Update 11.1.5: Hunters Can Tame the Secret Arathi War Lynx

Introduction

Developers have a fondness for hunters and often introduce new pets for them to tame. The update 11.1.5 will bring a few such pets, including some that are considered “secret.” One of these is the Arathi Battle Lynx, which requires certain actions to be captured.

Mourning Battle Lynx

In the Thalnos Vault, near the entrance to the Echoing Depths, at coordinates 71.1, 39.7, players can find the Mourning Battle Lynx. This creature mourns over the lifeless remains of someone who appears to have been its master, who fell in an uneven battle with two, now also deceased, Nerubians.

The creature is friendly towards players and initially cannot be tamed. However, a hunter can “Encourage” the lynx to console its sadness over its fallen master. Following this, the lynx will unexpectedly turn towards the player and push them back into the water in an emotional outburst. It will then change its status to neutral, allowing it to be tamed in the usual manner.

The lynx comes in three different fur colors: white, gray, and brown, but only one type of armor. It respawns 30-60 minutes after being tamed, appearing in a random color.
