Restock in Call of Duty: What Does It Mean?

In the current Call of Duty ecosystem (Modern Warfare III and Warzone), Restock is actually a Perk (or a Vest ability), not a Field Upgrade.
While Field Upgrades (like the Munitions Box or Trophy System) are active abilities you deploy manually, Restock is a passive benefit that runs in the background of your loadout.
Here is the breakdown of how to use it to create an "infinite utility" build.

What is Restock?

Restock is a Perk that automatically regenerates your Lethal and Tactical equipment over time.
  • In Modern Warfare III: This effect is found on the Demolition Vest. Equipping this vest gives you the Restock ability automatically.
  • In Warzone: It acts as a standard Perk in your custom package (usually Slot 3 or 4).

How Restock Works

Once you use an item, a cooldown timer begins. When the timer finishes, the item magically reappears in your inventory.
  • Recharge Time: Approximately 25 seconds for most items.
  • Storage Limit: It will recharge items until you reach your maximum hold capacity (usually 2). It does not allow you to hold infinite items at once; it just refills them after you use them.
  • What it Refills:
  • Lethals: Frag Grenades, Semtex, Drill Charges, Throwing Knives, Thermites, C4, Claymores, Proximity Mines.
  • Tacticals: Stun Grenades, Flash Grenades, Smoke Grenades, Snapshots, Stims, Shock Sticks.
  • Exceptions: It does not refill Field Upgrades (like Dead Silence) or Ammunition.

Strategies for Using Restock

Restock is the foundation of the "Sentinel" or "Area Denial" playstyle.

You will constantly wall-hack enemies for your team without ever needing to expose yourself.Vehicle SabotageDrill ChargesIn Warzone, vehicles are king. With Restock, you always have a Drill Charge ready to force enemies out of tanks or helicopters. The "Rat" TrapClaymores / MinesYou can place two mines. If an enemy triggers one, wait 25 seconds, and you can place another. You can effectively keep a building locked down indefinitely as long as you survive.Survival LoopStimsIn the gas or during intense firefights, having a fresh Stim every 25 seconds allows you to heal repeatedly, resetting a fight you should have lost.

Synergy with Other Perks

  • High Alert: Since Restock players often hold power positions, High Alert warns you if someone is aiming at you from a blind spot.
  • E.O.D. / Battle Hardened: If you are throwing grenades constantly, enemies will throw them back. These perks keep you alive against their counter-attacks.
Pro Tip: In Warzone, Restock refills your Throwing Knives. If you use Throwing Knives to "thirst" (finish off) downed enemies to save ammo, Restock ensures you never run out of knives for the next fight.
