Tarkov Hideout Modules Glossary
The hideout is the base you build between raids in Escape from Tarkov. Each module has levels, each level has a list of required items, a build time and often a module that must reach a certain level first. This glossary covers the three modules players ask about most, the Booze Generator, the Bitcoin Farm (often searched as "GPU mining farm") and the stash upgrade, and gives short entries for the support modules they depend on.
The numbers below follow the tarkov.dev hideout data as read on 1 November 2026, after Tarkov 1.0 (15 November 2025) and the 1.1.0 season update (3 August 2026). Patch 1.1.0 removed the found-in-raid requirement from some construction materials for level 1 to 3 zones in the PvP Zone and PvE Zone, and raised trader prices by about 25 percent, so older lists and cost estimates differ. Check the hideout screen before you gather items.
| Module | Levels | Key prerequisite |
|---|---|---|
| Booze Generator | 1 | Water Collector 3 and Nutrition Unit 3 |
| Bitcoin Farm | 3 | Intelligence Center 2 for level 1 |
| Stash | 4 | Vents 1 for level 2 |
Production and storage modules
Booze Generator
The Booze Generator is a one-level module that crafts moonshine. Players build it to make a tradeable and barterable drink, and to feed the moonshine-funded Scav Case option described below.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Build time | 2 days |
| Module prerequisites | Water Collector level 3 and Nutrition Unit level 3 |
| Items (35 total) | Silicone tube x10, Analog thermometer x2, Pressure gauge x2, Corrugated hose x10, Pipe grip wrench x1, Radiator helix x5, Metal spare parts x5 |
| Craft | 2 Sugar and 1 Superwater make 1 Bottle of Fierce Hatchling moonshine |
| Craft time | 3 hours 3 minutes |
It does not need Rest Space level 2, as some older guides claim. The real gate is the water and food chain: the Water Collector has to reach level 3 first, which in turn needs a Generator at level 3. The craft is short, so the limit is usually the Superwater and Sugar supply, not the machine. For routes that earn the roubles for these builds, see the Tarkov money guide.
Bitcoin Farm (GPU mining farm)
The Bitcoin Farm turns graphics cards (GPUs) into Physical Bitcoin over time. The game item is called "Graphics card"; the module is the Bitcoin Farm.
| Level | Prerequisites | Build time | Items | Added GPU slots |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Intelligence Center 2 | 1 day 10 hours | CPU fan x15, Power supply unit x10, Power cord x15, VPX Flash Storage Module x2, T-Shaped plug x10 | 10 |
| 2 | Bitcoin Farm 1, Generator 3 | 2 days 2 hours | CPU fan x15, Power supply unit x10, Printed circuit board x15, Phase control relay x10, Military power filter x5 | 15 |
| 3 | Bitcoin Farm 2, Solar Power 1, Water Collector 3 | 4 days 10 hours | CPU fan x25, Silicone tube x15, Electric motor x10, Pressure gauge x10, 6-STEN-140-M military battery x2 | 25 |
Slots add up to 10, 25 and then 50 GPUs. The total build time across all three levels is 7 days 22 hours.
The base craft listed for the module is 1 Physical Bitcoin in 3 days 11 hours with a single card. More cards shorten the time, but not in a straight line. The community formula is 300,000 seconds divided by (1 + (cards - 1) x 0.041225), which gives roughly 27.6 hours per Bitcoin with all 50 cards; this formula comes from one community source, so treat it as an estimate. Intelligence Center level 3 adds a Graphics card craft (15 hours), so you can make cards instead of only buying them. Old advice to "install as many GPUs as possible" is correct, but the returns shrink, and a full farm is a long-term investment, not quick money.
Stash upgrade
The stash is your main storage grid, and it is the only module with a size you can compare against edition bonuses. The hideout ladder takes a Standard stash from 10x30 to 10x68.
| Level | Size | Build time | Prerequisites | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 300 cells (10x30) | none | none | none |
| 2 | 400 cells (10x40) | 1 hour | Vents 1 | Hand drill x1, Pack of screws x10, WD-40 (100 ml) x4, Pack of nails x5, 2,500,000 roubles |
| 3 | 500 cells (10x50) | 12 hours | Vents 2, Heating 2 | Electric drill x2, Pack of screws x15, Pack of nails x7, 8,500,000 roubles |
| 4 | 680 cells (10x68) | 4 days | Generator 3, Workbench 3, Heating 3, Intelligence Center 2 | 200,000 euros, Bolts x10, Screw nuts x10, Shustrilo sealing foam x8, Ratchet wrench x2 |
Total build time is 4 days 13 hours. The cost is mostly currency, so level 4 means holding euros, not only roubles. Edition owners start higher on this ladder; the wiki table lists 10x68 for Edge of Darkness and 10x72 as the largest stash, for The Unheard. Which edition gives what is compared on the editions page. Older guides quote 10x28 and 10x38 for the early steps; those are from before the 1.0 numbers.
Support modules
These modules appear as prerequisites above. Each has its own page.
- Generator. Powers the hideout and gates many upgrades. Level 1 needs Security 1 and costs 100,000 roubles plus a Spark plug, and level 3 takes 16 hours to build. See Generator.
- Water Collector. Three levels with hydration bonuses of +10, +20 and +30 percent, and a level 3 that requires Generator 3. See Water Collector.
- Intelligence Center. Three levels. Level 2 shortens insurance returns by 20 percent, and the module also gates the Bitcoin Farm and the final stash level. See Intelligence Center.
- Rest Space. Three levels with regeneration bonuses, up to +10 percent health regeneration and +10 maximum energy at level 3. See Rest Space benefits.
- Air Filtering Unit. A single level needing Generator 3 and Vents 3, with a 40 percent skill leveling bonus listed. See Air Filtering Unit.
- Scav Case with moonshine. One of the Scav Case payment options uses moonshine; the moonshine comes from the Booze Generator above. See Scav Case moonshine.
Tips
- Read the in-game requirement list before buying items; the tracker numbers can lag a patch.
- Build the Intelligence Center early. It unlocks the Bitcoin Farm, shortens insurance returns and is needed for stash level 4.
- Plan currency, not just items. Stash levels 2 and 3 cost 2,500,000 and 8,500,000 roubles, and level 4 costs 200,000 euros.

FAQ
What does the Booze Generator need?
Water Collector level 3 and Nutrition Unit level 3, plus 35 items such as 10 silicone tubes and 10 corrugated hoses. It takes 2 days to build. It does not need Rest Space level 2.
How many GPUs fit in the Bitcoin Farm?
Up to 50 at level 3. Level 1 holds 10, level 2 raises it to 25 and level 3 to 50. Each added card reduces the time per Bitcoin, with diminishing returns.
How big can the Tarkov stash get?
From the hideout, a Standard stash reaches 10x68 at level 4. The wiki table lists 10x72 as the largest, for The Unheard edition.
How long does a full Bitcoin Farm take to build?
The three levels add up to 7 days 22 hours of build time (1 day 10 hours, 2 days 2 hours and 4 days 10 hours), not counting the time to collect the items.
