Polaris in Marvel Rivals: Is She Playable?

Polaris is not playable in Marvel Rivals. On 12 October 2026 the official heroes page at marvelrivals.com listed 54 heroes, and Polaris is not on it. NetEase has not announced her. If you want a magnetism hero, Magneto is the one you can actually play, and he happens to be her father in the comics.

We checked the official list and the leak roundups of marvelrivals.gg and turbosmurfs.gg (September 2026). Polaris appears in none of them. Marvel Rivals has gone on adding heroes at a steady pace (Gorr in September 2026 was the latest), so a future appearance cannot be ruled out, but there is nothing to base a date on.

Polaris in the comics

Lorna Dane first appeared in The X-Men #49 (October 1968). She controls magnetic fields: she can create force fields and magnetic pulses, fly, and manipulate the iron in metal and in living things. Her family link to Magneto was confirmed by a DNA test in Uncanny X-Men #431 (2003). Over the years she has fought alongside the X-Men, X-Factor and the Starjammers, and she has also been on the other side of the line as a member of the Acolytes and the Horsemen of Apocalypse.

Magneto: the closest playable hero

Magneto is a Vanguard (tank). According to the community wiki his kit centres on metal:

  • Iron Volley, his primary fire, throws metal pieces that explode on impact.
  • Mag-Cannon hurls a metal mass and grows stronger as he collects charge stacks.
  • Metallic Curtain is an invincible shield that blocks projectiles but not melee hits.
  • Metal Bulwark puts a bubble shield on an ally; absorbed damage feeds Mag-Cannon.
  • Meteor M, his ultimate, absorbs enemy projectiles into a metal meteor that he throws.

That is the fantasy a Polaris fan wants, minus the flight-and-control half. Storm (Duelist) covers the flying and area-control side with lightning and weather abilities. Check the in-game hero pages for current numbers, as Magneto's Team-Ups and values have changed between seasons.

Storm: the flying, area-control option

If your Polaris wish is about flight and control rather than armour, Storm (Duelist) is the other X-Men hero to try. According to the community wiki she flies as a passive (jump to rise, crouch to descend), fires a piercing Wind Blade as primary attack and a lightning beam called Bolt Rush as secondary. Weather Control switches between a speed boost for nearby allies and a damage boost, Goddess Boost empowers her for a few seconds, and her ultimate Omega Hurricane turns her into a storm that pulls enemies in. She is fragile for a flyer, so positioning decides how she plays.

Magneto and Storm both appear in Team-Up abilities with other heroes (Storm with Thor, and Human Torch for a combined ultimate), though the wiki marks some of those as unavailable in the current season.

FAQ

Why do fans ask for Polaris?

Mostly because of the Magneto link and the X-Men side of the roster, which already includes Wolverine, Storm, Psylocke, Emma Frost, Phoenix, Rogue, Gambit, Cyclops and Jubilation Lee. That is a fan argument, not information from NetEase.

Is "Polaris" the name of anything in the game right now?

We found no hero, skin or ability called Polaris in the patch notes we checked.

Where do I check the roster?

The heroes page on marvelrivals.com and each season's patch notes. Our Heroes & Abilities Glossary explains roles and Team-Ups.
