Monument of Triumph is the last live-service update of Destiny 2. Bungie released it on 9 June 2026 as the free Update 9.7.0, and it stays in the game indefinitely. Bungie's data names this period Season 28, Monument of Triumph, with no end date. This section holds the services built around what the update added or changed, from the Pantheon to the emblems.

What the update brought
- The Monument: a landmark in the Tower. Players earn Legendary Marks by completing a wide range of Triumphs and spend them at the Monument of Guardian Tenets on armor ornaments, accessories and weapon engrams.
- Pantheon and Sparrow Racing League: both are permanent additions, according to Bungie. Racing sits in Crucible Ops.
- Distortions: a public event that moves every hour from one destination to another.
- Triumphant Rewards Pass: the final pass, with free and premium tracks and no end date.
- Oblation: an exotic mission on the Moon whose reward is the Cull's Shadow fusion rifle.
The Pantheon
The Pantheon is a gauntlet of reprised raid bosses for up to six players. It has three modes: Calus Resplendent, Morgeth Surpassing and Insurrection Prime Revolutionary. Its rewards include the Orbiter ship, the Far-Traveling Shell, the Gilded Record sparrow, the Pantheos Resplendent armor and weapons such as Chattering Bone, Zaouli's Bane, Reckless Oracle and Threat Level. Godsbane is the active Pantheon title. Pantheon Completion and the Godsbane Title are the two lots built on it.

- Exotics: Cull's Shadow from Oblation, the Heir Apparent machine gun and a Monument Catalysts Bundle.

Power and gear
Monument of Triumph did not raise the Power cap, which stays at 550. New and returning players start at Power 10 and loot drops from 300 upward as a catch-up. Gear is graded in Tiers 1 to 5, and the tier of a drop follows the difficulty grade of the activity.
Requirements
Bungie made Monument of Triumph available to all players. A Pantheon run, an exotic mission and a currency farm ask for different things, so the requirements sit on each lot page.
FAQ
Is Monument of Triumph an expansion?
No. It is a free update. The latest expansion is Renegades, released on 2 December 2025.
Will Destiny 2 get new seasons or episodes?
Bungie says Update 9.7.0 was the last planned live-service update, and that further patches are limited to hotfixes for the health of the game. On 17 September 2026 it added that it is working on bringing vaulted content back, with no dates or names given yet.
What happened to the seasonal events?
Bungie retired The Dawning, Solstice, Festival of the Lost and Guardian Games. Some of their rewards can be earned at the Monument of Guardian Tenets, and some armor sets are sold in Eververse for Bright Dust.
