A PvE build in The Division 2 is a matched set: a gear set or exotic that gives the main talent, weapons that use it, and the mods, skills and attribute rolls that keep it running. The builds in this section are sold as ready loadouts, so the pieces arrive together on your Agent. Fifteen builds are listed, from a general solo loadout to builds around one exotic.
What you can buy here
- Best Solo Build: Seven gear set builds or a Custom Build
- Striker PvE Build: Exotic AR St. Elmo's Engine plus Striker set
- Hunter's Fury PvE Build: Hunter's Fury set with exotic SMG Chatterbox
- Tinkerer's PvE Build: Exotic mask Tinkerer: copy a talent
- Ongoing Directive Build: Ongoing Directive set: status effects
Builds around gear sets
- Striker PvE Build: Striker's Battlegear stacks total weapon damage on weapon hits, so it favors automatic weapons that keep hitting.
- Hunter's Fury PvE Build: a close-combat set with shotgun and submachine gun bonuses and the Apex Predator talent, which debuffs enemies within fifteen meters.
- Tipping Scales Build: the LMG set of Year 7 Season 2, whose Throttle Control talent builds stacks of weapon handling and critical hit damage while you keep shooting.
- Ongoing Directive Build: its talent Rules of Engagement marks status-affected enemies and pays out hollow-point ammo that applies bleed.
- Eclipse Status Effect Build: Eclipse Protocol spreads your status effects to enemies within ten meters when you kill.
- Negotiator's PvE Build: Negotiator's Dilemma is a critical-hit set that marks enemies and shares damage between marked targets.
- Skill Damage Build: for Agents whose damage comes from skills and not from weapons.
Builds around exotics
- Ouroboros Build: the submachine gun of the Paradise Lost Incursion, which fires around 1,400 rounds per minute.
- Eagle Bearer Build: the Military P416 variant with the Eagle's Strike and Tenacity talents.
- Regulus Build: a revolver-style exotic pistol with the Regicide talent and a hundred percent headshot modifier.
- Tempest Build: the full-auto pistol of The Pact.
- Caduceus Build: the healing rifle of Into the Dark.
- Tinkerer's PvE Build: the mask that lends the secondary weapon's talent to the primary, built with two weapons of one type.
- Backfire + Hazard Pro. Build: the Backfire submachine gun with Payment in Kind, which works best when hazard protection is maxed so the bleed it causes does no damage to you.
Best Solo Build is the general entry: pick one of seven builds, or send a video of your own.
What a build order contains
Each lot lists what is included: the exotic or gear set, the weapons that match it, mods and skills. You can tick the parts you already own to reduce the work. A High-Stat option raises the attributes of the gear to a high roll, and the Upgrade to Prototype option converts the pieces to Prototype quality, the tier above High-End that has one Augment per piece and a higher stat ceiling. Prototype conversion needs each piece at level 40 and at maximum Expertise, which is level 30, and a Prototype Core for each piece.
Where PvE builds earn their keep
Builds are most noticeable in the harder activities: Heroic and Legendary strongholds, Countdown, The Summit and Escalation, where the new Prototype drops come from. Note that in Raids and the Incursion, Prototype stats are normalized to the lower end and Augments are off, so a build planned for those modes should not lean on Prototype extras. The Raid Builds section covers role setups for raids, and Gear Sets lists the sets one by one.
Do I need to own the exotic for an exotic build?
Many builds include the exotic, and the lot says so. Where you already own a piece, tick it in the order form so it is not farmed again.
What is the difference between a gear set build and an exotic build?
A gear set build is organised around the four-piece talent of one set. An exotic build is organised around one weapon or armor piece and fills the rest of the loadout to support it.
Are gear set values fixed?
No. Gear set and talent values are retuned in Title Updates, so a build is assembled from the current version of the game when the order is placed.
Can I order a build that is not listed?
Best Solo Build has a Custom Build option, in which you send the video of the build you want and the team agrees the details in chat.
Do Prototype pieces work in raids?
Prototype gear can be worn, but its Augments are disabled and its stats drop to the lower end of the range in Raids and the Incursion.
