Content:
Key Takeaways
- Story gate: reach level 45 through the main story, then get to 1,000 GS so you can keep going with the Abyss storyline.
- Cheap route to 1,400: clear the horizontal content, spend every Daevanion Point, finish the Belt and Amulet upgrades, add cheap Manastones and keep enhancements small, so your Odyle stays untouched.
- Level 70 gear: at 1,400 GS, farm 2-star Conquest in Vakron Sky Island first (armor), then Urugugu Canyon (weapons and accessories), and push toward 1,600 GS.
- Arcana is the big jump: at 1,600 GS fill all five Arcana slots in Transcendence Stage 1, then at 1,900 GS go hunting for Blue Arcana in Stage 2.
- Final stretch: at 2,000 GS craft the Unique Chalice of Vigor through the Hard Ascension Trial route, finish the climb to 2,100 GS and open the 3-star Conquest dungeons.
If you only read one thing, make it this: Gear Score is a key that opens the next piece of content, so you spend resources only where they get you through the next door. The sections below walk through every breakpoint in order, with the cheapest way to cross each one.
How Gear Score Works in AION 2
Think of Gear Score as your entry ticket to higher-level PvE content. Combat Power gives a better picture of how strong your character really is, but during early endgame progression it is GS that decides whether the game even lets you walk into the next dungeon.
The AION 2 dungeons guide covers every dungeon type and its rewards.
The moment you hit level 45 in AION 2, Gear Score becomes something you have to manage, because most of the harder content and the better rewards sit behind specific GS requirements. The story already asks for 1,000 GS before you can enter the Abyss. After that, the two numbers worth watching are 1,400 and 2,100 GS.
One thing surprises many players: your GS does not come only from the item level printed on your gear. Several other systems feed into the total as well, and some of them are far cheaper to use than the Enhancement window. These are the main sources you should know while you push toward 2,100:
| GS Source | Gear Score Gain |
|---|---|
| Gear enhancement | +1 GS per level |
| Gray Manastone line | +1 GS |
| Green Manastone line | +2 GS |
| Blue Manastone line | +3 GS |
| Yellow Manastone line | +4 GS |
| Daevanion Point | +1 GS |
| Gray Arcana | +20 GS |
| Green Arcana | +40 GS |
| Blue Arcana | +60 GS |
| Unique Arcana | +80 GS |
Look at that table for a second and the logic of this whole guide becomes obvious. One Arcana card is worth twenty to eighty enhancement levels, and a single Daevanion Point is worth the same GS as one enhancement level while costing far less. So you can’t rely on the Enhancement window alone to hit your target. If you are 15 or 20 points short, you will often find those points much cheaper in Daevanion, Manastones or Arcana than by tapping a pile of temporary items.
Until you reach the later endgame, the mindset is simple: GS gets you into the next piece of content, and CP optimization comes afterwards. Perfect Soul Binding rolls, expensive Manastones and other min-maxing can wait. Right now the only goal is to clear the next requirement without burning resources on gear you are about to replace.
A practical way to use the table: before you spend anything, work out how many GS points you are missing, then look for the cheapest row that covers the gap. A handful of missing points is a job for Daevanion Points or a couple of Manastone lines. A gap of a hundred or more is a job for Arcana. Enhancement levels sit in the middle, and they are best used as a final top-up once the cheaper sources are exhausted.
AION 2 Gear Score Breakpoints
There are several GS requirements during progression, but they are not all equally important. Here are the community-found numbers worth keeping in your head:
| Gear Score | What It Gives You |
|---|---|
| 1,000 GS | Abyss/story progression |
| 1,400 GS | 2-star Conquest |
| 1,600 GS | Transcendence Stage 1 |
| 1,900 GS | Transcendence Stage 2 |
| 2,000 GS | Important Hard Ascension Trial progression |
| 2,100 GS | 3-star Conquest |
The AION 2 leveling guide walks you through the route to level 45.
Note: these thresholds were found by the community in the first days after launch, so treat them as a very good map rather than a guarantee. Patches can shift the numbers, and it is worth glancing at the in-game requirement text before you plan a big spending spree.
The 1,400 GS jump
At 1,400 GS you unlock the 2-star Conquest dungeons Vakron Sky Island and Urugugu Canyon. This is the first moment where I would seriously start spending Odyle on dungeon Cubes, because these runs can drop level 70 gear, which is a huge step up from the level 45–54 gear you wear before that. Vakron Sky Island is especially good for armor progression, while Urugugu Canyon gives you level 70 weapons and accessories. Both also give much better long-term value from their Conquest Cubes than the earlier Expeditions, so spending lots of Odyle before 1,400 usually just means paying for gear that you will replace almost immediately.
The 2,100 GS jump
The next major breakpoint is 2,100 GS, which unlocks Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den in 3-star Conquest. These dungeons lift you to item level 86 gear. Fire Temple turns into one of your main sources of higher-tier weapons and accessories, while Ferocious Horn Den drops the Nuakum armor set and Guard. From here you are no longer inflating GS just to open the next door. You are replacing your level 70 pieces with gear that can stay relevant much deeper into Season 1.
The checkpoints in between
The remaining numbers are checkpoints on the road between those two big jumps. At 1,600 you unlock another source of GS through Arcana, then you keep going. The same is true for 1,900 and 2,000: each one opens a new system or a better version of one you already use, and each one is covered in its own section below.
How to Reach 1,000 Gear Score in AION 2
You do not really need to farm specifically for 1,000 GS. If you have been following the main story quest line, equipping the obvious upgrades and doing some side content along the way, you should already be somewhere close to this number when the story asks you to enter the Abyss. If you would rather skip the early levelling grind and arrive at level 45 faster, there is always the option of AION 2 powerleveling, but nothing in this stage requires it.
By level 45 you have already learned that you must finish all of your horizontal content to meet the requirements of the next Ascension quest. Gear Score works the same way. The moment you feel stuck, your first move is to go and do your horizontals.
To see every way to upgrade a piece, read the AION 2 gearing guide.
Do not invest much in levelling gear. Your weapon is worth taking to around +3 to +5, because that makes levelling smoother and costs very little. Beyond that, do not go crazy on random pieces you already know you will swap out.
If you are slightly under 1,000 GS at the moment you need it, run through this short list:
- Equip any better quest gear that is sitting in your bag.
- Spend the Daevanion Points you have available.
- Add cheap Manastones to your better pieces.
- Enhance one or two useful items if you are still short.
That is usually all it takes. Once you are past the Abyss story requirement, forget about 1,000 completely, because the real push starts right after it.
The reason this stage feels so relaxed is that the game is handing you upgrades for free. Quest rewards keep your gear moving along naturally, so the less you fight that flow with expensive purchases, the more resources you carry into the real push. Treat 1,000 GS as a box to tick on your way through the story, not as a goal to optimize.
How to Reach 1,400 Gear Score in AION 2
This is the first breakpoint where it is very easy to waste a lot of resources for no reason. Before you start throwing Odyle, Enhance Stones and Kinah at temporary gear, clear the horizontal content first. It is the cheapest source of GS in the whole game, and it pays you back in materials too.
Need more currency? The AION 2 Kinah farming guide lists the best methods.
Finish All Horizontal Content After Level 45
Once you are level 45, go back and clean up the map. Here is what you want to complete:
- all remaining Seal Dungeons;
- all Strongholds;
- remaining Regional quests;
- Feathers for your Monolith;
- post-45 quests that reward equipment;
- the Hugo quest chain for your second bracelet;
- Seal Dungeons and Strongholds on the opposite faction map;
- Abyss Feathers.
It takes a little time, but this is the cheapest part of your entire GS progression. Many of these activities hand out Daevanion Points or materials, and every Daevanion Point you spend is one more point of GS. The Seal Dungeons on the opposite faction map are especially valuable because they also give a lot of Enhance Stones, and you will need plenty of those very soon.
Go Through the Space-Time Rift
To clear the opposite faction map you have to travel through the Space-Time Rift. Once you arrive, focus on three things:
- Seal Dungeons;
- Strongholds;
- Regional quests tied to that area.
There is no need to wander around farming random monsters. Clear the progression content and leave.
Warning: be careful around the guards over there. They will one-shot you, and dying sends you back outside the rift, which wastes the time you just spent getting in.
Finish Your Belt and Amulet Progression
The Belt and the Amulet are two pieces I am happy to invest in early, because they stay relevant much longer than normal quest gear. The reason is that your belt is the only belt in the game right now, and you will not be getting another one. Instead, you enhance it and then move it up to a higher grade or rarity. The amulet works exactly the same way.
The basic progression looks like this:
- Enhance the Green version to +10.
- Unequip it.
- Open Substance Morph.
- Morph it into the Blue version.
- Take the Blue version to +10.
- Morph it into the Unique version.
Do this for both the Belt and the Amulet. One small detail that trips people up: the item has to be unequipped from every preset before you can morph it. Once you hold the Unique version, stop there for now. You do not have to keep pouring resources into it just because you can.
Why is this worth doing so early? Because these two slots never get replaced by a new item. Every enhancement level you put in now is still counting toward your GS many breakpoints later, which is the opposite of what happens with quest armor. If you only have enough Enhance Stones for a few upgrades, the Belt and the Amulet should get them first.
Get Your Two Bracelets and Guard
Make sure both bracelets are sorted. One comes from your post-45 Ascension progression, and the other comes from the longer Hugo Regional quest chain.
The Unique bracelet from Ascension is worth taking to +10, because you will keep it for quite a while. The second bracelet can also be enhanced if you need the GS. Both are much better early investments than dumping Enhance Stones into every random armor piece from the story.
You also receive a Unique Guard, which is the third Unique item your character gets just for reaching the max level. That is one more reason you do not need to open dungeon Cubes before 1,400 GS, although there are a few exceptions that I cover below.
Don’t Enhance Every Piece of Quest Gear
This is probably the most important lesson before 1,400. You do not need to take every Blue item to +5 or +10. Enhancing up to +10 is safe, and you get all the enhancement stones back if you extract the gear later. It is only above +10 that a success chance starts rolling, which is where you can waste resources.
My priority list for upgrades, from first to last:
- Belt and Amulet.
- Unique bracelet.
- Unique Guard.
- Daevanion Points.
- Cheap Manastones.
- Main quest weapon, if needed.
- Other gear, only if you are still short.
Your level 45 main story weapon is fine at around +5. You can go higher if you need the GS, but do not push it to +10 automatically just because you can. The same goes for the Guard.
Use Manastones for Cheap GS
Manastones are one of the easiest ways to close the last part of the gap. Every stat line gives a fixed amount of GS depending on its colour:
- Gray: +1 GS
- Green: +2 GS
- Blue: +3 GS
- Yellow: +4 GS
At this stage the exact stats do not matter. If you roll a few Green and Blue lines, that is already good enough. Use Lesser Manastones first, and reach for Intermediate ones if you need them. Keep your Superior Manastones for gear you are actually going to wear for a long time, because there is no point burning expensive stones to make a temporary quest item look perfect. If you need a stock of Kinah for stones and Enhance Stones, you can always buy AION 2 Kinah and skip a few hours of gathering.
Spend All of Your Daevanion Points
If you are chasing 1,400 and have Daevanion Points sitting unspent, spend them now. Each point is worth 1 GS, and it does not matter whether the node is amazing for your build. The Gear Score comes from the points you put into the board, not from the quality of the node. You will collect plenty of points from horizontal content, and there are extra sources too:
- Shugo;
- Nightmare;
- Regional content;
- other progression rewards.
Later in the game you will care a lot more about where those points go. For now, just spend them.
Collect Abyss Feathers
Do not forget the Abyss Monolith. There are plenty of Feathers in the Abyss, and progressing the Monolith gives you another chunk of GS. This is exactly the type of source that can save you from enhancing another ten pieces of gear. If you are sitting at 1,330 or 1,350 GS after clearing most of the normal map, go and check how much Abyss progression you are still missing.
Collecting Feathers is not guaranteed to be easy. The Abyss is an open-PvP location, so depending on the time of day you might get hunted while you try, or you might find it nice and quiet. It is still worth the attempt, and you are not really losing anything when you die, so keep trying. This is also where you will start to feel how much raising your Gear Score matters. If you want to learn more about how this zone works, look for an AION 2 Abyss guide, because the area is pretty unique.
Should You Open Dungeon Cubes Before 1,400?
My honest answer is to avoid it as much as you can. AION 2 is a bit special here: you do not want to run dungeons the instant they become available, because opening the final reward Cube costs Odyle. A separate dungeon guide for AION 2 is still on the way, so I will keep this section short.
The problem with most lower-level dungeon rewards is that you are about to replace them. You might spend a lot of Odyle on a piece that looks great today, enter 2-star Conquest, and swap it out for level 70 gear almost immediately. The quest does not always demand that you open the Cube either. In many cases you only need to finish the dungeon, so if you want to be efficient, clear it and keep your Odyle.
The route I recommend is: Horizontals → Daevanion → Belt/Amulet → Manastones → small enhancements → 1,400. That lets you unlock 2-star Conquest with most of your Odyle still in your pocket.
There is an alternative if you do not care about squeezing the maximum value out of every point of Odyle. You can use Exploration pity rewards to guarantee a big armor upgrade, which makes the 1,400 push easier. It works, but you will simply have less Odyle available once the better rewards open up. If you want the fastest and easiest route, it is a valid option.
What If You’re Still Below 1,400?
If you finished the map and you are still short, do not panic and start throwing resources in every direction. Go through this list instead:
- Spend every Daevanion Point you still have.
- Make sure your good pieces carry Manastones.
- Replace terrible all-Gray Manastone rolls if you can get better ones cheaply.
- Finish the Abyss Feather progression.
- Check Shugo and Nightmare for more Daevanion progression.
- Enhance useful pieces a few more times.
- Push your main story weapon or Guard a little higher if needed.
There is no reason to sit at 1,399 hunting for the mathematically perfect upgrade. Get to 1,400, because that is where the better progression begins.
It also helps to write down your current GS before and after each change you make. When you see how many points a batch of Manastones gave compared with the same batch of enhancement levels, it becomes easy to judge which source is worth your next materials, and you stop guessing.
What to Do at 1,400 Gear Score
Once you reach 1,400 GS, stop spending resources on random quest gear and start farming 2-star Conquest. This is the first point where opening dungeon Cubes is genuinely worth the Odyle, because Vakron Sky Island and Urugugu Canyon can drop level 70 gear that will carry you through the next several GS breakpoints. If you prefer to skip some of that grind, you can also look at AION 2 dungeon runs, but the route below works fine on your own.
Start with Vakron Sky Island. The reason is simple: its loot pool is easier to turn into immediate upgrades, and you want to replace as much of your old quest armor as possible before you move your Odyle elsewhere. Urugugu Canyon matters too, especially for weapons and accessories, but early on Vakron usually offers a cleaner progression path.
Your plan at 1,400 looks like this:
- Start running Vakron Sky Island Conquest.
- Open the Cube after each run and look for level 70 upgrades.
- Keep farming until most of your armor slots have been replaced.
- Only then put more Odyle into Urugugu Canyon for the remaining slots.
- Enhance the useful level 70 pieces you get, instead of spending more on the old quest gear.
Use your Exploration selector wisely
If you own an Exploration pity reward that lets you pick a specific piece, do not immediately take whatever looks best. Run Conquest first, because you may well drop that exact piece naturally, and then you would have wasted a guaranteed selector on a duplicate.
Tip: the better order is random Conquest drops first and the guaranteed selector second. Once you know which slot refuses to drop, use the Exploration reward to fill exactly that gap.
When to move over to Urugugu Canyon
You do not have to complete an entire Vakron set before you touch Urugugu. Move over when most of the obvious armor upgrades are covered and your weapon or accessories are the pieces holding your GS back. As a rough target, around six or seven useful Vakron pieces is a perfectly reasonable point to start shifting more attention to Urugugu. From there you use both dungeons together to fill the remaining level 70 slots.
What to Do at 1,600 Gear Score
At 1,600 GS you unlock Transcendence Stage 1, and it should immediately become your next priority. Do not keep dumping Odyle into Conquest without doing this first. Transcendence gives you Arcana cards, and Arcana adds a huge amount of GS compared with a few more enhancement levels.
You need to run both of these:
- Deus Research Base
- Shattered Arkanis
They do not share the same Arcana pool, so running only one of them can leave some of your slots empty. At Stage 1 your goal is not perfect cards. Your goal is simply to fill all five Arcana slots. Even a Gray Arcana gives 20 GS, so five filled slots give you around another 100 GS almost right away. If you happen to get Green Arcana, even better, since each one is worth 40 GS.
At this point you can safely ignore:
- perfect Arcana skills;
- ideal combinations;
- set bonuses;
- min-maxed stats.
Just equip the highest-rarity Arcana you own. Once all five slots are filled, go back to farming 2-star Conquest. The idea is to let Arcana do the heavy lifting on the GS counter while the dungeons keep improving your level 70 gear in the background.
It is tempting to wait for a better card before you equip anything, but an empty slot is worth zero GS and a Gray card is worth 20. Fill the slot today and replace the card tomorrow when something better turns up. That small habit is how you collect the easiest big chunk of GS in the whole 1,400–1,900 range.
How to Reach 1,900 Gear Score
From around 1,600–1,700 GS onwards, progression becomes more about filling your remaining level 70 slots and improving the gear you already have. This stretch can be annoying because RNG matters more here. You might get several upgrades in a row, or burn a lot of Odyle waiting for one missing slot. This is what I recommend:
- Keep farming Vakron Sky Island for missing armor.
- Run Urugugu Canyon for weapons and accessories.
- Fill every Arcana slot from Stage 1 Transcendence.
- Take useful level 70 gear toward +10.
- Put Lesser or Intermediate Manastones into those pieces.
- Keep buying extra Daevanion progression from Shugo and Nightmare.
- Use Exploration selectors to fill the slots that refuse to drop.
By now enhancing gear makes far more sense than it did earlier. These level 70 pieces will not be replaced after a single quest, so taking the useful ones to +10 is fine. I still would not start using Superior Manastones, though. Lesser Manastones are enough for GS, and Intermediate ones are a reasonable choice if you are struggling to hit the next requirement.
Use Shugo and Nightmare Dungeons for Guaranteed GS
When dungeon RNG treats you badly, remember that Daevanion gives you guaranteed progression. Keep doing Shugo and Nightmare Dungeons, then spend the relevant currencies on more Daevanion progression. Nightmare is especially useful, because you should keep pushing higher boss difficulties for first-clear rewards instead of sitting on the same easy stage.
Keep an eye on your Duties as well. If you see rewards such as these, they are usually the ones I would prioritize, because they feed straight back into your GS progression:
- Odyle;
- Shugo entries or keys;
- Nightmare tickets.
What If You’re Stuck Before 1,900?
Go through your character slot by slot and ask yourself these questions:
- Are you still wearing low-item-level armor?
- Are you missing any Arcana slots?
- Are useful level 70 items still sitting at +0?
- Do some pieces still have no Manastones?
- Do you have unspent Daevanion Points?
- Can you buy more Daevanion progression from Nightmare or Shugo?
- Have you already used your Exploration selector intelligently?
In most cases the missing GS is spread across several small things rather than hiding in one huge upgrade. Fixing three or four of those little gaps usually carries you past the wall.
What to Do at 1,900 Gear Score
At 1,900 GS you unlock Transcendence Stage 2. This time you are not just filling slots. You are looking for Blue Arcana. Stage 2 gives you a much better chance to replace the Gray and Green cards you picked up earlier, and the GS difference between rarities is large:
- Gray Arcana: 20 GS
- Green Arcana: 40 GS
- Blue Arcana: 60 GS
Replacing a single Gray card with a Blue one is already another 40 GS. A few Blue Arcana will therefore move your Gear Score much faster than another pile of small gear enhancements ever could.
Just like in Stage 1, run both Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis, because their Arcana pools cover different slots. And do not start chasing the perfect Blue Arcana yet. If a Blue card fits the slot, equip it and move on. You can refine your cards later, once the number on your screen stops blocking you.
This is also a good moment to remember what you picked up in Stage 1. Any Gray or Green card that gets replaced is not useless, because spare cards come in handy later when you reach the Arcana extraction step at 2,000 GS. Do not throw them away just yet.
How to Reach 2,000 Gear Score
The climb from 1,900 to 2,000 is mostly about squeezing more value out of the systems you already use. Your main sources are:
- Blue Arcana from Transcendence Stage 2;
- remaining level 70 gear upgrades;
- +10 enhancements;
- Daevanion Points;
- Manastone lines.
This is also the moment to look at your weakest slots instead of blindly running the same dungeon over and over. If most of your armor is already level 70 but your accessories are poor, put more Odyle into Urugugu Canyon. If you are still missing armor, keep running Vakron Sky Island. And if all your gear looks decent but the GS number is not there yet, shift your focus to these four systems:
- Arcana;
- Daevanion;
- enhancements;
- Manastones.
You do not need a perfect character to hit 2,000. You just need enough progress spread across all of these systems. Once you reach 2,000 GS, a very important shortcut opens up, and the next section is all about it.
A short audit helps here. Open your character, find the single slot that contributes the least, and ask which of the systems above can fix it most cheaply. Repeating that check every few runs keeps your Odyle pointed at the real bottleneck instead of at the dungeon you happened to be standing in.
What to Do at 2,000 Gear Score
At 2,000 GS you can use Hard Ascension Trial progression to work toward a Unique Chalice of Vigor. It is worth the effort, because a Unique Arcana gives 80 GS, and the Chalice is normally one of the harder Arcana slots to improve naturally. To craft it you need 5 Mysterious Crystals.
The route goes like this:
- Run the Hard Ascension Trial.
- Reach the required seasonal score milestones.
- Collect 3 Mysterious Crystals from the relevant Trial season rewards.
- Buy 1 Mysterious Crystal from the Season Shop.
- Get 1 Mysterious Crystal through Arcana extraction.
- Use all five to craft your Unique Chalice of Vigor.
For Arcana extraction, consume spare cards you are not using anymore until the extraction progress fills up and you receive the Crystal. Buy only one Crystal from the Season Shop for this recipe.
Why Craft Chalice of Vigor
The Chalice is one of the harder slots to upgrade naturally at this point in the game. Crafting a Unique one gives you a big GS jump right away, instead of making you wait for much later Transcendence progression. When you choose the additional skill effect, pick one important skill for your class and leave it there. Do not add a second skill yet, because the cost jumps massively and this is not your final Arcana anyway. You are using it to accelerate your progress toward 2,100. Once the Unique Chalice is equipped, you are in the final stretch. If you want to compare what is on offer for the endgame before you commit your time, the AION 2 services page lists everything in one place.
How to Reach 2,100 Gear Score
At this stage there is no secret system left to unlock. You just have to finish the job. Work through the following list in order:
- Replace any remaining low-item-level gear.
- Keep farming Blue Arcana from Transcendence Stage 2.
- Equip your Unique Chalice of Vigor.
- Take useful level 70 gear to +10.
- Spend your remaining Daevanion Points.
- Buy more Daevanion progression from Shugo and Nightmare if available.
- Add or improve cheap Manastone rolls.
- Use any remaining Exploration selector on the slot you still cannot replace.
The order matters because the early items on the list are the biggest and most reliable GS gains, while the later ones are small top-ups. If you are only a few points short, this is also the place where I do not mind using a slightly less efficient source just to cross the line.
If you hit a wall at this stage, run through the same slot-by-slot audit from the 1,900 section. Low-item-level pieces, unspent Daevanion Points and Manastone-free items are the classic hidden gaps, and they are the quickest to fix.
Tip: there is no reason to sit at 2,095 waiting for the perfect drop when five cheap GS points get you into the next tier of content.
What to Do at 2,100 Gear Score
Once you hit 2,100 GS, you unlock the 3-star Conquest dungeons:
- Fire Temple
- Ferocious Horn Den
This is the point where you start replacing your level 70 gear with the next tier of equipment. These dungeons can drop item level 86 gear, which is exactly why reaching 2,100 matters so much. You are not pushing the number for the sake of a bigger number. You are unlocking another major jump in the quality of gear you can farm.
Which dungeon to run first depends on the slots that are still weak. If you are still wearing an old weapon or weak accessories, Fire Temple becomes very important. If your armor and Guard need replacing, Ferocious Horn Den gives you another path forward.
From the number to the quality
From this point on, start thinking more about the actual quality of your items instead of GS alone. That means working on these areas:
- better Soul Binding stats;
- proper Manastone stats;
- higher-tier Manastones;
- Amplification;
- crafted long-term gear;
- transferring progress into better drops.
Before 2,100 I mostly wanted the number. After 2,100 I care much more about whether the item itself is actually good. That is the natural place where the min-maxing we postponed in the first section finally starts to pay off.
Gear Score Progression Checklist
If you do not want to reread the whole guide each time you get stuck, use this table as your quick reference:
| Your GS | What You Should Do |
|---|---|
| Below 1,000 | Main story, quest gear, Daevanion, cheap Manastones |
| 1,000–1,400 | Finish horizontals, Rift content, Belt/Amulet, Abyss Feathers, Daevanion |
| 1,400 | Start Vakron Sky Island Conquest |
| 1,400–1,600 | Farm level 70 gear, then add Urugugu Canyon |
| 1,600 | Run Transcendence Stage 1 and fill all Arcana slots |
| 1,600–1,900 | More level 70 gear, +10 useful pieces, Manastones, Shugo/Nightmare Daevanion |
| 1,900 | Run Transcendence Stage 2 for Blue Arcana |
| 1,900–2,000 | Blue Arcana and remaining level 70 upgrades |
| 2,000 | Hard Ascension Trial → 5 Mysterious Crystals → Unique Chalice of Vigor |
| 2,000–2,100 | Final gear, Arcana, Daevanion, enhancement and Manastone cleanup |
| 2,100 | Start Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den in 3-star Conquest |
Find your current GS in the left column, do what the right column says, and ignore everything else until you cross the next line. That single habit saves more Odyle, Enhance Stones and Kinah than any individual trick in this guide.
Bookmark this page and come back to the table whenever you are unsure what to do next. Because each row points to one clear action, you will spend far less time wondering whether you should be running a dungeon, filling Arcana slots or just spending your points.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the fastest way to increase Gear Score in AION 2?
Combine several GS sources instead of relying on gear enhancement alone. Daevanion Points, Manastones, Belt and Amulet progression, Arcana and higher-item-level drops all work together, and you should only enhance gear when you still need a few extra points at the end.
Should I spend Odyle before reaching 1,400 GS?
Try not to spend much of it. Most early dungeon gear is replaced very quickly, so Odyle gives far better value once you can run Vakron Sky Island and Urugugu Canyon in 2-star Conquest, where level 70 gear drops.
Which dungeon should I farm first at 1,400 Gear Score?
Start with Vakron Sky Island, because its loot pool is easier to turn into immediate armor upgrades. When most of your armor slots are covered, move more of your Odyle into Urugugu Canyon for weapons and accessories.
What should I do if I am stuck below 1,900 or 2,100 GS?
Check the small GS sources before you wait for one lucky drop. Make sure every Arcana slot is filled, useful level 70 gear is enhanced, Manastones are equipped, Daevanion Points are spent and your Shugo or Nightmare rewards have been turned into extra progression.
Is it worth enhancing quest gear before level 70 gear?
Only a little. Your Belt, Amulet, Unique bracelet and Guard are worth real investment because you keep them for a long time, and your main story weapon is fine at around +5. For the rest of your quest gear, a few cheap Manastones and small enhancements are plenty.
Do I need to open every dungeon Cube?
No. Before 1,400 GS you can often just finish the dungeon for the quest and keep your Odyle. From 1,400 GS onwards, opening the Cube in 2-star Conquest is where the Odyle starts to pay off.
What should I do after reaching 2,100 Gear Score?
You can start farming Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den in 3-star Conquest. The focus then shifts from simply raising GS to swapping level 70 gear for item level 86 equipment, and to improving things like Soul Binding, better Manastones and Amplification.
Should I worry about perfect stats while I am still climbing?
No. Until 2,100 GS the number is what matters, so Lesser Manastones, rough Arcana choices and a single skill on your Chalice are all fine. Perfecting rolls and stats makes sense after 2,100, when your gear is going to stay with you for much longer.
