Tier 1 in Season of Discovery comes from Molten Core, the level 60 raid inside Blackrock Mountain that Phase 4 revamped for 20 players, with room for up to 40. The raid has been available since the launch of Phase 4 on 11 July 2024. The lot covers raid runs for a character that is collecting its class's Tier 1 pieces.

Key facts

Where it drops	Molten Core, revamped in Season of Discovery as a 20-player raid that allows up to 40 players
Difficulty levels	Three difficulty levels, changed by talking to Duke Hydraxis at the entrance; harder levels add mechanics and extra loot
Core Forged	From Phase 5 Core Forged armor keeps the Tier 1 set bonuses on Tier 2 item level and look
Added in	Phase 4, together with the Season of Discovery Molten Core
Completion methods	Piloted
Faction	Horde, Alliance
Add-ons you can pick	Stream

The raid

Lockout: one week.
Sweltering Heat: the default difficulty, approachable by most groups with little preparation.
Blistering Heat: most bosses drop one more item, and taking fire damage applies Conflagration, which kills players with less than 96 Fire Resistance.
Molten Heat: the same loot as Blistering Heat, but weapons can drop with a Molten visual effect. The eleventh boss, The Molten Core, can be challenged only here.

The difficulty is changed at any time by talking to Duke Hydraxis at the entrance. It does not change the quality of the loot.

Why Tier 1 still matters

From Phase 5, Core Forged armor has the look, stats and item level of Tier 2 but keeps the set bonuses of the Tier 1 sets. Core Forged pieces are bought from the Hydraxians inside the entrance for the matching Draconic piece, so the Tier 1 bonuses stay in use.

The options of this lot

Piloted: the only method. The booster plays your character in the raid.
Faction: Horde or Alliance.
Stream: an add-on for watching.

Requirements

A level 60 Season of Discovery character, as the raid is level 60.
Your class, the target pieces and the difficulty, which you agree with the manager in live chat or Discord. The lot does not count runs.

Tier 1 FAQ

How many pieces does Tier 1 have?
