What does it mean – Auto-Pickup?

Auto-Pickup refers to a game feature or addon-assisted behavior in World of Warcraft that allows automatic collection of loot or quest items from defeated enemies or clickable objects, reducing manual looting time. While WoW does not offer true “Auto-Pickup” like some action RPGs, the Auto Loot setting combined with macros or interface tweaks simulates a similar effect—particularly useful during leveling, dungeon grinding, or collectible farming.

When Auto Loot is enabled in Interface settings, items from defeated enemies are instantly transferred to your inventory upon right-clicking or interacting. While this still requires a single input, addons like LootAppraiser, Leatrix Plus, or farming macros can accelerate the process by removing loot confirmations, ignoring grey items, or optimizing bag space usage.

Auto-Pickup is especially beneficial when farming large enemy packs (e.g. in dungeons or Delves), where looting manually would slow down kill speed. It also helps when hunting quest drops, mounts, or rare collectibles that require looting dozens of mobs.
