Lady Death is an exotic submachine gun in The Division 2, a version of the CMMG Banshee that came with Title Update 8 and the Warlords of New York expansion. Its talent, Breathe Free, turns movement into damage: you build stacks by walking and sprinting, and each round you fire spends a stack for amplified damage. A kill grants a short movement speed bonus on top. The CMMG Banshee base is a fast-firing submachine gun, which suits a playstyle that keeps the trigger down while sprinting between positions.

How Breathe Free plays

Stacks come faster while sprinting than while walking, and they are consumed by firing, so Lady Death rewards weaving through a fight rather than standing still. After a kill you gain extra movement speed for a short time, which feeds the next round of stacks.

The Y8S3.2 title update changed how speed sources combine: the movement speed bonuses from Quickstep, Acosta's Kneepads and Lady Death now stack additively and are capped at 20%. Players who run several speed sources get the cap rather than a multiplied total.

FAQ: Lady Death

Does the weapon come with fixed mods?

Yes. Like every exotic weapon it has permanent unique mods, including a boost to critical hit chance and a large melee damage bonus.

Do I have to keep moving?

The damage bonus depends on stacks gained from movement, so a stationary Agent has a weak Lady Death. Moving between cover keeps the stacks high.

Where does it drop in the game?

From enemies, weapon chests, Exotic Caches and targeted loot for submachine guns; it arrived with Title Update 8 and the Warlords of New York expansion.
