Destiny: Rising Progression, Currencies and Materials
Destiny: Rising has a lot of overlapping progress bars and an even longer list of materials, and their names rarely say what they do. One level belongs to your whole account, another to the season, a third to the battle pass, and the materials split into four weapon families. This glossary sorts them out: what each term means, where it comes from in the game, and what it is often confused with. It is written for players who have just finished the story, for returning players who missed a season or two, and for anyone reading patch notes and wondering what a Translation Credit is.
All facts are checked against the official news and weekly patch notes on the Destiny: Rising website. The game is in Season 6, Season of Revival, which began with the maintenance on 17 September 2026; its second part opened with the patch of 29 October 2026. Numbers that change from season to season are given with the season or patch they come from.

Account and season progress
Team Level
Team Level is the single level of your account. NetEase introduced it in the closed beta of May 2025, replacing separate levels for each character: every character you own instantly matches your Team Level, so a newly unlocked hero is ready to play at once. You raise it mainly through the story and exploration.
The cap has moved with the seasons. The Season 4 developer preview (19 March 2026) raised it to 90, and since the patch of 24 September 2026 the new Relic Enchantment tab asks for Team Level 100. Many events check Team Level before they let you in: recent notes ask for level 61 or above for Wheel of Fortune events and 71 or above for Morgran's Hunt challenges. Example: "The event says Team Lv.71 required, so I need a few more story missions first."
Season and Season Phase
A season is the main content cycle of Destiny: Rising. When a new one starts, the patch notes say that the Season Phase, Season Missions and Season Shop reset, and the Season Treasury, Patron Bundles and Season Engrams change. The seasons so far:
- Season of Daybreak: global launch, 28 August 2025
- Season 2, Season of the Moor: 6 November 2025
- Season 3, Season of Providence: 1 January 2026
- Season 4, Season of Wishes: 26 March 2026 (its end was pushed back by one to three weeks)
- Season 5, Season of Awakening: 25 June 2026
- Season 6, Season of Revival: 17 September 2026
Inside a season, Season Phases unlock one after another (the notes mention Phase 8). Enemy power in several modes rises with the phase, and Singularity: Chaos sets its Light requirements per phase. Some rewards also check a Season Level: Daily Commissions pay Glimmer from Season Lv.1.
Battle Pass
The Battle Pass is the seasonal reward track you fill by playing. It has a free track and two paid upgrades, the Premium Battle Pass and the Premium Battle Pass Plus; the Plus version gives an extra item right away. Each season is split into two acts or parts, and each gets its own pass update: for example, Season of Awakening Act 1 ran from 25 June to 6 August 2026, and Part II followed.
From Season 2 to Season 4 the announcements listed the premium rewards at Rank 20 and Rank 30 (emotes) and Rank 50 (an ornament bundle for that act's Exotic weapon). Since Season 5 the pass also carries Exotic Resonance materials such as Exotic Cipher and Protocol Crystal. The 30 July 2026 patch adjusted the max-level chest, and on 29 October 2026 the Battle Pass Shop added new exchanges. Example: "Rank 50 this act, then the max-level chest."
Characters, relics and power
Characters (Lightbearers) and rarity
The playable characters are Lightbearers. You play Wolf, a customizable protagonist, alongside known Destiny figures such as Ikora Rey, Iron Lord Jolder and Kabr, and many new heroes. Characters come in two rarities, Mythic and Legendary. Each has a Primary and a Power weapon slot, and weapons sit in one shared inventory, so any character who can use that weapon type can equip it.
Most characters come from draws paid with Lumia Leaves. In a Limited-Time Draw every Mythic character you pull is the featured one, and the pity count is shared across all limited draws: Cassian headlined the draw of 17 September to 15 October 2026, and Ning Fei the one running from 29 October to 26 November 2026. Season 4 added Character Fragments: 40 fragments assemble a character directly.
Relic and Relic Enchantment
Every Lightbearer carries a unique Relic, the source of their Super, their two Signature abilities and a set of perks. Kabr's Thunder Shield is the developers' own example. The Relic is what makes two characters with the same weapon play completely differently.
Relic Enchantment arrived on 24 September 2026. It opens at Team Level 100 and works in three element groups, Void, Solar and Arc: characters of the same element share one set of upgrades. Using an Enchantment Stone randomly replaces one effect, and you choose whether to keep it. Since 29 October 2026, Legendary and Mythic Enchantment Stones can be broken down into essence and crafted back. Example: "My Solar enchants carry over to Cassian, so I only roll them once."
Power, Light and Gear Level
Power is the number the game uses to say how strong your character and gear are, and harder activities show a recommended Power. The numbers are not comparable across seasons: the first Gauntlet Onslaught race (September 2025) recommended 55,100, while the Elivagar race after the Season 4 gear rework recommended 47,000. Some modes call their requirement Light instead, as Singularity: Chaos does per Season Phase.
Gear Level belongs to weapons and artifacts. At the start of Season 5, gear at Gear Level 90 below Enhancement Level 5 was raised to Enhancement 5; Season 6 did the same at Gear Level 100. Enhancing a weapon with prisms is the usual way to add Power. Example: "Recommended 47,000 and I'm at 44,000, time to enhance."
Emanare
Emanare is a seasonal power system that starts over every season with a new set of Season Emanare Abilities. For Season 6 these are Radiant Core, Relic of Light and Firmly Planted. Because the investment is lost at the reset, each new season opens a "Carry on the Flame" event that refunds 100% of the materials you actually spent on the previous season's Emanare.
Emanare is expensive. The community wiki's Season 6 page lists, for the first phase alone, 195,000 Glimmer, 100 of each Weapon Enhancement Prism and 20 of each Mythic Weapon Infusion Core, along with many other items, and later phases cost more. Competitive events sometimes switch it off: the Elivagar race disabled seasonal Emanare bonuses. Example: "Don't skip Emanare, the refund comes back next season anyway."
Currencies
Glimmer
Glimmer is the basic currency, needed for almost every upgrade. Enhancing a weapon, for example, takes Glimmer plus the matching prisms, and seasonal systems such as Emanare consume it in six-figure amounts.
The steady sources were improved in 2026. Since the patch of 2 April 2026, Daily Commissions pay Glimmer (along with Reputation and random weapons) from Season Lv.1, and the Seasonal Shop sells Glimmer as a weekly limited item. The patch of 7 May 2026 raised the daily Glimmer rewards from destinations and patrol bosses, and events add more, for example Glimmer Clusters on the May 2026 Wheel of Fortune. Glimmer is not the same as Silver, the premium currency bought with real money. Example: "I have the prisms but I'm out of Glimmer, so I'll do commissions first."
Lumia Leaf
Lumia Leaves are the summoning currency: you spend them on character draws. The developers describe the free supply as a large amount up front followed by monthly rewards meant to keep free players up to date with new characters. At launch they promised over 200 free draws, including at least 12,500 Lumia Leaves.
Regular free sources include achievements, events and maintenance compensation: recent weekly patches each compensated 200 Lumia Leaves by mail for accounts that log in within a week. The developers also name Calamity Ops and bounties as sources, and since April 2026 Adept-difficulty clears of Strikes, Gauntlet: Blitz, Legendary Campaign and Singularity: Chaos pay them. A Lumia Leaves Store sells event items for them. Do not confuse them with Silver, which is paid. Example: "Saving Lumia Leaves for the next limited Mythic."
Translation Credits
Translation Credits are not a general currency. They belong to the Shifting Gates mode: the Shifting Gates Exchange Shop prices its items in them. That makes them the route to a few weapons you would otherwise only get as random drops.
The Season 2 notes show how it works. Three new Mythic weapons, the Grenade Launcher Tsurinobuse, the Hand Cannon Empty Fort Strategy and the Shotgun Thermoplyae-80, were added to the shop: each could be redeemed 10 times for 6 Translation Credits until 20 November 2025, and after that once per week for 20 credits. So the price and the weekly limit matter more than the total you hold. Example: "Twenty credits a week for Empty Fort Strategy, so I play Shifting Gates on reset day." The mode itself is explained in the activities glossary.
Weapon upgrade materials
Weapon Enhancement Prism
Weapon Enhancement Prisms are the standard material for enhancing weapons. They come in four versions, one per weapon family: Impact, Piercing, Rapid-Fire and Spread. Rapid-Fire covers weapons such as Auto Rifles and Pulse Rifles; Spread covers Light Grenade Launchers, Grenade Launchers and Rocket Launchers. You need the prism type that matches the weapon, plus Glimmer.
Enhancing one weapon applies the same increase to copies of that weapon on your other characters, which is why a single enhanced weapon helps the whole roster. Prisms are also a big seasonal cost: the community wiki lists 100 of each type for the first phase of Season 6 Emanare and several hundred for later phases. Example: "I'm short on Spread prisms, my rocket launcher is stuck."
Exotic Weapon Infusion Core
The Exotic Weapon Infusion Core (patch notes sometimes shorten it to Exotic Infusion Core) is a high-value material tied by name to Exotic weapons. Patch notes usually list it among the premium rewards of an activity or event.
Sources named in 2025 and 2026 notes: Adept-difficulty clears of Strikes, Gauntlet: Blitz, Legendary Campaign and Singularity: Chaos (from 2 April 2026); daily sign-in events such as the November 2025 cross-server event and the 12 to 26 February 2026 sign-in; collectible hunts such as the 8 Skybound Igniters in the Jiangshi Metro wilderness; participation in Operation Cordon; and the Legendary Treasure of the May 2026 Legendary Campaign+ event. It is a different item from the Mythic Weapon Infusion Core. Example: "Two more Exotic cores from the sign-in and I can upgrade it."
Mythic Weapon Infusion Core
The Mythic Weapon Infusion Core is the Mythic-tier counterpart, and unlike the Exotic version it is split by weapon family like the prisms: Impact, Piercing, Rapid-Fire and Spread. Mythic is the gear rarity Destiny: Rising added to the Destiny series, and seasons bring new Mythic weapons: Season 2 alone added six.
These cores are consumed in bulk by seasonal systems: the community wiki's Season 6 Emanare table asks for 20 of each family in the first phase and up to a few hundred per family in later phases, often more for Spread. If a seasonal upgrade stalls, it is usually on one family's cores rather than on Glimmer. Example: "Emanare phase 3 wants 210 Rapid-Fire Mythic cores."
Lumenite
Lumenite is a family of weapon upgrade materials that appears in several named types, Hardened Lumenite being one of them. Official notes mostly mention it through chests and recipes rather than direct drops.
Examples: since 2 April 2026, Adept-difficulty clears of Strikes, Gauntlet: Blitz, Legendary Campaign and Singularity: Chaos pay Weapon Lumenite Choice Chests, which let you pick the type you need. The patch of 24 September 2026 added Synthesis recipes for Mutated Energy Lumenite with a weekly limit, and the community wiki lists Mutated Energy Lumenite among the costs of every Season 6 Emanare phase. Example: "Open the Lumenite Choice Chest only when you know which weapon you are upgrading."
Superposed Photon
The Superposed Photon is a rare upgrade material that mostly comes at the end of reward tracks, so you collect it slowly over a season rather than in one session.
Where the notes place it: the reward for signing in on all 7 days of the November 2025 cross-server event; the rewards of the limited Legendary Campaign: Grandmaster event of 12 to 26 March 2026; and the premium check-in rewards of the seasonal Limited Sign-In of 25 June to 17 September 2026. Logging in through a whole sign-in event is therefore the most reliable way to get it. Example: "Don't miss the last sign-in day, that's where the photon is."
