Key facts

Horde capital factions	Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, Darkspear Trolls and Undercity
Alliance capital factions	Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus and Gnomeregan Exiles
Cloth donation quests	A Donation of Wool, Silk, Mageweave and Runecloth (required character level 12, 26, 40 and 50) plus Additional Runecloth; the same set for every capital faction, each limited to that faction's side
Why Exalted matters	Learning another race's riding skill and buying its mounts requires Exalted with that race's faction
Example mount	Horn of the Timber Wolf: any Horde race, level 40, Wolf Riding; sold by Ogunaro Wolfrunner in Orgrimmar

The eight capital factions

Horde: Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, Darkspear Trolls and Undercity.
Alliance: Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus and Gnomeregan Exiles.

In the game data each of the eight has the same set of cloth donation quests, for Wool, Silk, Mageweave and Runecloth, unlocked at character level 12, 26, 40 and 50, with one more Runecloth hand-in on top. Each quest belongs to the capital's own side. Darkspear Trolls here is the trolls' home faction, not the Darkspear Raiders of the battleground. The Skyborne factions are not on this list.

What you get

Exalted with every capital faction you tick, counted from the standing you have now.
The cloth for the hand-ins, sent to your character by in-game mail.
The mount access Exalted brings: another race's riding and mounts, once you also meet the level, skill and gold they ask for.

Requirements

A Horde or Alliance character of level 50 or higher. In the game data the Runecloth donation quest needs level 50.
Completion Method is fixed to Self-play: the cloth arrives by mail and you hand it in yourself, after the manager has confirmed your factions and current standings in live chat.
Choose Ruleset set to PvE, PvP or RP, matching the character.
A WoW subscription or Game Time.

Faction Reputations FAQ

Can I tick Horde and Alliance factions together?

Just the group of your own side. A Horde character uses the Horde Factions group and an Alliance character the Alliance Factions group, because the capital quests belong to one side each.

Does Exalted hand me a mount?

It opens the purchase. A mount such as the Horn of the Timber Wolf also asks for character level 40 and the matching riding skill, and its gold price is yours to pay at the vendor.

Can I order before the game launches?

Yes. Orders placed before the 4 November 2026 launch start once WoW Forever is live.
