Key Takeaways

This guide covers everything you need to play a Restoration Shaman in WoW Forever: builds and talents, rotation, leveling, gear, stats, consumables, enchants, professions, macros and PvP. Resto is a flexible healer with excellent group support and a deep utility kit, and the sections below show you how to adapt it to every kind of content.

  • Healing toolkit: strong single-target healing from Healing Wave, group healing from Chain Heal, the Riptide heal-over-time, plus Totems and group utility.
  • Where it shines: dungeons and group content; damage is limited, so solo leveling is slower than on Elemental, and groups are the faster road.
  • Race: Orc is the pick on the Horde side, and Dwarf is the only Alliance option.
  • Totems: they hand out buffs, crowd control, defence and group support, and Mana Tide Totem adds extra Mana recovery.
  • Professions: Leatherworking with Skinning is the gear route, while Herbalism with Alchemy gives you consumables and campfire bonuses.
  • PvP: reactive healing backed by Totems, interrupts, dispels and emergency tools.

Note: The current beta caps characters at level 20. The level 30 and level 60 recommendations rely on the complete talent data from Patch 1.60.1, so treat everything beyond level 20 as preparation you cannot fully test yet.

WoW Forever Restoration Shaman Overview

Restoration is the healing specialization of the Shaman. You call on the elements to patch up allies and keep a party on its feet. Healing Wave is your dependable single-target heal, Chain Heal takes care of groups, and Riptide lays a heal-over-time on top of a target while also making the Chain Heal you cast on that same target stronger. Together these three spells let you answer very different damage patterns without changing your whole approach.

What sets the spec apart is everything it brings to the party besides raw healing. Your Totems hand out buffs, crowd control and defensive effects, and Mana Tide Totem refills Mana for nearby party members. Purge, Earth Shock and Reincarnation add even more utility, while Ghost Wolf gives you better mobility than the Classic version of the spec ever had.

If you would rather not grind the early levels, you can get your Shaman levelled through our powerleveling options and arrive at the dungeon queue ready to heal.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Resto Shaman is strong where it counts for a healer: direct healing, area healing and a long list of utility tools. The price you pay is a thin damage kit. The table below puts the good and the bad side by side so you know what you are signing up for.

Strengths Weaknesses
Strong single-target healing with Healing Wave and area healing with Chain Heal Little damage talent support compared with other specializations
Riptide improves Chain Heal and adds a strong HoT for flexible healing No strong area damage, so solo leveling is less effective
Wide group utility through Shaman Totems, Purge and Earth Shock Healing on the move is still awkward, even with the improved Ghost Wolf
Reincarnation gives you an emergency way back after a death You must manage positioning and Totems well to get full value from the utility
Dungeon healing that adapts to different damage patterns Leveling as Restoration is impractical unless you play with a group

The pattern is clear: Restoration pays you back in groups and charges you for playing alone. If you plan to spend most of your time in dungeons, the weaknesses barely matter. If you mostly quest solo, expect a slower ride.

Still choosing a race? See our best races for WoW Forever guide.

Best Race

On the Horde side Orc is the best Restoration Shaman race, and Dwarf is the only Alliance option. Both races bring useful defensive and utility abilities, and Orc adds some offensive and PvP perks on top.

Faction Race Why it works for Restoration
Horde Orc Blood Fury is a strong offensive cooldown, Shatter Curse removes curses and grants temporary magic damage reduction, Hardiness shortens stuns, and Axe Specialization gives 1% extra Crit with an Axe.
Alliance Dwarf Stoneform removes most harmful effects and adds Physical damage reduction, Mace Specialization gives 1% extra Crit with a Mace, and Big Game Hunter raises damage against Beasts.

Orc is the recommended Horde choice, but it is not the only workable one. Troll, Tauren and Skyborne are also viable for Restoration Shaman, each for its own reasons.

  • Troll: Berserking raises Attack and Spellcasting Speed by 10% for 10 seconds. Its short duration and fixed bonus make it weaker than the Vanilla version.
  • Tauren: Endurance adds 1% Hit Chance, which is of limited value to a healer, but Plainsrunning and War Stomp help with leveling, open-world content and PvP.
  • Skyborne: Wind Blessed gives 1% Attack and Spellcasting Speed, a nice fit for Restoration, while Skysight and Walk on Air add mobility and utility.

Tip: Racial perks are small bonuses, not a reason to roll a faction you will not enjoy. Choose the side your friends play, then pick the best race that side offers.

WoW Forever Restoration Shaman Changes

The changes to Restoration Shaman in WoW Forever aim at three things: smoother Mana management, more utility, and a bigger healing toolbox. Some of this is brand new, and some is a reworked version of what Classic players already know.

New Abilities and Talents

The new tools add a strong HoT, a stronger Chain Heal and better Mana regeneration, all of which pay off in longer fights.

Ability or talent Effect How it helps
Riptide Heals a friendly target and applies a heal-over-time for 15 sec. Your Chain Heal casts on that target are 25% more effective. Extra healing, plus a stronger Chain Heal on the marked target.
Mindfulness Lets 17%, 33% or 50% of your Mana regeneration continue while casting, depending on talent points. Better Mana efficiency in sustained healing, and Spirit becomes more valuable.
Call of the Elements Lets you arrange a set of Earth, Fire, Water and Air Totems and deploy them together. Places several Totems before a fight and saves preparation time.
Call of the Ancestors A second saved set of four unique Totems that you can deploy together. A second preset for a different Totem combination.
Call of the Spirits A third saved set of Earth, Fire, Water and Air Totems to deploy together. More flexibility across encounters and group situations.
Totemic Recall Recalls your active Totems and returns 25% of the Mana spent on each one. Wins back Mana from unwanted or nearly expired Totems.
Totemic Projection Moves your active Totems to a target location within 30 yards, on a 1-minute cooldown. Repositions Totems without replacing them or walking back into range.

Think of the three Call spells as presets. Prepare your favourite combinations once, and you can lay down a full Totem set in one action instead of four separate casts.

Changes from Classic

The updates touch many abilities and talents, and together they give the spec a stronger toolkit for both sustained healing and raids.

  • Healing Way is a baseline bonus to Healing Wave instead of stacking up to three times on a target, so the heal is stronger without several casts first.
  • Tidal Focus now also provides up to 5% Hit Chance, in addition to lowering the Mana cost of your Shaman spells.
  • Improved Reincarnation raises your maximum Health by 4%, on top of improving the cooldown and the Health and Mana you return with after Reincarnation.
  • Mindfulness keeps 17%, 33% or 50% of your Mana regeneration running while you cast, which makes Spirit more useful for Restoration.
  • Riptide heals a friendly target, applies a 15-second HoT and makes Chain Heal 25% more effective on that target.
  • Fire Nova is now a baseline Shaman spell that deals Fire damage to enemies within 10 yards of your active Fire Totem, and it replaces Fire Nova Totem.
  • Call of the Elements, Call of the Ancestors and Call of the Spirits let you save sets of Earth, Fire, Water and Air Totems and deploy all four at once.
  • Totemic Recall gives back 25% of the Mana spent on your active Totems when you recall them, which helps with unwanted or expiring Totems.
  • Totemic Projection relocates active Totems to a spot within 30 yards, so you control placement without recasting.

Overall, most of these changes reward good Mana habits and good Totem habits. If you played Shaman in Classic, the biggest adjustments are the stronger Healing Wave and the new Riptide rhythm.

Best WoW Forever Restoration Shaman Builds

The right Restoration build depends on where you are in your progression. As you unlock more talents and pick up stronger gear and abilities, your setup changes too. These are the main builds to know:

  • Level 20 build: the 0/0/16 setup, which improves Healing Wave and strengthens your early Restoration talents.
  • Level 30 build: the 0/0/21 setup, which keeps improving Healing Wave and puts more points into the Restoration tree.
  • Level 60 build: the recommended 0/5/46 setup, centred on the Restoration tree.

Note: The point totals in the 0/0/16 and 0/0/21 labels are larger than the number of points the tables below actually spend. Follow the order in the tables, and remember that beta numbers may change.

Level 20 Build

The recommended talent build at level 20 aims for stronger Healing Wave healing, better Mana regeneration and improved spell hit.

Level Talent Ranks Reason
10 to 14 Improved Healing Wave 5/5 Shortens the cast time of Healing Wave.
15 to 17 Mindfulness 3/3 Keeps part of your Mana regeneration running while you cast.
18 to 20 Tidal Focus 3/5 Improves your chance to hit with spells.

At level 20 this build puts faster Healing Wave casts and better Mana management first. It also sets you on the path toward Water Shield and Mana Tide Totem later in the tree, so the points you spend now are not wasted when you keep going.

Ruins of Lordaeron is a good early dungeon for practising your healing and getting used to Totem management. If you want a guided clear with loot-priority options, our dungeon runs can walk you through it.

Level 30 Build

The level 30 build keeps the same ideas and stretches them further: faster Healing Wave casts, stronger Mana regeneration and better healing. Spend your talent points in this order:

Level Talent Ranks Reason
10 to 14 Improved Healing Wave 5/5 Shortens the cast time of Healing Wave.
15 to 17 Mindfulness 3/3 Keeps part of your Mana regeneration running while you cast.
18 to 19 Natural Grace 2/3 Improves your healing efficiency.
20 Water Shield 1/1 Improves Mana regeneration and helps sustain your healing.

The first two rows are identical to the level 20 build, so you never have to respec to follow this path. The new additions are Natural Grace for efficiency and Water Shield for steadier Mana.

To compare all healing classes, see the WoW Forever best healers guide.

Endgame Build

The level 60 build is the same healing, Mana and Totem plan you use while leveling, carried all the way to the end of the Restoration tree. The last five points go into Enhancement, and Elemental gets nothing at all.

Talent Ranks Tree
Improved Healing Wave 5/5 Restoration
Totemic Focus 5/5 Restoration
Mindfulness 3/3 Restoration
Tidal Focus 5/5 Restoration
Ancestral Healing 3/3 Restoration
Healing Focus 3/3 Restoration
Water Shield 1/1 Restoration
Tidal Mastery 5/5 Restoration
Restorative Totems 5/5 Restoration
Mana Tide Totem 1/1 Restoration
Healing Way 3/3 Restoration
Nature’s Swiftness 1/1 Restoration
Purification 5/5 Restoration
Riptide 1/1 Restoration
Ancestral Knowledge 5/5 Enhancement
No points required 0 Elemental

Read the table as a shopping list for the finished character. Riptide sits at the very end of the Restoration tree, so the full toolbox only comes together once you finish the build. Until then you play with the earlier pieces: faster heals, better Mana regeneration, Totem-focused talents and a Mana-restoring Totem.

WoW Forever Restoration Shaman Abilities

The Restoration kit is built around direct healing, area healing, HoTs and Totem utility. Learn what each group of abilities does, and the rotation in the next section will make sense almost on its own.

Once you know the main healing and utility tools, you can combine them into a rotation for different encounters. Pick the tools that fit the encounter in front of you, and do not feel obliged to press everything on the list.

Healing Abilities

Healing comes in three flavours: direct, area and over time. Picking the right one for the damage you see is what makes a good healer, whether the hit lands on one target or the whole group.

Ability Main use
Healing Wave Your main single-target heal.
Chain Heal The primary area-healing spell for groups and raids.
Riptide An instant heal that applies a 15-second HoT and makes Chain Heal 25% more effective on that target.
Lesser Healing Wave A faster direct heal, useful when an ally needs help right now or a shorter cast suits the moment.

Totem Abilities

Totems are a core part of the spec, with options for offence, defence, support and crowd control. Most of them keep the familiar Classic behaviour, but some have been changed to be stronger in WoW Forever.

Totem Main use
Mana Tide Totem Restores Mana to nearby party members for 12 seconds.
Healing Stream Totem Heals nearby party members periodically and adds extra healing.
Mana Spring Totem Restores Mana to nearby party members over time.
Tremor Totem Removes Fear effects from nearby party members.
Earthbind Totem Slows nearby enemies.
Strength of Earth Totem Increases Strength for nearby party members.
Windfury Totem Gives nearby melee attackers a chance at extra attacks.
Poison Cleansing Totem Periodically removes Poison effects from nearby party members.
Disease Cleansing Totem Periodically removes Disease effects from nearby party members.
Grounding Totem Intercepts a harmful spell aimed at a nearby party member.

Which Totem to drop depends on your group. A party with melee attackers cares about Windfury Totem, while a group facing Fear or Poison effects will love the cleansing and Tremor options.

Utility

Restoration utility covers a wide range of abilities that help your group handle enemy casts, debuffs, movement and more.

Utility Main use
Purge Removes up to two beneficial Magic effects from an enemy.
Earth Shock Deals Nature damage and interrupts the target’s spell cast.
Frost Shock Deals Frost damage and slows the target.
Ancestral Spirit Resurrects a fallen ally outside combat.
Reincarnation Lets you resurrect yourself after dying.
Ghost Wolf Increases movement speed and improves mobility. Improved Ghost Wolf makes it instant and usable indoors.
Cure Poison Removes a Poison effect from yourself or an ally.
Cure Disease Removes a Disease effect from yourself or an ally.
Water Walking Lets an ally walk across water.
Astral Recall Teleports you back to your home location.

WoW Forever Restoration Shaman Rotation

At level 20 the Restoration rotation is about keeping your group healthy while you balance Mana between healing and damage. It is less a fixed sequence than a set of priorities.

  • Single-target healing: drop your support Totems, then use Healing Wave on badly injured targets, the tank above all. When incoming damage is light, use lighter healing or just let people recover on their own.
  • Totems: use Strength of Earth Totem for its group buff. When you need several Totems at once, Call of the Elements saves both time and Mana.
  • Multiple targets: with several enemies and no serious incoming damage, drop Searing Totem and use Fire Nova whenever it is ready. Stop as soon as you need to hold Mana back for healing.
  • Mana management: skip needless healing and damage casts while the group is healthy. Between casts, use melee attacks where it makes sense so you do not burn Mana on low-value abilities and still have it when damage arrives.

Cooldowns

Restoration has few big cooldowns. Most of your healing comes from ordinary spells and good Totem management, so these are the few buttons that deserve planning.

  • Mana Tide Totem: restores a large amount of Mana to nearby party members. Use it in long encounters when several group members need Mana.
  • Reincarnation: lets you resurrect yourself after dying. Save it for moments when your return can prevent a wipe or let the group keep fighting.
  • Riptide: once you have it, use it regularly on targets taking damage. It gives an instant heal, a 15-second HoT and a 25% boost to your Chain Heal on that target.
  • Call of the Elements: saves and deploys your prepared Earth, Fire, Water and Air Totems together. Use it when you need several Totems at once, or before a pull to cut setup time.
  • Grounding Totem: absorbs an incoming harmful spell, giving you or an ally another way to dodge spell damage.

Damage Rotation

While leveling to 20, the Restoration damage rotation gets no help from the offensive talents of the Elemental tree, so protecting your Mana matters more than squeezing out damage.

  • Single target: apply Flame Shock, then use Lightning Bolt as your main ranged damage spell. Finish enemies with melee attacks when that fits.
  • AoE: against several enemies, drop Searing Totem and use Fire Nova while it is available. Stop when you need to preserve Mana for healing.

Healing Rotation

At level 20 your healing relies mainly on Healing Wave and good Totem placement. Set up support Totems before combat, then spend Mana on healing when the group takes damage.

  1. Set up Totems: place your support Totems before the pull. Use Strength of Earth Totem when the group buff helps, and Call of the Elements when you want several Totems down together.
  2. Heal injured targets: use Healing Wave on badly hurt allies, putting the tank first when you must choose.
  3. Use AoE damage in downtime: with little or no incoming damage and several enemies around, use Searing Totem and Fire Nova. Against a single enemy, use Lightning Bolt.
  4. Pool Mana: while the group is healthy, skip needless healing and damage casts. Use melee attacks when appropriate and let Mana regenerate for the next damage phase.

Want to practise this rotation somewhere forgiving? Ragefire Chasm is a good place to try it out with a friendly group.

WoW Forever Restoration Shaman Leveling

Leveling goes faster through group content than through solo questing, because Restoration has so few ways to deal damage. You can still quest alone with Lightning Bolt, Flame Shock and melee attacks, but enemies die more slowly than they would for a dedicated damage build.

Dungeons are a natural way to level as Restoration. You queue as a healer and keep the group alive through the hard pulls. As your Mana management improves, you can stay inside a dungeon longer without running dry.

If the solo road sounds like a chore, look for a group early. A dungeon run is both your fastest source of experience and the best place to learn your Totems.

Leveling Build

The leveling build improves your healing, Mana efficiency and Totem effectiveness as you go. The table lists the main talent milestones, from your first point to the final Riptide build.

Level Leveling milestone
14 Finish 5/5 Ancestral Knowledge.
19 Finish 5/5 Improved Healing Wave.
24 Finish 5/5 Totemic Focus.
27 Finish 3/3 Mindfulness.
32 Finish 5/5 Tidal Focus.
35 Finish 3/3 Ancestral Healing.
38 Finish 3/3 Healing Focus.
39 Take 1/1 Water Shield.
44 Finish 5/5 Tidal Mastery.
49 Finish 5/5 Restorative Totems.
50 Take 1/1 Mana Tide Totem.
53 Finish 3/3 Healing Way.
54 Take 1/1 Nature’s Swiftness.
59 Finish 5/5 Purification.
60 Take 1/1 Riptide, completing the build.

This path opens with Ancestral Knowledge, which the endgame table places in the Enhancement tree, and then fills out Restoration. That is a different order from the level 20 build earlier, so pick one line and stay with it. As always in beta, the details may still shift.

Leveling Rotation

Leveling is mostly about damage with Flame Shock and Lightning Bolt, plus healing when someone needs it. Restoration has none of the offensive talents that Elemental enjoys, so conserve Mana and lean on melee attacks whenever you can.

Tip: Do not spend too much Mana on damage while you level. Keep enough Mana in reserve for Healing Wave, especially against tough enemies or when you level in a group.

Class Quests

Restoration Shamans unlock their four Totem elements through class quests during leveling. These quests matter because each one rewards a Totem and opens up a new group of Totem abilities.

Level Quest Reward Unlocks
4 Call of Earth (Dwarf); Call of Earth (Orc/Troll); Call of Earth (Tauren); Call of Earth (Skyborne) Earth Totem Earth Totems, including Strength of Earth Totem
10 Call of Fire (Alliance); Call of Fire (Horde) Fire Totem Fire Totems, including Searing Totem
20 Call of Water (Alliance); Call of Water (Horde) Water Totem Water Totems, including Healing Stream Totem

Tip: The Call of Water quest chain needs a lot of travel between zones, so learn Ghost Wolf before you start it.

WoW Forever Restoration Shaman Stat Priority

The best Shaman stats for Restoration push up your healing output and keep you effective through long encounters. Healing Power improves your healing spells directly, while Critical Strike, Haste and Intellect add benefits for casting and Mana management.

Restoration Shaman stat priority:

  1. Healing Power: makes every healing spell stronger, so it comes first.
  2. Critical Strike: an extra layer of throughput on top of your Healing Power.
  3. Haste: helps your casting, so it follows Critical Strike.
  4. Intellect: supports your casting and Mana management.
  5. Mana per 5 Seconds: supports your Mana pool in longer fights.
  6. Spirit: worth more than usual thanks to Mindfulness, but still behind the stats above.
  7. Stamina: the last place on the list.

When two items offer similar stats, use this list as the tie-breaker rather than a strict law. A lower-priority stat on a much better piece of gear can still be an upgrade.

WoW Forever Restoration Shaman Best Gear

The best level 20 gear for a Restoration Shaman in WoW Forever comes from dungeons, quests and professions. The table lists useful upgrades for Healing Power, Intellect and other healer stats available during the beta.

Slot Item Source
Weapon Staff of Westfall Quest: The Defias Brotherhood
Legs Dreamer’s Leggings Quest: Underground Assault
Weapon Fang of Magmatus Hall of Thanes
Weapon Buzzer Blade Deadmines
Feet Moonglow Boots Leatherworking
Hands Hillman’s Leather Gloves Leatherworking

Dungeon drops and quest rewards are the main sources of early upgrades, and crafted items help fill the gaps between them. Some Forever beta items still show incorrect stats in game, so this list may change as testing continues.

If you would rather skip some of the hunting, there is a beta gearing option in our store.

Pre-Raid and Raid BiS

Pre-raid BiS for Restoration Shaman in WoW Forever will centre on Healing Power, Critical Strike, Haste and Intellect. The final level 60 list depends on the complete dungeon and raid loot pool becoming available, so hold on to alternative pieces with useful healing stats for different encounters.

The Earthfury Set is the Shaman Tier 1 set. It has eight pieces and gives bonuses at three, five and eight pieces.

  • 3 pieces: raises the radius of Totems that affect friendly targets to 30 yards.
  • 5 pieces: gives you a 25% chance to restore Mana equal to 35% of the base cost after casting Healing Wave or Lesser Healing Wave.
  • 8 pieces: lets Healing Wave jump to up to two additional nearby targets, with each jump reducing the healing by 80%.

Best Weapons

In the early beta levels, the best weapons come from quests and dungeons. Staff of Westfall is a handy quest reward, while Fang of Magmatus and Buzzer Blade are dungeon options to watch for.

As you level, swap these out for upgrades with stronger healing-related stats and better overall caster stats.

WoW Forever Best Restoration Shaman Consumables

The best consumables for a Restoration Shaman improve healing, Mana recovery and survivability. The options below cover the main picks for leveling and for level 60 PvE content.

Type Item Main use
Mana Potion Major Mana Potion Restores a large amount of Mana during combat
Mana Rune Dark Rune Restores Mana without sharing a cooldown with Mana Potions
Mana Rune Demonic Rune Restores Mana at the cost of Health
Flask Flask of Distilled Wisdom Raises maximum Mana for long encounters
Food Nightfin Soup Adds Mana regeneration
Food Sagefish Delight Adds Mana regeneration
Weapon Oil Brilliant Mana Oil Improves Mana regeneration and healing-related stats
Protection Potion Greater Fire Protection Potion Absorbs incoming Fire damage
Protection Potion Greater Nature Protection Potion Absorbs incoming Nature damage
Bandage Heavy Runecloth Bandage Heals without spending Mana

For most Restoration encounters, Mana consumables are the priority. Keep Major Mana Potions ready for hard fights, and let Dark Runes and Demonic Runes cover extra Mana recovery when you need it. Flasks, food and protection potions matter more in longer or more demanding encounters.

Tip: Because Dark Rune does not share a cooldown with Mana Potions, you can use both in the same fight for more total Mana back.

All of this adds up to a real Gold bill, particularly if you plan to raid often in WoW Forever, so budget for it early.

WoW Forever Best Restoration Shaman Enchants

The best enchants for Restoration improve healing, spell stats and general survivability. Spend on stronger enchants for gear you will keep, and use cheaper options while you level.

Slot Enchant Main benefit
Head / Legs Arcanum of Focus Increases Healing Power
Shoulders Zandalar Signet of Serenity +33 Healing Power
Cloak Enchant Cloak – Greater Resistance Adds extra resistances
Chest Enchant Chest – Greater Stats Improves overall stats
Bracers Enchant Bracer – Healing Power +24 Healing Power
Gloves Enchant Gloves – Healing Power +30 Healing Power
Boots Enchant Boots – Minor Speed Increases movement speed
Weapon Enchant Weapon – Healing Power Increases Healing Power
Shield Enchant Shield – Greater Stamina Adds Stamina

Notice how many of these simply add Healing Power, the stat at the top of your priority list. When money is tight, enchant the slots with the biggest Healing Power numbers first.

Best WoW Forever Restoration Shaman Professions

Professions can give a Restoration Shaman crafted gear, campfire bonuses and useful consumables while leveling. Skinning with Leatherworking is the gear-focused option, and Herbalism with Alchemy leans toward buffs, potions and other consumables.

Professions Best use
Skinning + Leatherworking Leather gear, Camp Chair and Camp Tent
Herbalism + Alchemy Herbs, potions, elixirs, Incense Candle and Mana Well

Skinning and Leatherworking let you collect leather from beasts and craft it into gear that gives useful upgrades while you level. The pair also unlocks the Camp Chair and the Camp Tent, which can add bonuses around campfires.

Herbalism and Alchemy let you gather your own herbs and brew potions and elixirs, and the Incense Candle and Mana Well provide further campfire bonuses.

Not sure which pair fits you? Choose gear if you want upgrades without hunting drops, and choose consumables if you would rather keep your Mana topped up. If you want a head start, our profession kits can help with the early work.

WoW Forever Restoration Shaman Macros

Good macros make healing, Totem placement and utility easier to handle in combat. They cut down on target switching and give you quick access to important abilities, without playing the game for you.

Healing Wave Macro

This mouseover macro for Healing Wave lets you heal an ally without changing your current target. Put these two lines into one macro:

  1. #showtooltip Healing Wave
  2. /cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][] Healing Wave

Purge Macro

This mouseover macro for Purge lets you remove a beneficial effect from an enemy without switching targets.

  1. #showtooltip Purge
  2. /cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Purge

Earth Shock Macro

This mouseover macro for Earth Shock lets you interrupt an enemy without changing your current target.

  1. #showtooltip Earth Shock
  2. /cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Earth Shock

Riptide Macro

This mouseover macro for Riptide lets you quickly put the HoT on an injured ally while your current target stays selected.

  1. #showtooltip Riptide
  2. /cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][] Riptide

Tip: All four macros follow the same pattern. The first bracket tells the game to use whatever your mouse is over, and the empty bracket after it falls back to your normal target, so you can reuse the structure for other spells later.

WoW Forever Restoration Shaman PvP

Restoration Shaman PvP in WoW Forever revolves around strong defensive control, instant healing and tools that disrupt enemy spells. Riptide gives you an instant heal and HoT and also improves a Chain Heal cast on the same target, which gives you extra options when allies are moving or taking damage.

Grounding Totem can absorb an incoming harmful spell, and Tremor Totem helps your group deal with Fear effects. Earth Shock interrupts enemy spellcasting, while Purge removes beneficial effects from enemies. Nature’s Swiftness can also make an important healing spell instant, an emergency option when an ally is in danger.

The common thread is reaction. You do not win by following a script, you win by spotting the threat first and answering with the right tool: a Totem, an interrupt, a dispel or an instant heal.

PvP Talents

Choose PvP talents that boost your healing, help your team survive longer and make life harder for the enemy with interrupts.

If PvP is your goal, our PvP services cover the honor side of the game, so you can concentrate on healing well.

Restoration Shaman Frequently Asked Questions

These are the questions players ask most about builds, healing, leveling, gear, professions and PvP.

How do you heal as a Restoration Shaman in WoW Forever?

Use Healing Wave for single-target healing, Chain Heal for groups and Riptide on injured allies, and keep the right Totems active while you do it. Healing Wave is your workhorse, Chain Heal covers group damage, and Riptide adds a HoT while strengthening Chain Heal on that target.

What race is best for Restoration Shaman in WoW Forever?

Orc is a strong Horde choice, and Dwarf is the only Alliance option. Troll, Tauren and Skyborne also work if you prefer them.

Is Restoration Shaman easy in WoW Forever?

It is relatively easy to learn, but healing well takes good Mana management, sensible Totem placement and awareness of incoming damage. The buttons are simple. The skill is in knowing when to press them.

Should a Resto Shaman use a staff or a shield?

Either works, but a shield with a one-handed weapon generally gives you more defence than a staff. Early on, a staff like Staff of Westfall can still be a handy quest reward, so use whatever gives you the best healing stats at your level.

Is Restoration Shaman good for solo leveling in WoW Forever?

It can solo level, but limited damage makes it slower than Elemental or Enhancement. Dungeons and groups are the better way to level this spec.

Is Restoration Shaman good for dungeons in WoW Forever?

Yes. It is great in dungeons thanks to strong healing, Chain Heal, Riptide, Totems and useful group utility.

Which stat should a Restoration Shaman stack first?

Healing Power. It improves your healing spells directly, and Critical Strike, Haste and Intellect follow it in the priority list.

Which professions suit a Restoration Shaman?

Skinning with Leatherworking is the gear-focused route, and Herbalism with Alchemy gives you potions, elixirs and campfire bonuses.

In short, Restoration Shaman offers reliable healing and valuable group support across dungeons, raids and PvP. Knowing when to heal, reposition, use utility and support your group can decide a difficult encounter. Refine your talents and gear as you reach higher-level content and new raid tiers.
