The Short List: What to Install First
Checked 12 October 2026. Every addon below has a file for MoP Classic on CurseForge, and the date in the table is the date of its latest MoP Classic file.
Addons are allowed in MoP Classic as long as they follow the game’s terms of service, and the Midnight restrictions on combat data apply only to Retail. Start with these five and add the rest as you need them:

Download addons from CurseForge or another trusted site and pick the MoP Classic version of each file. Retail files will not load.
Boss Mods, Meters and Auras
- Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) has pre-made timers and warnings for nearly every encounter, including Siege of Orgrimmar. BigWigs does the same job with a different design. Pick the one your raid uses, because raid leaders often ask for one of them.
- Details! shows damage, healing, interrupts, dispels and deaths, and its plugin Tiny Threat tracks aggro. It replaces older meters.
- WeakAuras has a Classic version, even though the Retail version ended with Midnight. You can import ready-made setups from Wago. Use it for procs, buff uptime and trinket timers. If you also play Retail, see our Midnight add-ons guide for what still works there.
- Plater replaces nameplates and adds cast bars, debuff tracking and per-role colors (v658, 10 Oct 2026).
- GTFO plays an audio warning when you stand in something harmful (6.12, 5 Oct 2026).
A simple combination for any raider: DBM or BigWigs, Details!, WeakAuras and Plater.
ReforgeLite: The Addon Only MoP Needs
Mists of Pandaria brought back reforging: you move a part of one secondary stat on an item into another. Doing it by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. ReforgeLiteMopClassic is an updated ReforgeLite for MoP Classic. You enter stat priorities or caps, and it shows reforges and applies them at the NPC. Icy Veins recommends it in its gear guides.
The addon’s CurseForge page lists game versions 5.5.1 to 5.5.4 and a latest file V14 from 28 July 2026. Use it with your class guide’s hit and expertise caps: the Icy Veins guides we checked put the cap at 7.5% for Hunters and 15% hit for Mages, and use reforging to reach those numbers and then maximize the next stat.

Postal’s last MoP Classic file is almost a year old. It still lists the flavor, but test it after a patch. If you do not want to learn TSM, Auctionator covers most players.
Interface and Quality of Life
- Bagnon merges your bags into one searchable window (12.1.6, 4 Oct 2026).
- Leatrix Plus sells grey items, repairs, speeds up looting and skips gossip (5.1.58-mists).
- OmniCC adds numbers to cooldown icons (11.2.8, 14 Dec 2025).
We removed TidyPlates because CurseForge lists only a Retail file from 2024. Plater is the active alternative.
PvP Addons
The classic arena frame Gladius is not available for MoP Classic: its CurseForge page lists only a Retail file from 2020. These two work as replacements, and you should run only one of them:

Healer Frames
VuhDo is a raid-frame addon with click-casting, aggro and debuff tracking and HoT displays. It has a MoP Classic file named v3.218-mopc-mists from 7 October 2026. Healers also use Details! to check overhealing and WeakAuras for cooldown tracking.

Check the “Game Versions” filter on each CurseForge page. It must say “MoP Classic” (the page shows a Mists of Pandaria Classic tag on the file). Some projects keep separate pages for each client, as GatherMate2 does with its classic project.
After each game patch, update all addons before you log in to a raid. Boss mods and WeakAuras were updated in the last two weeks, so a stale copy is the first thing to check if an alert stops firing.
