Midnight Tier Sets
Reviewed on 12 October 2026. Covers Season 2 (patch 12.1, the Venomous Abyss raid); Season 1 sets appear by name only, for reference.
Tier sets in Midnight are class armor sets with 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses for every specialization. Season 2 gives each of the 13 classes a new set, earned from the Venomous Abyss raid, the Great Vault and the Catalyst. The sections below list every Season 2 bonus by spec, how each piece drops, and what the patch 12.1 Catalyst change means for your gear.
For which spec to pick, see Midnight Best DPS, Midnight Best Tank and Midnight Best Healers.

Where the sources disagree, this page describes the effect in words; check the tooltip in game for the exact value.
All Midnight Tier Sets
Each class has one set per season. The Season 1 sets dropped in the Voidspire and the Dreamrift, and could also be bought from Kirana in March on Quel’Danas with Chiming Void Curios. The Season 2 sets drop in the Venomous Abyss.
| Class | Season 1 set | Season 2 set | Season 2 token |
|---|---|---|---|
| Death Knight | Relentless Rider’s Lament | Baleful Grave-Knight’s Crucible | Forged (Plate) |
| Demon Hunter | Devouring Reaver’s Sheathe | Abyssal Demonhound’s Pursuit | Cured (Leather) |

Each set has a separate appearance for Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic and Mythic. The extra visual effects of the Season 2 sets exist natively on the Mythic and Elite versions; on lower versions you add them with the Insidious Venomstone from the Sssensational! achievement. Earn it by defeating Ula’tek on Mythic, reaching a Mythic+ rating of 2,500, or earning Elite in PvP in Season 2.
How to Get Midnight Tier Sets
There are four ways to get Season 2 set pieces, and they stack:
- Raid boss tokens. Five Venomous Abyss bosses drop a token for one slot, shared between classes of the same armor type.
- Slumbering Coil Curio. Ula’tek drops it on every difficulty, and you trade it for the set piece of your choice.
- Great Vault. Each week the Vault can contain set pieces. The raid row opens at 2, 4 and 6 Season 2 bosses defeated, so open as many slots as you can.
- Catalyst. Convert eligible seasonal gear into a set piece (see the crafting section below).
| Venomous Abyss boss | Token slot | Item level (Raid Finder / Normal / Heroic / Mythic) |
|---|---|---|
| The Lost Explorers | Shoulders | 282 / 295 / 308 / 321 |
| Entombed Sentinels | Hands | 282 / 295 / 308 / 321 |
| Vashnik the Malignant | Chest | 285 / 298 / 311 / 324 |
| Sszorak | Legs | 285 / 298 / 311 / 324 |
| The Twin Fangs | Head | 285 / 298 / 311 / 324 |
| Ula’tek (Slumbering Coil Curio) | Any slot, your choice | 289 / 302 / 315 / see in game |
Item levels are from the Warcraft Wiki’s Season 2 raid table; check them in game. Tokens have a small chance to drop Warbound-until-equipped at a lower upgrade track (Icy Veins). To plan gearing around the season’s other sources, see our Season 2 preparation guide. If you would rather not clear the raid for the pieces yourself, our WoW services include raid runs.
Midnight Tier Set Tokens
In Midnight, tokens are not class-specific. They are shared by armor type:
| Token | Armor | Classes |
|---|---|---|
| Woven | Cloth | Mage, Priest, Warlock |
| Cured | Leather | Demon Hunter, Druid, Monk, Rogue |
| Cast | Evoker, Hunter, Shaman | |
| Forged | Plate | Death Knight, Paladin, Warrior |
When you use a token, it creates the piece for your class’s set. Tokens follow armor type, so a Warrior’s plate token is shared only with the other plate classes.
Slumbering Coil Curio
Ula’tek drops a Slumbering Coil Curio on every difficulty. It is an omni-token: take it to Kirana near the Catalyst in Silvermoon and trade it for any class set piece. The item level depends on the raid difficulty. All classes can roll for it, but you can hold only one at a time.
Midnight Tier Set Crafting
The Catalyst is a console in Silvermoon City that converts eligible gear into class set pieces. It has been available since the week of 11 August 2026, and it protects you against bad luck in the raid.
| Question | Answer (Icy Veins, 11 August) |
|---|---|
| What can be converted | Seasonal PvP gear (Honor, Conquest, War Mode) and PvE gear of Veteran rank or higher |
| Which slots count toward the bonus | Head, shoulders, chest, hands, legs. Other slots change appearance only |
| What you keep (new in 12.1) | The original piece’s secondary stats and cantrips, so the set piece no longer comes with fixed stats |
| Charge currency | Crystallized Venomblight Manaflux |
| How you earn charges | One when the season starts, then one every two weeks; no catch-up if you miss a charge |
| Extra charge | Once per season, with the Midnight Season 2: Serpent Scion achievement: 1,600 rated PvP rating, 2,000 Mythic+ rating, or defeating the final boss of the Venomous Abyss on Heroic or Mythic |
| Catalyst Unbound | When you obtain the 4-piece bonus on a character, that character earns a Feat of Strength that makes Catalyst charges drop from raid bosses, Mythic+, Bountiful Delves and Rated PvP for the rest of the season |
Because charges are limited, convert a piece from the highest item level source you have, and check that the piece is in a slot you still need. From the week of 20 October, Blizzard’s 12.1.5 notes add Ascendant Venomstones: collect 10 and use them near the Catalyst to raise the item level of a fully upgraded Season 2 Hero or Myth item. Sources include Heroic and Mythic raid bosses, Mythic+ at +10 and above, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves and Nightmare Prey Hunt chests.
