Midnight Jewelcrafting at a Glance
Current as of 12 October 2026 (patch 12.1). Nothing in the 12.1.5 notes for 13 to 14 October touches professions.
Jewelcrafting is one of the four S tier gold professions in Icy Veins’ Season 2 list (updated 11 August), together with Inscription, Tailoring and Alchemy potions. It makes the gems, rings and necklaces most players wear, and in Season 2 it also crafts rings with Sparks of Tides and Mistcrests. Midnight simplified the profession: materials come in two ranks, cutting a gem needs only a gem and Glimmering Gemdust, and prospecting is limited to specific ores.

Midnight Gems and Their Stats
Each color has a single-stat gem for its own stat and three dual-stat cuts. The cut name shows the extra stat: Deadly adds critical strike, Masterful mastery, Quick haste and Versatile versatility. The skill shown is the trainer level from wow-professions.com.

Flawless gems give more stats than the uncommon ones, and Method does not publish values, so read the tooltip. One Flawless recipe per color is learned from the trainer at skill 50; the rest come from the Glamorous Gems specialization. Gem Prisms (4 to 6 Flawless gems each) are also made by that tree.
Eversong Diamonds
These epic meta-style gems drop from Midnight dungeons and give a primary stat. Indecipherable gives the primary stat only. Powerful adds critical strike effectiveness per unique gem color, Telluric adds maximum mana per unique gem color, and Stoic adds a defensive or movement bonus (Method and wow-professions.com disagree on which). Method’s Season 2 rogue guides recommend Indecipherable for the single diamond slot, with the other sockets filled with Flawless Quick Garnet, Flawless Deadly Peridot or Flawless Quick Amethyst. Use Raidbots for your own character.
Prospecting and Crushing
Every prospect returns Duskshrouded Stone and Crystalline Glass, plus ore-specific gems. Patch 12.1 adds two refinement recipes that upgrade rank 1 Crystalline Glass or Duskshrouded Stone to rank 2. Eversong Diamonds do not drop by default and need points in the Proficient Processor tree, where each ore has its own node.

Crushing turns uncut gems into Glimmering Gemdust at about 0.67 per crush with talents. Uncommon and rare gems give the same amount, so crush the cheaper ones. Method’s materials total for skill 1 to 80 is 200 ore for prospecting, 6 gems for crushing and 119 Glimmering Gemdust. Method also says buying materials at the Auction House is cheaper and more reliable than prospecting, because prospecting is random.
Rings, Necklaces and Embellishments
- Trainer rings and necklaces. Gleaming Copper Band (skill 20) and Nocturnal Charm (30).
- Epic rings. Loa Worshiper’s Band (Magovu, Zul’Aman, Amani Tribe renown 5) and Signet of Azerothian Blessings (Naynar, Harandar, Hara’ti renown 5).
- Alluring Accessories specialization. Masterwork Sin’dorei Band and Masterwork Sin’dorei Amulet. Regal Rings and Luxurious Lockets also add embellishments to them (Method).
- Drops. Thalassian Phoenix Torque (Belo’ren) and Voidstone Shielding Array (Charonus, Voidscar Arena).
- PvP. Thalassian Competitor’s Amulet and Signet, and Cognitive, Determined and Enduring Heliotrope gems, from the Honor vendor Mirvedon in Silvermoon.
- 12.1 embellishment. Polished Ammolite gives a random critical strike proc (Method). Jewelcrafting and Engineering embellishment recipes come from world drops.
Rings are the Season 2 gear a jeweler crafts, and they are paid for with the same Sparks of Tides and Mistcrests as every other crafted slot. Because Sparks are scarce, compare a crafted ring with what the Auction House and Crafting Orders offer before you spend them on one. Leveling Jewelcrafting from 1 to 100
Method’s route (5 March 2026) is short because Midnight removed the Engraved Gemcutter and most reagents:

Draenei get +5 Jewelcrafting skill and Kul Tiran get +2 to every profession (Method). At skill 80 the trainer teaches housing decor such as Brilliant Phoenix Harp and Tenebrous Ren’dorei Armillary; they are expensive and not suited to leveling.
Specializations
Four trees open at skill 25, 50, 60 and 75 (wow-professions.com). Names differ on some sites; check the in-game tree before you follow a build.

For crafting gear and rings for others, Alluring Accessories plus Thoughtful Throughput is the usual pairing. For making gems, Glamorous Gems plus Proficient Processor. Epic tools use Artisan Jewelcrafter’s Moxie, which only buys Jewelcrafting recipes.

Every Midnight profession got one free respec in patch 12.1 (everything new in 12.1). Method says it returns all spent points and removes the recipes they bought. Jewelers should settle on an ore for Prospecting Pro before filling the Proficient Processor wheel, since that choice is what you would be paying to undo.
Making Gold With Midnight Jewelcrafting
Icy Veins lists Jewelcrafting in S tier for Season 2, citing a strong Concentration build for consumable production (gems) and gear crafting potential, with rings named as the main item. Concentration refunds come from Inspiration procs in the talent tree. Expensive end-game recipes only turn a profit at max rank with Concentration, so many players save them for late leveling.
- Gems. Compare the price of Flawless gems against the ore and Gemdust you spend. Dazzling Thorium is the only ore with a high Eversong Diamond chance (about 22%).
- Rings. Season 2 rings need Sparks and Mistcrests. Check the Auction House and Crafting Orders before you choose which ring to craft first.
- Crafting Orders. Work orders can supply most materials, which saves gold (Method).
