How exotics drop

An Exotic Cache holds one random exotic from the pool available at the time it is opened.
Seasonal or newly added exotics may not enter the cache table until a patch adds them.
Countdown is the steadiest source of the caches: 224 Countdown Requisition Tokens buy one at the station, roughly every second run.

Options on this lot

Select Your Deal: five fixed deals, from 3 + 1 up to 10 + 5 exotics.

Other cache sources

Certain main missions and Incursions on their highest difficulty also reward an Exotic Cache, though less often than Countdown farming. Weekly or seasonal challenges sometimes add one as a bonus reward.

Requirements

The level 40 cap reached on the target Agent.
Free inventory space for the exotics that drop.

Free Random Exotics FAQ

Can I choose which exotics I get?

No. They are random, from the general exotic pool. For a particular exotic there are separate lots.

What does 5 + 2 mean?

Seven random exotics in total: the deal adds two to the five you order.

What can a random exotic be?

Any item of the general pool: a weapon, for example Chatterbox, Lady Death or Pestilence, or an armor piece, for example Memento, Ridgeway's Pride or Coyote's Mask.

What is Countdown?

An 8-player endgame mode released on 13 September 2022, in which two groups of four race the clock at the Pentco Fairview Power Plant.
