Remote Control Unit in GTA: What Does It Mean?

Functionality and Access

• Installation: The RC Unit is a piece of Imani Tech that can be installed on select vehicles via the Agency Vehicle Workshop.
• Deployment: To use it, players must open the Interaction Menu, navigate to Manage Vehicles (or Inventory), and select Remote Control Vehicles.
• Controls: Once activated, the player’s camera shifts to the vehicle's perspective. The controls remain identical to standard driving, and any equipped front-facing machine guns are fully functional.
• Self-Destruction: RC-equipped personal vehicles have a unique detonate option, allowing players to use the car as a remote explosive.

Strategic and Tactical Advantages

• Stealth and Off-Radar: When a player controls an RC vehicle, their character disappears from the world, and the vehicle no longer has a distinct player blip on the minimap. This allows for undetected surveillance or "stealth trolling" in busy lobbies.
• Safety: Players can safely harass griefers or scout dangerous areas without risking their own life, as the character is effectively hidden while the RC Unit is active.
• Counter-Griefing: The RC Unit is often used as a tactical counter to players using high-powered weaponry or vehicles like the Oppressor Mk II, as the RC vehicle is harder to track and can catch opponents off guard.

Compatible Vehicles and Limitations

• Imani Tech Vehicles: Only specific modern DLC vehicles support the RC Unit upgrade, such as the Enus Jubilee, Buffalo STX, Dewbauchee Champion, and Ocelot Virtue.
• Exclusive Choice: On Imani Tech vehicles, you cannot equip both the RC Unit and the Missile Lock-On Jammer; you must choose one or the other.
• Other RC Devices: The RC Unit for personal cars exists alongside other remote-controlled assets like the RC Bandito (a small off-road car), the Invade and Persuade Tank, and Nano Drones.
• Usage Restrictions: Most remote-controlled functions, including Imani Tech RC, are restricted during certain missions, heists, or heist setups.
