What does it mean – Auto-Roll?

Auto-Roll refers to a setting, macro, or addon behavior in World of Warcraft that automatically rolls Need, Greed, or Pass on loot drops, typically used during dungeon runs, raid farming, or powerleveling. It allows players to skip manual selection on each loot window, streamlining the process in fast-paced or repetitive content.

By default, WoW requires players to choose how to roll on group loot, but with addons like AutoLootPlus, Personal Loot Helper, or Loot Filter, players can configure automatic responses based on item rarity, slot, or usability. This is especially useful in content like legacy raid farming, Mythic+ dungeon spams, or when clearing low-level content for collectibles or gold.

Auto-Roll ensures that players don't miss loot opportunities due to inattentiveness and helps avoid loot distribution delays. However, it must be used responsibly—especially in groups—since automatic rolling could lead to unintended Need rolls on valuable items if not configured properly.
