Midnight Renown at a Glance
Current as of 12 October 2026 for the Renown systems of patch 12.1. Patch 12.1.5 follows on 13 October, when we check the weekly numbers again.
Our earlier version of this page covered the four reputation factions of The War Within and their weekly events. Midnight uses the Renown system again, with new factions and a different structure, so this page is rewritten for Midnight. We did not re-check the old Isle of Dorn, Ringing Deeps, Hallowfall and Azj-Kahet events for the current game.
These are the rules that apply to every Midnight faction, according to Icy Veins’ Midnight renown guide (updated 10 July 2026):
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Scope | Renown is account-wide and shared between all characters of your Warband, so you only need to earn it once and there is no catch-up system |
| Cost per rank | 2,500 reputation per Renown rank |
| Cap | Renown 20. You can keep earning after 20 and receive a Paragon Bag |
| Where to see your standing | Journeys tab of the Adventure Journal (Shift + J), then pick Midnight in the dropdown. The Reputation tab (U) lists all Midnight factions |
| When world quests and events start | At level 90. Until then you earn Renown from the zone campaigns |
| Currency for rewards | Voidlight Marl |
There are five major factions in 12.1: four from the Quel’Thalas zones and Zul’jarra’s Forces, which came with the 12.1 patch “Curse of Ula’tek” on the Coiled Isle. Each zone introduces its faction as you finish the level-up campaign there.
The Five Factions and Their Weekly Events
| Faction | Zone | Weekly zone event | Quartermaster |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silvermoon Court | Eversong Woods | Saltheril’s Soiree | Caeris Fairdawn, south of Saltheril’s Haven |
| Amani Tribe | Zul’Aman | Abundance (weekly quest “Weekly: Abundance”) | Magovu, in the main building of Amani’Zar Village |
| Hara’ti | Harandar | Legends of the Haranir (find the Hara’ti’s legendary relics) | Naynar, upper level of The Den |
| The Singularity | Voidstorm | Stormarion Assault (weekly quest “Stand Your Ground”) | Void Researcher Anomander, Howling Ridge |
| Zul’jarra’s Forces (12.1) | Coiled Isle | Curse Site world events and the Vaults of Atal’Utek | Jan’sari the Watchful, Tokka’s Landing |
Silvermoon Court: Saltheril’s Soiree
The Soiree is the main source of Silvermoon Court reputation. A short questline from Saltheril’s Haven starts it. Each week, in the quest High Esteem, you choose one of the four noble factions of Silvermoon (Blood Knights, Farstriders, Magisters or Shades of the Row) to bring to the Haven. The choice lasts the whole week and immediately changes your standing with the other three, including losses. You then get a weekly world quest to fortify the Runestones of Eversong Woods, which gives a significant amount of reputation with your chosen noble faction and with the Court. Completing High Esteem also gives you Saltheril’s Favor tokens: each one opens another weekly quest for the noble faction you offer it to. The noble factions have their own vendors that take Brimming Arcana.
Amani Tribe, Hara’ti and The Singularity
The other zone events work through a weekly quest that you complete at the event. Zul’Aman also has Loa Blessings, a buff system that starts at the end of the main story and gives powerful buffs while you are in the zone. Harandar has Moth Hunting: 120 glowing moths in three sets of 40, which give Luminous Dust to spend with Mothkeeper Wew’tam. Moth Hunting does not raise reputation directly, but you need Hara’ti Renown to open all three sets, and collecting every moth earns the “Dustlord” title.
Zul’jarra’s Forces
The newest faction adds Curse Site world events on the Coiled Isle and activities in the Vaults of Atal’Utek, an underground area. Renown 10 starts the questline to the Spirit of Tok’jara mount, Renown 12 sells the Snek’zali pet and Renown 13 sells the Idol of Ula’tek toy (Icy Veins, July 2026).
Weekly Checklist for Fast Renown
These are the sources that repeat every week. Reputation values are from the sources named in each row, and they can differ, so we say where.
| Source | Reward | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Halduron Brightwing’s dungeon quest (Silvermoon City) | 1,500 reputation with the faction of your choice (Icy Veins) | A different dungeon every week. Any difficulty counts, even Follower Dungeons |
| The World Awaits (World Quests bonus event) | 2,500 reputation, one full Renown rank, for a faction of your choice (Icy Veins) | Complete 10 world quests in Quel’Thalas while the bonus event runs |
| Zone event weekly quest | 2,000 reputation with that zone’s faction (Blizzard Watch, March 2026) | Saltheril’s Soiree, Abundance, Legends of the Haranir or Stormarion Assault |
| Meta weekly quests from Lady Liadrin | Reputation with the faction of your choice (amounts not listed) | Cover world quests, dungeons, zone events and delves. One per week |
| Rare mobs | 50 reputation per rare; 15 rares per zone, so 750 a week in Eversong Woods, Zul’Aman and Harandar and 700 in Voidstorm (Blizzard Watch) | Icy Veins words it as “once per rare”, so check in game whether yours reset |
| Bountiful Delves | Reputation from Bountiful Caches (amount not listed) | Icy Veins lists them as a source for every Midnight faction |
Blizzard Watch also lists one-time sources in every zone: lore objects worth 250 reputation each (5 in Eversong Woods, 6 in Zul’Aman, 4 in Harandar and 5 in Voidstorm) and five high points at 100 reputation each. Zone side quests give one-time reputation too and add to the Sojourner achievement.
Contracts are the best long-term tool. A Contract is an Inscription consumable that links you to one faction until the weekly reset: every world quest you complete in any Midnight zone then gives an extra 10 reputation with that faction, for your whole Warband. The Contract technique is sold by the faction’s quartermaster; for the Silvermoon Court and the Amani Tribe it costs 1,500 Voidlight Marl and 150 Artisan Scribe’s Moxie at Renown 5. You can only be committed to one faction until the weekly reset.
Renown Rewards Worth the Grind
Every faction sells cosmetics, profession recipes, housing decor and mounts for Voidlight Marl. The big-ticket items sit at Renown 16 to 19. Ranks and prices below are from the Icy Veins quartermaster tables.
| Faction | Mount (Renown, price) | Mount (Renown, price) |
|---|---|---|
| Silvermoon Court | Crimson Silvermoon Hawkstrider (17, 6,000) | Fiery Dragonhawk (19, 8,000) |
| Amani Tribe | Amani Blessed Bear (17, 6,000) | Amani Windcaller (19, 8,000) |
| Hara’ti | Fierce Grimlynx (16, 6,000) | Cerulean Sporeglider (19, 8,000) |
| The Singularity | Ravenous Shredclaw (17, 6,000) | Voidbound Stormray (19, 8,000) |
| Zul’jarra’s Forces | Spirit of Tok’jara (questline from Renown 10) | – |
Other rewards worth knowing: each faction sells a tabard (Silvermoon Court at Renown 10 for 3,000 Voidlight Marl), cloaks from Renown 2, profession recipes and knowledge tomes in the middle ranks, and housing decor for 250 to 500 Voidlight Marl at many ranks. Reaching Renown 20 gives an achievement for each faction and credit toward the Midnight Diplomat meta-achievement. Prices on housing decor were updated in March 2026, so check them at the vendor.
Reputation is only one source of Voidlight Marl. Our Delver’s Journey guide covers the other big weekly source, Bountiful Delves.
Fastest Order: How to Plan the Week
- Pick the faction you want first. Halduron’s dungeon quest and The World Awaits both pay a faction of your choice, so point them at the same faction for a quick path to the first mount.
- Use a Contract for that faction before you do world quests, so every quest pays 10 extra.
- Do the zone event weekly for the same faction (for Silvermoon Court that means Saltheril’s Soiree and its weekly Runestones quest).
- Kill the zone’s rares when they are on your route.
- Open Bountiful Caches in Delves, which give reputation for a random faction.
- Rotate. When the first faction reaches the rank you want, repeat the week for the next one. Because Renown is shared across the Warband, an alt does not need to repeat it.
If you are still leveling, you do not need to wait for 90 to start: the zone campaigns give your first ranks, and our Midnight beginner guide explains the leveling order. Once you are at the cap, our Season 2 preparation guide lists what else to do each week. If you would rather skip the weekly routine, see our WoW services.
