From early January to late February 2025, The War Within will host the “Turbulent Timeways“ event. During this time, heroes will embark on weekly timewalking adventures through various expansions, enjoy a 30% XP boost, and earn a unique mount for their dedication.
Turbulent Timeways Overview
This event is accessible to characters level 10 and above.
Weekly Timewalking Adventures
The Turbulent Timeways event in Season 1 of The War Within runs from January 8 to February 26, 2025. During this period, players can engage in timewalking activities beyond the regular schedule. These include:
- Participating in timewalking dungeons and raids.
- Completing weekly quests.
- Earning reputation bonuses with relevant factions.
- Visiting the Timewalking Vendor to purchase goods with Timewarped Badges.
For level 80 characters, Archivist Fritrun in Darnagel or the Adventure Guide offers the weekly quest “A Path Through Time”, requiring the completion of five timewalking dungeons or defeating five timewalking bosses. Completing this quest rewards an upgraded Cache of Nerubian Treasures, containing loot from Nerub’ar Palace of Heroic quality (610-262 item level, “Hero” upgrade level 1-6/6).
The event runs continuously for seven weeks, with the following schedule:
- Week 1: January 8-15 – Mists of Pandaria
- Week 2: January 15-22 – Warlords of Draenor
- Week 3: January 22-29 – Legion
- Week 4: January 29 – February 5 – Classic World of Warcraft
- Week 5: February 5-12 – The Burning Crusade
- Week 6: February 12-19 – Wrath of the Lich King
- Week 7: February 19-26 – Cataclysm
Experience Bonus
Completing a timewalking dungeon through the group finder grants the “Knowledge of Timeways“ buff, increasing XP gained from quests and kills by 5% for 2 hours. Each subsequent dungeon run extends the buff’s duration by an additional hour and increases its potency by another 5%.
When the buff reaches 4 stacks, it transforms into “Mastery of Timeways“, providing a 30% XP boost for 3 hours. This effect is perfect for leveling alternate characters efficiently. Further dungeon completions refresh the buff’s duration to 3 hours before it expires.
Taming the Timeways Achievement
During the event, players can work toward the “Master of the Turbulent Timeways II“ achievement, which awards the Timely Buzzbee. To earn this achievement, you must achieve the maximum “Mastery of Timeways” buff at least once per week for five weeks. These weeks do not have to be consecutive.
Achievement Details:
- Progress is account-wide, so you can work toward the achievement on different characters across weeks.
- However, building up the “Knowledge of Timeways“ stacks must be done on the same character for that week, as the stacks are character-specific.

- The Sandy Shalewing mount from the original “Master of the Turbulent Timeways“ achievement is now available for purchase from any Timewalking Vendor for 5,000 Timewarped Badges.
