How the pieces fit together

Backfire is a SIG MPX variant with the talent Payment in Kind: every damaging hit adds a stack of critical hit damage that lasts a short time, and each reload applies a bleed to yourself that deals armor damage for each stack. The price of the bonus is the bleed, so the build puts Hazard Protection on the armor to reduce it.

NinjaBike's Resourceful talent counts toward gear set bonuses, which lets the build keep full Striker's Battlegear bonuses with one slot used for a different item.

What you get

The Backfire exotic SMG and Striker pieces with Hazard Protection and crit attributes.
A Česká Výroba chest with Obliterate, a NinjaBike backpack, Cavalier holster and mods for crit damage.

Core Stats chooses Weapon Damage (red) or Armor (blue) for the cores.
'I have Backfire' and 'I have NinjaBike Backpack' remove those items from the order if they are already yours.
The upgrade group lists None, 'High-Stat Armor (95%)' (armor and mods rolled at 95% or higher) and 'Upgrade Gear to Prototype', the newest item quality.

Backfire + Hazard Pro. Build: quick FAQ

Why is hazard protection needed?

Backfire makes you bleed for each stack when you reload. Hazard Protection reduces that damage, so you can keep stacks without losing armor.

How high can the critical damage stack?

The talent adds a stack for each damaging hit, up to a high cap, and the stacks expire if you stop hitting for a few seconds.
