Distortions are the hourly rotating patrol events that Update 9.7.0 added to the Destiny 2 destinations, and this lot plays them for you. Set the Hours slider from 1 to 10 and the team farms the distorted destination of the hour.

Key facts

Activity	Distortions: hourly rotating destination event since Update 9.7.0
Gear tiers	Public events normally pay Tier 3 (base) and Tier 4 (heroic); a Distortion raises both by one tier
Triumph category	Worlds: Distortions in the Monument of Triumph
Rotation	One destination at a time, changing every hour
Case File triumphs	Cosmodrome, EDZ, Nessus, Europa, Luna, Dreaming City and Throne World

What you get

The hours you set, spent in Distortion public events.
Everything the events drop, including tiered weapons and armor.
Progress toward the Distortion triumphs, and completed public events for extra rewards.

How Distortions work

Each hour a different destination is distorted, marked on the Destinations screen with the remaining time. Enemies get a visual effect and become tougher, and public events drop one gear tier higher than usual. A base completion normally pays Tier 3 and a heroic one Tier 4, each with a chance at more; during a Distortion both are raised by one tier, so heroic events can pay Tier 5. Distortion-specific events can drop rewards of their own.

Triumphs

The Worlds: Distortions category includes Distortion Denier (Expunging, Stitching and Cleansing events), Too Big for Your Breaches, Cache Chaser, Master of Strange Matter (collect Strange Matter under a Strange Multiplier) and a Case File Collector triumph for each of seven destinations.

Requirements

A character that can enter the destination of the hour; the Case File triumphs cover the Cosmodrome, EDZ, Nessus, Europa, the Moon, the Dreaming City and the Throne World.
