The Mechanar is the Tempest Keep workshop dungeon, ending with Pathaleon the Calculator. We clear it for you on Normal or Heroic, and the run earns reputation with the Sha'tar.
Key facts
| Activity | 5-player dungeon |
|---|---|
| Location | Tempest Keep, Netherstorm: the purple crystal building south of the main palace |
| Level | Enemies level 69-72 |
| Bosses | Gatewatcher Gyro-Kill, Gatewatcher Iron-Hand, Mechano-Lord Capacitus, Nethermancer Sepethrea and Pathaleon the Calculator |
| Getting in | Tempest Keep floats above Netherstorm: you need a flying mount (druids can use flight form), or a warlock already inside can summon you (since patch 2.4.0) |
| Arcatraz key quest | Pathaleon the Calculator holds one half of the Key to the Arcatraz (quest How to Break Into the Arcatraz); the other half is in the Botanica |
| Heroic mode key | Warpforged Key, sold by Almaador (The Sha'tar) on the Terrace of Light in Shattrath City |
| Account-wide heroic key | Communal Warpforged Pouch: 80 gold at Revered with The Sha'tar; it holds a Bind to Battle.net Account key that any character Friendly with The Sha'tar can use |
| Heroic changes on 22 October 2026 | Blizzard's notes for the Zul'Aman phase (22 October 2026): the reputation needed to buy heroic dungeon keys drops to Honored, and all heroic dungeons move to their final, reduced difficulty |
| Reputation | The Sha'tar; about 1,620 for a full clear |
| Opened on Anniversary realms | 5 February 2026, with Phase 1 (the base Burning Crusade content) |
| Difficulty | Normal, Heroic |
| Options | Attunement completion |
| Completion methods | Piloted, Self-play |
| Number of runs | 1 to 15 |
What you get
- A full Mechanar clear on Normal or Heroic, as you choose
- A chance at gear up to item level 115
- Reputation with the Sha'tar, gained during the run
- Experience and other loot from the run, kept on your character
How it works
- The booster, or our group in self-play, clears the Mechanar on the chosen difficulty.
Options
- Difficulty: Normal or Heroic. Heroic runs need the heroic attunement for the dungeon.
- Attunement completion: an optional add-on that completes the heroic attunement for you.
Requirements
- A level 70 character
- The heroic attunement for Heroic runs, or the add-on
- An active World of Warcraft account
