Diablo 4 Stats, Aspects & Paragon Terms

Six terms from Diablo 4 that players search for when they plan a build: two stats that make skills cheaper or faster, a damage debuff, a Rogue skill, a Rogue aspect and the Paragon glyph question. Two of these search terms, "Salvage Glyph" and "Vulnerable Damage Cap", describe things that are not in Diablo 4 as named, so those sections explain the real mechanic behind the phrase.

State on 2 November 2026: the live season is Season 15, "Season of Hell's Legacy", which started on 15 September 2026 with patch 3.2.0 (hotfix 3.2.2 followed on 29 September 2026). The Lord of Hatred expansion, with the Paladin and Warlock classes, launched on 28 April 2026. Stat caps and affix names can change between seasons, so confirm exact values on the in-game tooltip.

Aspect of Corruption

Aspect of Corruption is a Rogue-only offensive Legendary Aspect. It makes your Imbuement skill effects 20-40% more potent against Vulnerable enemies, with the exact number set by the roll on the item. Imbuement is the Rogue system that adds Shadow, Cold or Poison to a skill, so the aspect only matters if your build uses Imbuements.

  • It is unlocked through the dungeon that opens when you progress the Kehjistan campaign.
  • It can also drop at random on Legendary gear.
  • You need a way to apply Vulnerable (see below), otherwise the bonus never triggers.

It is sometimes described as a general "dark power" with a drawback. It has no drawback, and other classes cannot use it.

Barrage

Barrage is a Rogue Core skill that fires a spread of arrows. It needs a ranged weapon, deals Physical damage and is Imbueable. The Fextralife wiki lists these base values:

  • Cost 30 Energy, Lucky Hit chance 40%.
  • 5 arrows, each piercing up to 2 times and unable to hit the same target twice.
  • With the Combo Points specialization, Basic skills build points and Barrage spends up to 3 of them: 6, 7 or 8 arrows.
  • Major upgrades: Multishot (+2 arrows), Succession (arrows land from the air and add up to 75% Barrage damage taken by hit enemies) and Broadside (stun grenades, fewer arrows).

Several Rogue builds treat Barrage as the main damage skill, for example with Cold Imbuement. If you want a full build, our Rogue guide covers the class. These are the wiki's base values; Rogue balance passes can change them, so the in-game tooltip is the final word.

Cooldown Reduction

Cooldown Reduction (CDR) shortens how long a skill waits before you can use it again. In Diablo 4 it comes in three forms: generic (all skills), skill-specific and tag-specific (a group of skills that share a tag, such as Brawling or Conjuration). Sources include gear affixes, passives, rare Paragon nodes and Channeling Shrines.

  • Stacking is multiplicative: total CDR is 1 minus (1 - CDR1) times (1 - CDR2) and so on. Two sources of 20% and 10% give 28%, not 30%. One 50% source is better than two 25% sources (43.8%).
  • Cap: CDR from gear, passives and Paragon is capped at 75%, including the 60% generic CDR of a Channeling Shrine.
  • Helmet, Amulet and Focus, Totem or Shield are the main gear slots for generic CDR; tempering can add class-specific CDR on jewelry.

Maxroll's guide records changes in Season 11 (Tempering CDR affix values, Harlequin Crest after the Masterworking change) and a refresh for the Lord of Hatred expansion on 14 May 2026.

Resource Cost Reduction

Resource Cost Reduction lowers the Fury, Mana, Energy or other resource a skill costs. It stacks multiplicatively with each source, the same way Cooldown Reduction does, so each extra source gives a little less than its face value: 20% and 20% make 36%, not 40%. Maxroll lists it as an affix that can roll on jewelry, gloves and weapons and it can also be added by tempering jewelry. The stat name changes with class, for instance "Mana Cost Reduction" or "Fury Cost Reduction".

Some skills also have their own cost reduction as a minor upgrade. Barrage, for example, has an Energy Cost Reduction upgrade that lowers its cost from 30 to 24.

Salvage Glyph

"Salvage Glyph" is not a feature of Diablo 4. The Blacksmith cannot break a Paragon glyph into materials, and glyphs are never consumed: you keep them and level them. These are the real mechanics behind the search:

  • Paragon glyphs drop from any activity once you reach level 70, with the Pit and Nightmare Dungeons the best source.
  • You raise a glyph in the Pit: clearing the Pit and killing its boss gives 3 upgrade attempts, +1 if you did not die and +1 from Seasonal Blessings. The chance depends on Pit level versus glyph level, from 100% at 10 or more levels above to 0% more than 50 levels below.
  • A glyph tops out at level 150. Each Paragon board has one glyph socket node; a glyph's radius starts at 3 and rises to 4 at level 25 and 5 at level 51.
  • Salvaging at the Blacksmith works on gear. A salvaged socketed gem returns to your inventory, and salvaging Legendary weapons, shields and off-hands with Item Power 400 or higher gives Baleful Fragments.

Vulnerable Damage Cap

Vulnerable is the debuff that makes an enemy take more damage. In Diablo 4 it has a flat value of 20%. Since patch 1.2.0 (17 October 2023), hitting a Vulnerable enemy always deals 20% increased damage, and the Vulnerable Damage affix and Paragon glyphs were raised in the same patch. Enemies get a purple outline on their health bar and the word "Vulnerable" appears over them.

Is there a cap? The base Vulnerable bonus is fixed at 20%, so it cannot be raised past that by stacking more Vulnerable applications. What scales is the separate Vulnerable Damage stat. The practical limits are these: you must apply Vulnerable in the first place, and the Vulnerable Damage stat only raises damage against enemies that already have the debuff. In Season 1 (patch 1.1.0) Blizzard cut the affix by about 65% because it had become a hard requirement for builds.

Chance to make enemies Vulnerable can roll on jewelry and gloves; the effect lasts 2 seconds, and chances add together.

FAQ

What is the cap on Cooldown Reduction in Diablo 4?

75%, from gear, passives and Paragon combined. Sources stack multiplicatively, so a 20% and a 10% source give 28%.

Does Resource Cost Reduction have a cap?

It has no fixed cap like the 75% on Cooldown Reduction, but it stacks multiplicatively, so each extra source adds less than its face value. It rolls on jewelry, gloves and weapons and can be tempered onto jewelry.

Can I salvage Paragon glyphs?

No. Diablo 4 has no glyph salvage; you keep glyphs and raise them in the Pit up to level 150. The Blacksmith salvages gear and returns socketed gems.

How much extra damage does Vulnerable give?

A flat 20% in Diablo 4. The Vulnerable Damage affix and some glyphs add more against Vulnerable targets.

Which season is Diablo 4 in now?

Season 15, Season of Hell's Legacy, which began on 15 September 2026 on patch 3.2. The Lord of Hatred expansion arrived on 28 April 2026, and Blizzard has confirmed a Season 16.
