Angels

In Battlefield, "Angels" is not an official mechanic. Its most concrete meaning comes from Battlefield 2042, where Angel is a Support specialist, so "Angels" refers to several players running him or to a team built around his resupply kit. This page also explains the wingsuit, the trait of the specialist Sundance, since both belong to the same 2042 specialist system and are often looked up together.

How It Works

Angel, the Support specialist

Constantin "Angel" Anghel is a Support specialist in Battlefield 2042. His in-game description says he delivers ammunition and crates that allow loadout changes. According to the Battlefield Wiki, his kit works like this:

  • Resupply packs. Angel can throw ammo packs on the ground or directly to a teammate. Each pack tops up three magazines. He carries up to three, and they refill after a short cooldown.
  • Loadout Crate. Aiming places a beacon that calls in a supply drop. Any teammate can use the crate to resupply or change their loadout mid-match. The crate can be used as cover but is destroyed by explosives or armor-piercing hits.
  • Trauma Specialist trait. Angel can revive any downed teammate, not just his squad, and the revive also resupplies their primary and secondary ammo.

Angel originally also gave teammates 20 points of armor with his resupply. That was removed in Update 4.1.

Sundance and the wingsuit

The Assault specialist Emma "Sundance" Rosier has the Wingsuit trait: a CW-2A wingsuit replaces the standard parachute and lets them glide long distances. According to the wiki, Sundance can start gliding from lower heights than other players can open a parachute, and starts gliding immediately when jumping out of an aircraft. Pressing crouch breaks the glide to use weapons and gadgets in the air, and jump resumes it. Hitting the ground at full speed can deal upwards of 50 damage.

Sundance's specialty is the Scatter Grenade. Its main charge is time-fuzed, so it can burst in mid-air and release smaller explosive sub-munitions that spread wider the higher they start. Sundance carries one grenade at a time, and it regenerates roughly every 15 seconds. Combined with the wingsuit, it lets a Sundance player glide over an objective and drop explosives onto defenders below.

Where You'll See It

  • Team chat and squad calls in 2042, for example "we need an Angel for the crate" when the team is running out of ammo or wants to swap to anti-vehicle gear.
  • Specialist guides and clips, where Angel's Loadout Crate and Sundance's wingsuit flights onto objectives are common topics.
  • Battlefield 6 discussions, where the term comes up less: Battlefield 6 returned to a traditional class system instead of specialists, so ammo and resupply now belong to the Support class rather than a named character.

Tips

  1. Drop the crate where your team fights. Place it near the objective, in cover, so teammates can swap to rockets or anti-air when the situation changes.
  2. Throw ammo directly to teammates. Throwing a pack at an ally is faster than waiting for them to find it.
  3. Use Trauma Specialist across squads. Angel can revive anyone on the team, so stay with the main push rather than only your squad.
  4. As Sundance, plan the landing. Pick a rooftop or high ground you can glide to, and break the glide before you hit the ground to avoid impact damage.
  5. Countering sky drops. Watch roofs and the sky around contested objectives, especially after an enemy transport flies over.

FAQ

Is "Angels" a game mode or official feature?

No. It is player shorthand. The only official "Angel" is the Battlefield 2042 specialist Constantin "Angel" Anghel.

Which specialist has the wingsuit?

Sundance (Emma Rosier). The wingsuit is their trait in Battlefield 2042; other specialists use a parachute.

Does Battlefield 6 have Angel?

No. Battlefield 6 dropped specialists in favor of the classic class system, so resupply is handled by the Support class.
