Wasp in Marvel Rivals: Is She Playable?

The Wasp is not a playable hero in Marvel Rivals. As of 12 October 2026 the official heroes page at marvelrivals.com lists 54 heroes and she is not among them. She is one of the most requested missing heroes, and the game does contain a few Easter eggs that fans read as hints, but NetEase has never confirmed her.

The hints, and how much they prove

  • Van Dyne's Boutique. Billboards and a storefront for a shop with the Van Dyne name appear in the Times Square and Midtown maps. Janet van Dyne is the Wasp's civilian name.
  • Pym Particles. The Winter 2025 update added a shrink-and-grow effect through a Pym's Test Kitchen booth in Times Square. It fits the Ant-Man and Wasp universe.
  • Datamine list. A September 2026 roundup at turbosmurfs.gg includes "The Wasp" in a long tail of datamined names with no details, and notes that some such names may have been scrapped. An August 2026 roster guide lists her as leaked with the release date to be decided.

None of this is an announcement. Easter eggs can be jokes, and NetEase has said leakers have sometimes mistaken early experiments for finished heroes. Fan-written "kit predictions" for her (a flanker with a shrink attack and short wing flight, for example) are guesses built on the comics.

The Wasp in the comics

Janet van Dyne first appeared in Tales to Astonish #44 (June 1963) and was a founding member of the Avengers in 1963, helping to name the team. She can shrink to a few centimetres or grow to giant size, fly with insect wings, fire bio-electric "stings" from her hands and communicate with insects. Her partner and later husband Hank Pym is Ant-Man. Other people have used the Wasp name too: Hank Pym, Nadia van Dyne in the comics and Hope van Dyne in the films, so it is not even certain which Wasp a game version would use.

Invisible Woman and Human Torch in more detail

From the community wiki (values change with patches):

  • Invisible Woman (Strategist). A passive makes her invisible after a few seconds without attacking or taking damage, and she heals while invisible. Her primary throws psionic orbs that damage enemies and heal allies. Veiled Step is a double jump that also turns her invisible, Guardian Shield is a placeable and recallable shield that heals nearby allies, Force Physics pushes or pulls, and Psionic Vortex is a thrown orb that pulls enemies in. Her ultimate, Invisible Boundary, creates a field that heals allies inside, slows enemies and hides the area from players outside.
  • Human Torch (Duelist). Has constant free flight, throws fireball spreads and leaves flame fields, and can link fields with fiery walls. Flaming Meteor dives onto a target area. His ultimate, Supernova, sets him ablaze and powers up his flame fields.

Neither shrinks, which is the Wasp's signature move, and we did not find a hero on the list whose kit is built on shrinking.
