Billboard Ads in FIFA (FC): What Does It Mean?

In EA SPORTS FC (formerly FIFA), billboard ads are the sponsor boards and signs around the pitch: digital perimeter boards, stadium signage, scoreboards and broadcast-style graphics that show brands, just like a real televised match. Most of them are part of the presentation, but EA now also sells some of these placements to brands through its own in-game advertising platform.

How It Works

FC recreates the look of a match broadcast, and advertising boards are part of that look. Some boards show league or competition branding, and some show commercial partners. In June 2026 EA introduced EA Advertising, a platform that lets brands buy placements inside EA SPORTS titles, including FC, Madden NFL and College Football. EA describes these formats for its sports games:

  • Digital ad boards around the pitch;
  • Scoreboards inside the stadium;
  • Broadcast-style overlays served dynamically inside the 3D environment;
  • Brand integrations seen in its partner campaigns, such as sponsored challenges, objectives, kits and vanity items.

Because EA describes these placements as dynamically served, the brands around the pitch can change as campaigns start and end. EA states that the placements are meant to enhance the experience rather than disrupt it.

Examples

  • Xfinity and Peacock ran in-stadium and broadcast-style integrations in FC 26, together with custom vanity kits, Ultimate Team packs and rewards offers.
  • Red Bull ran branded in-game objectives, team kits and collaborations with athlete ambassadors.
  • Lowe's ran Ultimate Team challenges and branded player content across FC, Madden NFL and College Football.
  • Visa is named by EA as a partner of EA SPORTS FC and College Football.
  • Mountain Dew, outside FC, built a playable DEW University team with its own stadium and mascot in College Football 26, which shows how deep these integrations can go.

For context, EA has faced backlash over ads before. In 2020 it removed full-screen ads that had appeared in UFC 4 replays after launch and apologized to players. Boards around the pitch are a different, far less intrusive format.

Billboards vs. Other In-Game Ads

It helps to separate three kinds of branding in FC. Licensed branding, such as competition logos and real stadium names, comes with the game's licenses and is part of its authenticity. Dynamic board placements are bought by advertisers and can rotate during a season. Sponsor content in menus, such as branded objectives, kits or packs, is the only kind you actively engage with, and taking part is up to you.

Where You'll See It

  • Around the pitch during matches and replays;
  • On scoreboards and in broadcast graphics during presentation moments;
  • In menus, when a sponsor campaign comes with its own objectives, challenges or packs in Ultimate Team.

Tips

  • Billboard ads are cosmetic. They do not change ball physics, player stats or match outcomes, so there is no gameplay reason to worry about them.
  • If you want the rewards tied to a sponsor campaign, look in the Objectives and challenges sections of Ultimate Team. The rewards come from completing those tasks, not from interacting with the boards.
  • Read the requirements of sponsored objectives before spending time on them. Many reward cosmetics such as kits, while others offer packs.
  • Branded campaigns are time-limited, so check the expiry date shown on each objective.

FAQ

Are the brands on FC billboards real?

Yes. Many are real companies, either through league and stadium licensing or through paid campaigns sold via EA Advertising.

Do billboard ads affect gameplay?

No. They are visual only and do not influence how matches play out.

Can I click a billboard to get rewards?

No. Sponsor rewards come through objectives, challenges and packs in the menus, not by interacting with boards during a match. See the official EA SPORTS FC site for current campaigns.
