabled pets while grouped.
- Rogue: stealth and escape tools like Schematic: Stealthman 52 and Schematic: Emergency Field Cloak suit the class, giving it extra ways to dodge or leave a fight. Schematic: Loot-A-Rang makes a device that pulls loot from a nearby corpse, so a Rogue skips the walk back.
- Warrior and Paladin: Schematic: Dented Goggles are Plate goggles, and bombs and grenades give these melee classes a ranged stun.
- Casters: Mages, Warlocks and Priests can wear Spellpower Goggles Xtreme Plus or Bloodvine Goggles, and Schematic: Floppy Goggles adds a Cloth option at 200.
Druids and Shamans get the Leather and Mail versions of the new goggles and belts, so they also end up with crafted gear to wear. Beyond that, every class can use the new SAF-T and EZ-Thro devices for crowd control in dungeons and PvP.
Note: Class fit is about convenience, not a rule. Any character can level Engineering, and the Gnome racial no longer changes how fast you do it.
How to Learn Engineering in WoW Forever
You learn Engineering from a trainer in any Alliance or Horde capital that has an engineering district. The Apprentice rank is also taught in a few starting areas and in Ratchet. A trainer who teaches a higher rank covers the lower ones too, with two exceptions: Expert is trained only in Ironforge and Orgrimmar, and Artisan only in Gadgetzan and Mount Hyjal.
WoW Forever Engineering Ranks
Each rank lifts your skill cap by 75 points, and every rank after Apprentice demands both skill and character level. You may train the next rank before you hit your current cap, so go to the trainer the moment you qualify. Ranks and their costs:
| Rank | Max Skill | Requirement | Training Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apprentice | 75 | No skill or level requirement | 10 copper |
| Journeyman | 150 | 50 skill, level 10 | 5 silver |
| Expert | 225 | 125 skill, level 20 | 50 silver |
| Artisan | 300 | 200 skill, level 35 | 5 gold |
Training early costs you nothing extra and prevents the annoying moment where a perfectly good recipe cannot be crafted because the next rank was not learned. Make a trainer visit part of every stop in town.
WoW Forever Engineering Trainers
Apprentice and Journeyman trainers are spread over several towns, while Expert and Artisan have far fewer places to learn. This table shows where each rank is taught:
| Rank | Alliance | Horde | Both Factions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apprentice | Sprite Jumpsprocket (Stormwind City), Jemma Quikswitch (Ironforge), Bronk Guzzlegear (Dun Morogh), Deek Fizzlebizz (Loch Modan), Jenna Lemkenilli (Auberdine, Darkshore) | Thund (Orgrimmar), Graham Van Talen (Undercity), Mukdrak (Razor Hill, Durotar), Twizwick Sprocketgrind (Mulgore) | Tinkerwiz (Ratchet, The Barrens), Strange Hermit (Zephras Isle) |
| Journeyman | Lilliam Sparkspindle (Stormwind City), Trixie Quikswitch (Ironforge), Finbus Geargrind (Darkshire, Duskwood) | Nogg (Orgrimmar), Franklin Lloyd (Undercity) | None |
| Expert | Springspindle Fizzlegear (Ironforge) | Roxxik (Orgrimmar) | None |
| Artisan | None | None | Buzzek Bracketswing (Gadgetzan, Tanaris), Kaylaena Springwhisper (Mount Hyjal) |
Both Expert trainers stand inside the engineering districts of their capitals: Springspindle Fizzlegear in Tinker Town, and Roxxik right beside Nogg in the Valley of Honor. For Artisan you can head to Buzzek Bracketswing in the neutral town of Gadgetzan, or to Kaylaena Springwhisper of the Cenarion Circle in Mount Hyjal. Either one teaches Engineers of both factions, so choose whichever is closer to where you are already questing.
Artisan also asks for a level 35 character, and the area around Gadgetzan is full of level 40+ enemies. If your Engineer is nowhere near that level, our WoW Forever powerleveling can bring the character up while you concentrate on mining and crafting.
WoW Forever Engineering Specializations
The two paths are Gnomish Engineer and Goblin Engineer. Both unlock at character level 30 and 200 Engineering skill, each begins with a short quest chain from a specialization trainer, and you can belong to only one at a time. The quest data currently matches Classic, but the way specializations are changed in WoW Forever has not been confirmed. Requirements and examples:
| Specialization | Quest NPC | Quest Items | Example Recipes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gnomish Engineer | Tinkmaster Overspark (Ironforge, Alliance), Oglethorpe Obnoticus (Booty Bay, Stranglethorn Vale, Horde) | 6 Mithril Tube, 1 Accurate Scope, 2 Advanced Target Dummy | Gnomish Battle Chicken, Gnomish Mind Control Cap, Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan |
| Goblin Engineer | Nixx Sprocketspring (Gadgetzan, Tanaris) | 20 Big Iron Bomb, 20 Solid Dynamite, 5 Explosive Sheep | Goblin Rocket Helmet, Goblin Jumper Cables XL, Dimensional Ripper – Everlook |
The final quest in each chain rewards a Gnome Engineer Membership Card or a Goblin Engineer Membership Card, and that card is what opens the specialization schematics. It lasts 14 days, and the renewal quest costs 2 gold. Goblin Engineers can alternatively train with Melbin Powderfuse in Powderfuse Port, Riverglades.
In practice, Gnomish Engineering suits you if you like utility and teleports, while Goblin Engineering leans on explosives and the out-of-combat resurrection from Goblin Jumper Cables XL. What it costs to switch between the two has not been announced yet. Because of that, the safe approach is to level to 200 first, read what the beta notes say at that point, and then pick the path whose example recipes you actually want to carry.
Warning: The quest items are big: 20 Big Iron Bombs and 20 Solid Dynamite for the Goblin chain, or 6 Mithril Tubes and 2 Advanced Target Dummies for the Gnomish one. Do not commit to a path until you have the materials and have read the latest beta notes on switching.
Best Professions to Pair with Engineering in WoW Forever
Mining is the best partner, because almost every recipe eats metal bars or stone. The complete leveling route alone consumes 240 Solid Stone and 162 Thorium Bar, and a Miner can collect all of it while leveling the character. This is how the other professions fit:
| Profession | Why It Fits Engineering |
|---|---|
| Mining | Supplies ore, bars and stone for blasting powders, parts and the entire leveling route |
| Blacksmithing | Uses the same bars and suits Plate and Mail wearers who also want crafted armor |
| Alchemy | Makes Frost Oil for Ice Deflector, plus other reagents Alchemists can supply |
Mining provides the bars and stone that nearly every Engineering recipe uses. Blacksmithing works best on a second character who already has a Miner feeding it bars. The Gnome racial reduces failure only when you use devices, so every race levels Engineering at the same pace. If you would rather skip the digging, our Mining service raises that profession for you, so the ore supply is ready when you start crafting.
In short, pick Mining first, and add Blacksmithing or Alchemy only if you have a clear reason, such as wanting crafted Plate or having a friend who brews Frost Oil.
If you would rather gather herbs for gold than ore, our WoW Forever herbalism guide covers that route.
Making Gold with Engineering in WoW Forever
Engineering income rests on Bind on Equip gear, SAF-T devices and recipes that other crafters depend on. The best example is the Salt Shaker: Leatherworkers use it to make Refined Deeprock Salt, and only an Engineer with 250 skill can craft it.
The new SAF-T and EZ-Thro items have no Engineering requirement, so every player who wants a stun or an escape tool is a potential customer. Bind on Equip pieces such as Master Engineer’s Goggles, Bloodvine Goggles and Arcanite Dragonling sell too, although most of those recipes come from drops.
Keep in mind that the market is narrow, because the new goggles, belts, satchels and ammo are Bind on Pickup and cannot be traded. Before you craft anything, compare the price of a finished device with what its Thorium Bar and Mithril Bar are worth on your server. If you would like to buy schematics and materials without farming first, you can get WoW Forever gold from our team.
Tip: Sell the product only when the finished device beats the raw bars on your realm. If bars are worth more, sell the bars and skip the craft.
For a wider comparison of gold methods, see our WoW Forever gold guide.
WoW Forever Engineering Profession Leveling
Going from 1 to 300 takes around 540 crafts with this route, though the exact total depends on how kind the skill-up rolls are. An orange recipe always gives a skill point, a yellow one often does, and a green one only rarely. Most steps need a Blacksmith Hammer, which trade supply vendors sell, and from 95 skill you will also want an Arclight Spanner.
A practical way to run it is to farm or buy in batches that match the table below, then craft a whole range in one sitting. That keeps you from walking back to the bank for a single missing bar halfway through a skill range, and it lets you see early if some material, such as Silver Bar, is going to hold you up.
The route contains no specialization recipes, so you can follow it as a Gnomish Engineer, a Goblin Engineer or with no specialization at all. The recipe counts here are beta figures and can shift at launch.
WoW Forever Engineering Materials List
Most of what you need is ore, bars and stone, with cloth and a few vendor items making up the rest. Weak Flux and Nightcrawlers are sold by trade supply vendors, and Frost Oil is made by Alchemists. Total materials for the whole route:
| Material | 1-150 | 150-300 | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rough Stone | 33 | – | Mining |
| Coarse Stone | 46 | – | Mining |
| Heavy Stone | 14 | – | Mining |
| Solid Stone | – | 240 | Mining |
| Dense Stone | – | 30 | Mining |
| Copper Bar | 126 | – | Mining |
| Silver Bar | 5 | – | Mining |
| Bronze Bar | 52 | 28 | Mining (Copper and Tin) |
| Iron Bar | – | 12 | Mining |
| Mithril Bar | – | 120 | Mining |
| Thorium Bar | – | 162 | Mining |
| Linen Cloth | 28 | – | Humanoid drops |
| Wool Cloth | 21 | – | Humanoid drops |
| Silk Cloth | – | 12 | Humanoid drops |
| Mageweave Cloth | – | 13 | Humanoid drops |
| Runecloth | – | 28 | Humanoid drops |
| Medium Leather | 5 | – | Skinning |
| Weak Flux | 26 | – | Vendor |
| Nightcrawlers | – | 14 | Vendor |
| Frost Oil | – | 15 | Alchemy |
These are average amounts, so plan to gather or buy about 10% extra. The route also feeds its own parts back in as reagents: Handful of Copper Bolts, Coarse Blasting Powder, Heavy Blasting Powder, Whirring Bronze Gizmo and Solid Blasting Powder are all used in later steps, so keep them in your bags instead of selling them.
Collecting more than 800 bars and stones takes a long time without a Miner. As a shortcut, our Profession Kits come with the full set of materials for a crafting profession plus a step-by-step crafting guide for reaching 300.
WoW Forever Engineering 1-75
The first stretch runs on Copper and the first stone you mine. Every recipe in it is either known from the start or taught by an Apprentice trainer. The route for the first 75 points:
| Skill | Recipe | Crafts | Reagents | Recipe Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1-30 | Rough Blasting Powder | ~33 | Rough Stone (1) | Known |
| 30-59 | Handful of Copper Bolts | ~50 | Copper Bar (1) | Trainer |
| 50+ | Arclight Spanner | 1 | Copper Bar (6) | Trainer |
| 59-75 | Copper Tube | ~16 | Copper Bar (2), Weak Flux (1) | Trainer |
The next range consumes 48 Handfuls of Copper Bolts, for Copper Modulators and Practice Locks. Each craft yields one, so hold on to at least 48 of the 50 you make and keep the spare two. Make the Arclight Spanner as soon as you reach 50 skill, because later parts need it as a tool. To continue past 75, train Journeyman Engineering at 50 skill and level 10.
WoW Forever Engineering 75-150
This is the longest list of recipes on the route, since it moves from Copper parts up to Bronze gizmos. The recipes for this range:
| Skill | Recipe | Crafts | Reagents | Recipe Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 75-95 | Coarse Blasting Powder | ~46 | Coarse Stone (1) | Trainer |
| 95-106 | Copper Modulator | ~14 | Handful of Copper Bolts (2), Copper Bar (1), Linen Cloth (2) | Trainer |
| 106-111 | Silver Contact | 5 | Silver Bar (1) | Trainer |
| 111-120 | Practice Lock | ~10 | Bronze Bar (1), Handful of Copper Bolts (2), Weak Flux (1) | Trainer |
| 120-125 | Large Copper Bomb | ~8 | Copper Bar (3), Coarse Blasting Powder (4), Silver Contact (1) | Trainer |
| 125-135 | Heavy Blasting Powder | ~14 | Heavy Stone (1) | Trainer |
| 135-146 | Whirring Bronze Gizmo | ~16 | Bronze Bar (2), Wool Cloth (1) | Trainer |
| 146-150 | Bronze Framework | ~5 | Bronze Bar (2), Medium Leather (1), Wool Cloth (1) | Trainer |
Every Coarse Blasting Powder from the first step is used again later: 32 go into Large Copper Bomb and 14 more into Aquadynamic Fish Attractor. A single Silver Contact craft produces five contacts, so five crafts give you 25, yet this route needs only eight of them for the Large Copper Bombs.
Bronze Bar is smelted by Miners from Copper and Tin, while Silver Bar is the hardest material in this range because Silver Veins are rare. Set aside 15 of your Whirring Bronze Gizmo for Ice Deflector in the next range, and train Expert Engineering at 125 skill and level 20.
WoW Forever Engineering 150-225
This range holds the only vendor schematic before Artisan and a long block of Solid Blasting Powder. The route:
| Skill | Recipe | Crafts | Reagents | Recipe Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 150-160 | Aquadynamic Fish Attractor | ~14 | Bronze Bar (2), Nightcrawlers (1), Coarse Blasting Powder (1) | Trainer |
| 160-175 | Ice Deflector | 15 | Whirring Bronze Gizmo (1), Frost Oil (1) | Schematic: Ice Deflector, Rizz Loosebolt (Alterac Mountains) |
| 175-195 | Solid Blasting Powder | 120 | Solid Stone (2) | Trainer |
| 195-200 | Iron Grenade | ~12 | Iron Bar (1), Heavy Blasting Powder (1), Silk Cloth (1) | Trainer |
| 200-210 | Mechanical Repair Kit | ~13 | Mithril Bar (1), Mageweave Cloth (1), Solid Blasting Powder (1) | Trainer |
| 210-225 | Hi-Impact Mithril Slugs | ~19 | Mithril Bar (1), Solid Blasting Powder (1) | Trainer |
Solid Blasting Powder turns green at 185 Engineering and gray at 195, so past that point it cannot raise your skill. Most of the 120 crafts therefore exist to stock reagents for later recipes, not to add skill points. The other powders you make along the way also serve as reagents for every step up to 262, so none of them goes to waste.
In other words, this range is more about stocking up than about the skill number on the screen, so do not be alarmed if the progress feels slow around 185 to 195. The rest of the work is built on this powder, and it is cheaper to make it yourself from stone than to chase it on the market later.
Crafting all the powder now means you never have to go back to the Auction House for more. Schematic: Ice Deflector is sold by Rizz Loosebolt in the Alterac Mountains, a level 27-39 zone, so low-level characters should bring a friend.
Gnomish Engineers can use their own recipes near 200 skill, but the trainer route above gives the same result with no specialization. Train Artisan Engineering at 200 skill and level 35, before you reach 225.
WoW Forever Engineering 225-300
The last 75 points depend on Mithril ammo, Dense Stone and Thorium parts, and the final two recipes come from vendors. The route:
| Skill | Recipe | Crafts | Reagents | Recipe Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 225-245 | Hi-Impact Mithril Slugs | ~62 | Mithril Bar (1), Solid Blasting Powder (1) | Trainer |
| 245-250 | Mithril Gyro-Shot | ~6 | Mithril Bar (2), Solid Blasting Powder (2) | Trainer |
| 250-258 | Dense Blasting Powder | ~15 | Dense Stone (2) | Trainer |
| 258-262 | Mithril Gyro-Shot | ~7 | Mithril Bar (2), Solid Blasting Powder (2) | Trainer |
| 262-288 | Thorium Widget | ~28 | Thorium Bar (3), Runecloth (1) | Schematic: Thorium Widget, Gearcutter Cogspinner (Ironforge) or Sovik (Orgrimmar) |
| 288-300 | Thorium Tube | ~13 | Thorium Bar (6) | Schematic: Thorium Tube, Xizzer Fizzbolt (Everlook, Winterspring), Kor’gar in Riverglades |
Each craft of Hi-Impact Mithril Slugs produces 200 bullets, so Hunters who use guns can keep the leftovers or sell them. Schematic: Thorium Tube is Bind on Pickup, which means every Engineer has to make the trip to Everlook to buy it. The two Thorium steps alone swallow 162 Thorium Bar, more than any other bar on the route.
A final planning note: the last two recipes are the most expensive part of the route in bars, and the schematic for the Tube is Bind on Pickup, so plan the trip to Everlook before you gather the Thorium. Arriving with the bars but without the schematic wastes a round trip.
If you would rather not grind it yourself, our Engineering boost raises the skill from where you are to the level you need, up to 300, with the trainer schematics learned and any leftover parts left in your bags.
WoW Forever Best Engineering Recipes
The recipes worth the most are trinkets, goggles and group utility devices, since they stay relevant at level 60 and most have no crafted alternative. Many of the sources are drops, so check where each one comes from before you plan your farming, and treat anything marked as unconfirmed as a bonus rather than a plan. The most valuable recipes:
- Trinkets: Arcanite Dragonling is a 300 trinket that summons a dragonling to fight for you for one minute. Its schematic drops from Cobalt Mageweaver, and the craft also needs a Mithril Mechanical Dragonling, six Thorium Widget and ten Enchanted Thorium Bars.
- Group utility: Field Repair Bot 74A repairs gear and buys unwanted goods for ten minutes, which pays off in long dungeons. In Classic its schematic is found near Golem Lord Argelmach in Blackrock Depths; whether it sits in the same place in WoW Forever has not been confirmed.
- Goggles: Master Engineer’s Goggles at 290 and Bloodvine Goggles at 300 are the top Engineering helms, and Spellpower Goggles Xtreme Plus gives casters a strong option from 270.
- Ranged weapons: Hyper Deluxe Sniper Rifle Mk XVII and SAF-T Ultra Precision Scope give Hunters a new rifle and a scope with a 2% critical strike chance, though neither source is known yet.
- Specialization recipes: Goblin Engineers get Goblin Jumper Cables XL and Goblin Rocket Helmet, while Gnomish Engineers get Gnomish Battle Chicken and Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan.
Both teleport devices share a four-hour cooldown. Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan takes Gnomish Engineers to Tanaris, and Dimensional Ripper – Everlook takes Goblin Engineers to Winterspring.
WoW Forever Merchant’s Favor Engineering Recipes
The Favor-priced recipes are sold by Fritz Fizzle of the Azeroth Commerce Authority in Three Corners, Redridge Mountains. Horde players buy them from Fizzlefuse of Durotar Supply and Logistics, outside the Crossroads in The Barrens. What you pay, and the reputation you need, scale with the skill level of the schematic:
| Merchant’s Favor | Reputation | Skill | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| 45 | None | 25-145 | Schematic: SAF-T Dynamite, Schematic: Satchel of Copper Bombs, Schematic: EZ-Thro Copper Bomb XL |
| 180 | Friendly | 165-200 | Schematic: Clanking Cord, Schematic: Gizmo Girdle, Schematic: Stuckbutton Goggles |
| 270 | Honored | 225-285 | Schematic: Emergency Field Cloak, Schematic: Gnomish Army Knife, Schematic: Loot-A-Rang |
| 360 | Honored | 300 | Schematic: Stealthman 52, Schematic: Ultralight Goblin Glider, Schematic: Gnomish Poultryizer |
| 1,000 | None | 300 | Engineering Certification |
The 45 Favor tier asks for no reputation, so you can begin buying SAF-T schematics at 25 skill. Prices run from 45 to 360 Favor, and the 180 tier includes goggles for all four armor types as well as belts for Cloth, Leather and Mail. Schematic: Ultrasafe Rechargeable Battery costs 360 Favor and restores three charges to SAF-T and EZ-Thro devices, which makes it handy for anyone leaning on those tools.
A sensible order is to buy the cheap SAF-T schematics while you level, since they need no reputation, and save for the 360 tier once you hold 300 skill. The title item at 1,000 Favor is purely a trophy, so it can wait. Remember that the Favor prices are beta numbers, so confirm them at the vendor after launch before you save up for a specific schematic.
Engineering Legacy Perks in WoW Forever
Legacy perks speed up skill gains and camp use, and Engineering also feeds the Legacy Points system through three challenges. You earn one point each for reaching 150, 225 and 300 Engineering for the first time on your account, so a single Artisan Engineer collects three Legacy Points. These are the perks that affect the profession:
- Working Overtime: raises the chance to gain a skill point from any primary, secondary or class tradeskill by 4% per rank, so all 5 ranks give 20%.
- Dedicated Study: adds 1 skill point to your lowest primary or secondary profession once every 23 hours.
- Performance Bonus: each of its 3 ranks adds a 5% chance to receive double Merchant’s Favor, which eases the cost of the expensive schematics above.
- Field Guide: its 3 ranks cut the cooldown for adding camp features by 8%, 17% and 25%. At rank 3 that removes 15 minutes from the one-hour cooldown.
- Reagent Economy: class abilities no longer need vendor reagents, and Tier 1 camp objects such as the Reagent Bot cost no reagents to craft.
To sum up, Engineering is a good pick if you want utility devices, goggles for any armor type and the only crafted guns and ammo in the game. Pair it with Mining, because the leveling route needs more than 800 bars and stones. At 200 skill you choose between Gnomish and Goblin Engineering, and each path opens its own trinkets and teleports. Once you reach 300, you can start saving Merchant’s Favor for the 360 schematics and the Engineer title.
WoW Forever Engineering FAQ
These are the questions players ask most about leveling, trainers, specializations, the Engineer title and gold.
What is the fastest way to level Engineering 1-300 in WoW Forever?
Gather every material first, then follow the trainer route with its three vendor schematics. It comes to around 540 crafts, and Mining saves you most of the time you would otherwise spend buying bars and stone.
What profession should you pair with Engineering in WoW Forever?
Mining, because nearly every recipe uses bars or stone. Blacksmithing is the second choice for Plate and Mail wearers who already have a Miner on another character, and Alchemy helps with Frost Oil for Ice Deflector.
Should you choose Gnomish or Goblin Engineering in WoW Forever?
Pick Gnomish if you want Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan and utility devices, and Goblin if you prefer explosives and Goblin Jumper Cables XL. Both unlock at character level 30 and 200 skill.
Do Gnomes still get +15 Engineering skill in WoW Forever?
No. Their racial Engineering Specialization now lowers the chance of devices failing or backfiring by 20% instead.
Where do you train Artisan Engineering in WoW Forever?
From Buzzek Bracketswing in Gadgetzan, Tanaris, or from Kaylaena Springwhisper in Mount Hyjal. You need 200 skill, a level 35 character and 5 gold.
How do you get the Engineer title in WoW Forever?
Buy Engineering Certification for 1,000 Merchant’s Favor once you have 300 skill. The title is unlocked for your whole account.
Is Engineering good for making gold in WoW Forever?
It can be, but only part of its output is sellable, because many items are Bind on Pickup, so Engineering rewards players who pick their products carefully instead of crafting everything. The Salt Shaker, SAF-T devices and Bind on Equip goggles and trinkets are the items you can actually sell.
