The War Within Alchemy Recipes in Midnight: Quick Answer
Alchemy for patch 12.1 (Curse of Ula’tek), reviewed 12 October 2026. Details are from Method’s and wow-professions.com’s Midnight Alchemy guides and Method’s 12.1 profession summary.
The War Within (Khaz Algar) Alchemy recipes are legacy content now. Flasks, potions and phials for Midnight raids and Mythic+ come from the new Midnight skill line, learned in Silvermoon. The old Khaz Algar recipes still exist, but you only need them for housing decor and collections.

What Happened to the TWW Alchemy Recipes
The Khaz Algar tier is a separate skill line. Warcraft Wiki shows that it can be trained from character level 68 and goes up to 100 skill points, while the Midnight tier is trained at level 80. The main War Within Season 1 recipes, all still listed on Wowhead, were:

They use Khaz Algar herbs such as Mycobloom, Luredrop, Orbinid, Blessing Blossom and Arathor’s Spear. We removed the old ingredient quantities, because we cannot check them for this patch. None of these consumables are the right choice for Season 2 raids, because Midnight flasks and potions replaced them.
Do TWW Recipes Still Matter?
- Housing decor. Every crafting profession can make decor from earlier expansions. Reach about 80% of that expansion’s skill line first and most recipes are then easy to get from trainers. Older decor needs older materials, which can be expensive because fewer players farm them. Icy Veins reports that patch 12.1.5 will lower the cost of pre-Midnight decor recipes, but Blizzard’s 12.1.5 notes of 1 October do not mention professions, so check the cost in game before you level the old tier. - Combat. We found no source that lists a Khaz Algar consumable as worth crafting for current raids or keys. Use the Midnight ones below.
How Midnight Alchemy Works
The structure is close to The War Within with a few differences: Experimentation is gone, you buy recipes at Camberon’s Cauldron in Silvermoon (next to the trainer), and flasks and potions can be recycled into Stabilized Derivate, which many recipes need. Moxie (here Artisan Alchemist’s Moxie) is a profession-specific currency that only buys Alchemy recipes from vendors.
Camberon’s Cauldron
Camberon’s Cauldron gives you recipes for completing set crafting tasks, with no randomness. Some examples (wow-professions.com):

More recipes come from vendors: for example Potion of Recklessness (Void Researcher Anomander in Voidstorm, Renown 5 with The Singularity) and Haranir Phial of Perception (Naynar in Harandar, Renown 5 with Hara’ti).
Midnight Alchemy Specializations and Knowledge Points
There are four specialization trees. The first opens early, and the next ones at skill 50, 60 and 75 (Method: second tree at 50).

Knowledge points come from many sources. wow-professions.com puts the weekly total at about 18, and the one-off total from treasures and the renown book at 34:

The two guides disagree on which tree to fill first (one starts with Haranir Phials and Phial Abundance, the other with Fluent in Flasks), so choose by what you plan to sell.
Best Midnight Flasks and Potions
Choose by your own gear: Flask of the Magisters gives Mastery (152 / 165 depending on rank), and Icy Veins’ tank pages use Flask of the Shattered Sun (Critical Strike) as the default unless you have plenty of Critical Strike already. Flask of the Blood Knights and Flask of Thalassian Resistance are the other two options, and class guides name the best one per spec and stat spread. A sim of your character against your own stat spread settles it.
- Healing and mana: Silvermoon Health Potion at the start, Lightfused Mana Potion (Cauldron, after recycling Midnight potions 5 times).
- Other potions from the Cauldron and vendors: Light’s Potential, Potion of Zealotry, Draught of Rampant Abandon, Potion of Devoured Dreams, Potion of Recklessness. Patch 12.1 added Liquid Luster (a stacking Versatility potion) and Alluring Nostrum (an area damage potion).
- Cauldrons: the Flask Cauldron and Potion Cauldron recipes need 30 points in their trees.
Concentration and Crafting Stats
- Concentration is capped at 1,000 and refills by 1 every 6 minutes, 10 per hour.
- Spending it guarantees the next quality rank of what you craft. A share is refunded when the Ingenuity stat procs.
- Midnight has only Silver and Gold rank reagents and consumables, so Concentration can be used for Gold right away.
- Use Concentration only when the extra quality pays for it. Transmutes pair well with it, because they are charge-based and you can wait for the bar to refill.
- Stat rule of thumb from the guides: if a craft can Multicraft, stack Multicraft; if it can’t, stack Resourcefulness.
What Patch 12.1 Changed for Alchemy
Patch 12.1 (11 August 2026) added four Alchemy recipes: Concentrated Silvermoon Health Potion, Liquid Luster, Alluring Nostrum and the housing item Ersatz Venom Splatter. It also added two gathered materials, Neutralized Venom Clot (Venom Infused Mining and Herbalism nodes) and Cursebound Globe (cursebound nodes). The free knowledge reset lets you move spent points once per Midnight profession, and unlearns any recipes you bought with those points. Blizzard’s 12.1.5 notes list no profession changes. Is Alchemy Worth It for Gold in Season 2?
Icy Veins’ gold-making tier list (updated 11 August for Season 2) rates Alchemy potions in S tier and Alchemy flasks in A tier. Its main advice is to craft on raid days, sell in the evening and use crafting orders for Concentration. TWW Alchemy and Midnight Alchemy FAQ
Can I still craft War Within flasks and potions?
Yes, if you have the Khaz Algar recipes. They are no longer the best choice for current raids and Mythic+.
Do I need to level the TWW tier before Midnight Alchemy?
No. The Midnight skill line has its own trainer in Silvermoon. The old tiers matter only for decor and old recipes.
How many Concentration points do I get per day?
The bar refills 10 per hour up to 1,000, so a full bar takes about 100 hours.
Should I reset my knowledge points?
The reset is free once per profession. Do it if you have invested in a tree you no longer use (for example a transmute build when you now craft flasks). Otherwise keep what works.
