About the two challenges

Exploring the full map is also one of three ways to unlock the Legacy System, next to a character at level 25 and 150 skill in a non-gathering primary profession. The world is Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor with new regions and quests added. Explorer and Lord Valthalak Laid to Rest are the names of our options. Blizzard's Legacy article describes both goals, and the game data uses Lord Valthalak Laid to Rest as the name of the second challenge.

Requirements

A level 60 character.
Piloted or Self-play Remote, whichever suits you.
The Choose Ruleset option (PvE, PvP or RP) picks the ruleset the character explores in. Exploring has to happen on one character.
Orders placed before the launch on 4 November 2026 begin once the game is live.

Adventure Legacy Challenges FAQ

Does exploring need one character?

Yes. Blizzard words it as exploring the entire world map on the same character, so the map progress cannot be split across characters.

What do the points buy?

They feed the account-wide Legacy total. The Adventure perk tree offers Well Rested, Thrill of Adventure, High Alert, Field Guide, Field Medicine, Talented and Frequent Flier.

Is the questline tied to a dungeon?

It is tied to the dungeon armor sets: its quests hand in Dungeon Set 1 pieces, which drop in high-level dungeons, and reward the matching Dungeon Set 2 pieces. After payment the manager checks with you in live chat or Discord which of those pieces your character already holds.
