Midnight Season 2 PvP Tier List at a Glance
Tier labels on this page were captured on 12 October 2026, the day before patch 12.1.5. Icy Veins’ arena lists date from 4 and 12 September, ArenaCoach’s Solo Shuffle labels from 12 October, and Blizzard’s announcement for 12.1.5 names no class changes, so the tiers should hold until the first post-patch tuning.
No single tier list is the truth in PvP. Icy Veins ranks specs for arena by damage, control, defensives and utility. ArenaCoach ranks them by round win rate on the Solo Shuffle ladder. This page shows both, with the date of each, so you can see where they agree and where they do not.

Healer tiers move with the DPS meta: they depend on which classes are strong and which classes counter them. The 18 August tuning (below) reduced Restoration Druid and Holy Paladin healing by 5% each and raised Restoration Shaman healing by 4%, so expect these ranks to shift if the next tuning pass touches healers.
Why the Lists Disagree: Solo Shuffle Ladder Data
ArenaCoach publishes tiers from Solo Shuffle round win rates. On 12 October 2026 its Season 2 spec pages showed these labels, next to the Icy Veins placement from above.

The two lists measure different things. Icy Veins is an expert opinion about arena, where you choose your partner. ArenaCoach is win rate in Solo Shuffle, where teammates are random, so a spec that needs a coordinated partner can look worse there than it plays in 3v3. That is our reading of the gap, not a statement from either site. The ladder labels also move with the data: a search snapshot from early September listed Holy Priest and Windwalker Monk as S tier, and on 12 October they read C and A. Treat the right-hand column as a snapshot, and check the live number before you commit to a spec.
What Changed for Season 2: Tuning and Diminishing Returns
Patch 12.1 went live on 11 August 2026. Season 2 and the first wave of class tuning arrived on 18 August. The changes that matter for PvP:
- Diminishing returns reset. The crowd control DR timer is 20 seconds, up from 16 (12.1 PTR development notes, 30 June).
- PvP trinket set bonus. Raised from 15% to 20% primary stat for damage dealers and tanks. Blizzard said PvP combat had been slower than intended and raised the primary stat of non-healer specs to increase outgoing damage.
- Retribution Paladin damage +8% and several ability buffs. Holy Paladin healing -5% and Judgment -30%, with Avenging Crusader increased.
- Restoration Druid healing -5%. Restoration Shaman healing +4%, Storm Conduit reduced, Farseer improved.
- Fire Mage: Pyroblast up, Meteor and Comet Storm down. Destruction Warlock: Soul Fire -30%. Devourer Demon Hunter: Fury from Surrender to the Void reduced.

Transmog follows rating: a cloak at 1000, legs and bracers at 1200, gloves and boots at 1400, chest and belt at 1600, shoulders and helm at 1800, the Venomcoil illusion at 1950, a prestigious cloak at 2100 and a tabard at 2300.
Gear comes in three ways. Unrated, Venomous Aspirant items start at PvP item level 324 for Honor. In War Mode, rare Venomous Warmonger items sit at 324 for Bloody Tokens. Rated, Venomous Gladiator items start at 337 for Conquest. Crafted Thalassian Competitor pieces reach PvP item level 309, 322 or 335 by Heraldry tier.
How to Use a PvP Tier List
- Pick by bracket. For Solo Shuffle, weigh the ladder data more. For 3v3 with a fixed partner, weigh the Icy Veins arena list, because a team can cover a spec’s weaknesses.
- Do not skip a B tier spec you play well. Icy Veins notes that just about every spec can reach Gladiator, and the lists above place the same spec two tiers apart.
- Check the date. A list older than the last tuning pass is out of date. Both Icy Veins lists above were updated in September, after the 18 August tuning.
- Healers. Healer tiers swing the most with each patch. If you queue as a healer, re-check them after 12.1.5.

What is the best PvP class in Midnight Season 2?
There is no single answer. Icy Veins puts Arms Warrior, Assassination Rogue, Affliction Warlock and Fire Mage in S tier for arena. On the Solo Shuffle ladder on 12 October, only Fire Mage and Assassination Rogue were S tier at ArenaCoach.
What is the best healer in PvP right now?
Icy Veins ranks Restoration Druid first (12 September), then Holy Priest. Ladder win rates for healers differ, so check them before committing.
Did patch 12.1.5 change PvP balance?
Not according to Blizzard’s announcement for 12.1.5 (13 October), which names no class changes. Expect list updates only once a week or so of ladder data has come in.
How do I get the Vicious Lightbloom Boar mount?
Win rated PvP matches at 1000 rating or higher and fill the Season Rewards bar once.
What rating do I need for Gladiator?
