What the current Ranked ruleset asks of a player
- Five placement matches at the start of each season set the starting rank, with increased RP gains. Hidden MMR is gone, so RP alone drives matchmaking.
- The ladder runs from Copper to Champion in five divisions each, and a demotion shield holds a player at 0 RP instead of deranking when the match began above 0.
- The map ban uses five maps, three from the Pro Pool and two from the Seasonal Pool.
- Squads in Copper to Emerald stay within three full ranks, and in Diamond and Champion within two.
