Undermine Tier Sets (The War Within Season 2) in 2026
Updated 12 October 2026. This page covers the tier sets of The War Within Season 2. For the sets of the current season, Midnight Season 2, see our Midnight tier sets guide.
The War Within Season 2 arrived with patch 11.1.0 on 25 February 2025 and brought the Liberation of Undermine raid. Its armor sets are called Tier 33 on the Warcraft Wiki. They were the tier gear of one season, and in Midnight they are mainly of interest for transmog and for completing an old collection, because the raid is level 80 content and a current character out-levels it.
We removed the full per-spec bonus tables that this page carried until now. They came from a preview made before the patch, and we could not re-check every number against the game today. What we can confirm is below: the set names, which boss dropped which piece, the item levels, and how to get into the raid now.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Raid | Liberation of Undermine: the second raid of The War Within, 8 bosses, final boss Chrome King Gallywix |
| Tier | Tier 33, 5 pieces per set (head, shoulders, chest, hands, legs) |
| Raid level | 80, minimum item level 606 |
| Difficulties with a separate set look | Raid Finder, Heroic and Mythic (Warcraft Wiki) |
Tier 33 Set Names by Class
Each class has one set. Names are from the Warcraft Wiki’s Tier 33 page.
| Class | Tier 33 set | Token |
|---|---|---|
| Death Knight | Cauldron Champion’s Encore | Dreadful |
| Demon Hunter | Fel-Dealer’s Contraband | Dreadful |
| Druid | Roots of Reclaiming Blight | Mystic |
| Evoker | Opulent Treasurescale’s Hoard | Zenith |
| Hunter | Tireless Collector’s Bounties | Mystic |
| Mage | Jewels of the Aspectral Emissary | Mystic |
| Monk | Ageless Serpent’s Foresight | Zenith |
| Paladin | Oath of the Aureate Sentry | Venerated |
| Priest | Confessor’s Unshakable Virtue | Venerated |
| Rogue | Spectral Gambler’s Last Call | Zenith |
| Shaman | Currents of the Gale Sovereign | Venerated |
| Warlock | Spliced Fiendtrader’s Influence | Dreadful |
| Warrior | Underpin Strongarm’s Muscle (the Warcraft Wiki lists Enforcer’s Backalley Brawlplate) | Zenith |
The Warrior set is named differently by two sources. Blizzard Watch’s ranking of the Undermine sets and our earlier version of this page use “Underpin Strongarm’s Muscle”; the Warcraft Wiki’s Tier 33 table shows “Enforcer’s Backalley Brawlplate”. Check the name in the Appearances tab if it matters to you.
The token groups are those listed on the wiki’s Liberation of Undermine page. Dreadful covers Death Knight, Warlock and Demon Hunter; Mystic covers Hunter, Mage and Druid; Venerated covers Paladin, Priest and Shaman; Zenith covers Warrior, Rogue, Monk and Evoker.
Where Each Piece Dropped
Six bosses of the Liberation of Undermine dropped a token for a set piece, and a seventh dropped one that works for any slot.
| Boss | What it dropped |
|---|---|
| Cauldron of Carnage | Hands token |
| Rik Reverb | Shoulders token |
| Sprocketmonger Lockenstock | Chest token |
| Stix Bunkjunker | Legs token |
| The One-Armed Bandit | Head token |
| Chrome King Gallywix | Omni-token (any slot) |
Two other routes existed according to the wiki. Other items from the raid could be converted into tier pieces at the Catalyst in Dornogal, and Kari Bridgeblaster in the Incontinental Hotel in Undermine sold tier pieces for an Excessively Bejeweled Curio. The wiki does not say whether either route still works in Midnight, so check in game.
Item levels by difficulty
The wiki splits the raid into four item level tiers: boss 1 (Vexie and the Geargrinders), bosses 2 to 4 (Cauldron of Carnage, Rik Reverb, Sprocketmonger Lockenstock), bosses 5 and 6 (Stix Bunkjunker, The One-Armed Bandit) and bosses 7 and 8 (Mug’Zee, Chrome King Gallywix).
| Difficulty | Boss 1 | Bosses 2-4 | Bosses 5-6 | Bosses 7-8 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Raid Finder | 623 | 626 | 629 | 632 |
| Normal | 636 | 639 | 642 | 645 |
| Heroic | 649 | 652 | 655 | 658 |
| Mythic | 662 | 665 | 668 | 671 |
These are the values on the wiki. Current Midnight Season 2 raid gear is on a different scale (282 to 344 per the Warcraft Wiki), so use the table to compare difficulties, not to compare with today’s gear.
How Tier 33 Bonuses Were Designed
Icy Veins’ first look at the patch 11.1 sets said that the 2-piece bonus is tied to your role and the 4-piece bonus to your specialization. Two examples from that preview show how the sets worked:
- Priest. The 2-piece makes your healing spells able to apply Insurance!, a heal-over-time on the target that bursts if the ally falls below 40% health. The 4-piece makes Holy Word: Serenity and Holy Word: Sanctify apply Insurance! while Apotheosis is active, with 1% more healing for each Insurance! on allies.
- Warrior. The 2-piece makes damage taken able to trigger Shield Wall for 4 seconds and a Luck of the Draw! buff that raises your damage by 15% for 10 seconds. The 4-piece gives Shield Slam 50% more critical chance during Luck of the Draw! and lets its crits cut the Shield Charge cooldown by 6 seconds.
The Priest example applies to the Holy spec and the Warrior one to Protection. Both are preview numbers, not a tested final list. For the exact bonuses on any class, open the set in the Appearances tab or the item tooltip in game. If you are choosing what to play today, the sets that matter for power are the Midnight ones.
How to Get Into the Raid Now
The entrance to the Liberation of Undermine is outside the Incontinental Hotel in Undermine. To reach Undermine, finish the first chapter of the Undermine(d) campaign, which starts in Foundation Hall in Dornogal. Completing it adds a rocket drill connection at Gutterside Rocket Station in the Ringing Deeps, and after that every other character on the account can use the drill. Defeating Chrome King Gallywix is required to continue the campaign. The raid has Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic and Mythic modes and a Story Mode that opened on 11 March 2025.
The raid also has its own renown track, the Gallagio Loyalty Rewards Club, which rises as you defeat bosses and lieutenants inside the raid. Its ranks add quality-of-life features to the Incontinental Hotel and the raid, and eventually a mount, a teleport to the raid and a bonus to damage and healing. About 5,000 reputation is available in the raid, and standing does not depend on difficulty or character.
The raid group size ranges from 10 to 30 players. A hotfix on 26 March 2025 lowered the damage of several bosses for smaller groups on Raid Finder, Normal and Heroic, with the largest reduction for 10-player groups.
If you want a set for transmog and not for power, you only need the appearance version you like: Raid Finder, Heroic and Mythic each have their own look. Our WoW services include raid runs if you prefer to skip the farming.
