Brawl Stars Skins Glossary

Skins in Brawl Stars change how a Brawler looks and sounds — model, animations, attack effects and, for the most expensive ones, voice lines — but never their stats. A Werewolf Leon hits exactly as hard as a default Leon. What skins do signal is history and effort: some can still be bought any day for a few Gems, some return only for a seasonal event, and some will never be sold again.

This page explains how skin rarity and pricing work, what the labels "exclusive" and "seasonal" mean in practice, and then goes through fifteen skins players often ask about, with when each was added and whether you can still get it.

How skin rarity and prices work

Every skin has a rarity. The rarity sets its standard price in Gems (the premium currency) and in Bling (the cosmetic currency you earn from Starr Drops, the Trophy Road, the Brawl Pass, the Daily Streak and other rewards). Bling replaced Star Points in the April 2023 update.

A few practical notes:

  • Where you buy skins. Since the April 2026 update the Catalog is mainly a place to preview skins and see their campaign; purchases happen in the Oddities Shop (Bling) and in Featured Offers. Between October 2023 and April 2026 skins came bundled with pins, sprays or profile icons depending on rarity; that bundling was dropped in April 2026.
  • Seasonal skins can only be bought with Gems, and only while their event is running.
  • True Silver and True Gold skins are a separate track bought with Coins: 10,000 Coins for True Silver and 25,000 for True Gold, and you need the Silver one first.
  • Prices in the shop can differ. Offers are often discounted or bundled, so the table shows the reference price, not what you will always pay.

"Exclusive", "seasonal" and "Brawl Pass exclusive"

  • Exclusive / no longer obtainable — the skin was tied to a one-off event, giveaway or old Brawl Pass and is not expected to return. Owning one shows how long you have played.
  • Seasonal — returns with its event (Brawl-o-ween, Lunar New Year, Brawlidays and so on), usually for a limited time each year.
  • Brawl Pass exclusive — the reward of one specific Brawl Pass season. Older Brawl Pass skins are generally retired once the season ends; some later Brawl Pass skins have been made purchasable afterwards.

Star Shelly

Star Shelly is the best-known "veteran" skin in the game. It was added on 5 December 2018, shortly before the game's worldwide release, and from 12 December 2018 until 1 January 2019 every player could claim it for free. It has not been available since, so seeing it in a lobby means the account dates back to 2018. Full story and how to check whether your account has it: Star Shelly.

Phoenix Crow

Phoenix Crow is one of the oldest Legendary skins: added on 19 June 2018 and still sold for 299 Gems in the Flaming campaign. It received a full remodel with its own voice lines on 27 June 2023 and new takedown effects in April 2024, which is why it looks noticeably more modern than its age suggests. More details: Phoenix Crow.

Corsair Colt

Corsair Colt is a pirate-themed Epic skin first sold on 21 December 2019 as part of the "Pirate Brawlidays" event. It now belongs to the Tales of the Sea campaign and is seasonal: it returns with its event for 149 Gems. It was lightly remodelled in June 2026. More: Corsair Colt.

Calavera Piper

Calavera Piper is a Day of the Dead–style Super Rare skin added on 1 November 2019 for Brawl-o-ween. It cost 79 Gems at the time and is now marked as no longer obtainable. Its attack and Super visuals were reworked in August 2021. More: Calavera Piper.

Werewolf Leon

Werewolf Leon is an Epic Brawl-o-ween skin added on 31 October 2019. It arrived together with Leon's first voice lines, and the Werewolf skin got its own set, which made it one of the more elaborate skins of its time. It sold for 149 Gems and is now listed as no longer obtainable.

Don't confuse it with White Wolf Leon, a later Mythic Brawl-o-ween skin that does return seasonally. If you are trying to get "the wolf Leon skin" today, White Wolf is the one you will actually see in the shop.

Virus 8-Bit

Virus 8-Bit is a Legendary skin added on 31 January 2020 for Lunar Brawl 2020, in the CyberBrawl campaign. It turns the arcade-machine Brawler into a corrupted, glitching version of itself, with matching attack and takedown effects (the takedown visuals were reworked in December 2023). It cost 299 Gems and is now marked as no longer obtainable.

In February 2024 Supercell added Antivirus 8-Bit as its counterpart for Lunar Brawl 2024, so the two are now often shown side by side; only Antivirus has been sold since.

Shiba Nita

Shiba Nita is an Epic skin added on 29 April 2019 in the Golden Kawaii campaign. Nita wears a Shiba Inu outfit and her bear becomes a giant Shiba, which makes it one of the most recognisable Nita skins. It is a regular skin that can be bought for 149 Gems (or its Bling price when it shows up in the Oddities Shop). Its main attack effects and Super animation were reworked in April 2026.

Iris Tara (now Stara)

Iris Tara was a Rare skin for Tara added on 29 August 2019 and originally bought with 500 Star Points. When Star Points were replaced by Bling in April 2023, its price changed to 29 Gems, and on 27 June 2023 the skin was remodelled and renamed Stara. If you search the in-game Catalog for "Iris Tara" you won't find it — look for Stara.

Stara is one of the easiest skins to own: it is unlocked for free when Tara reaches 750 Trophies, can drop from some event boxes, or costs 29 Gems.

Navigator Colette is a Super Rare skin added on 5 February 2021 and featured in that year's Lunar Brawl event. It now sits in the StarrForce Assemble campaign as a seasonal skin, costing 79 Gems when it is available.

Dark Lord Spike

Dark Lord Spike is an Epic skin added on 19 February 2021, also as part of Lunar Brawl 2021. Like Navigator Colette it was later grouped into the StarrForce Assemble campaign and is seasonal: 149 Gems when its event is live.

King Lou

King Lou came with Lou himself on 23 November 2020 as the Epic reward of that Brawl Pass season. It is a Brawl Pass exclusive that has not been sold since, so it is marked as no longer obtainable. Players who own it unlocked it by progressing that season's pass.

Ninja Ash

Ninja Ash was added on 30 August 2021, the day Ash was released, as that season's Epic Brawl Pass skin. It is also a retired Brawl Pass exclusive. A newer ninja-themed skin, Shinobi Ash, exists separately. <!-- editor: confirm Shinobi Ash in the Catalog before publishing -->

Caesar Sam

Caesar Sam — Sam dressed as a Roman emperor — arrived with Sam on 5 September 2022 as an Epic Brawl Pass skin. Unlike older Brawl Pass skins, the Catalog lists it as obtainable through the Brawl Pass or for 149 Gems when it is offered, so it is worth watching the shop if you missed that season.

Runaway Gray

Runaway Gray is a Rare skin added on 12 December 2022, the same day Gray joined the game. Because the name sounds like advice, it is often searched as if it were a strategy — it isn't, it only changes his look. It is part of the Outlaws campaign and is free once Gray reaches 750 Trophies, or 29 Gems.

High Score Griff

High Score Griff is a Super Rare skin added on 18 January 2023 for the Lunar New Year event. It belongs to the gaming-themed campaign and is seasonal, costing 79 Gems when it comes back.

Tips before you spend Gems on a skin

  • Check the Bling price first. Many skins rotate through the Oddities Shop, where you can pay with Bling you earn by playing instead of Gems.
  • Seasonal means "wait", not "gone". If a seasonal skin isn't in the shop, it usually returns with its event the next year.
  • Exclusive skins can't be bought or traded. Brawl Stars has no player trading; claims that someone can "add" an exclusive skin to your account are scams and risk your account.
  • Free Rare skins exist for many Brawlers at 750 Trophies — Stara and Runaway Gray are examples — so check a Brawler's Trophy rewards before buying its cheapest skin.

Pushing a Brawler to the Trophy count where its free skin unlocks takes time; if you'd rather have help with trophies or ranked, see our Brawl Stars services.
