Shroud is an exotic marksman rifle in The Division 2, a variant of the M700 Carbon that arrived with The Pact in Year 7 Season 2. Its talent, High Priority Target, amplifies weapon damage against the highest-ranking enemies in combat by 125%. It is the counterpart of the Overdogs gloves, which do the same for the lowest ranks. Note that Shroud is an exotic, not a named weapon.

How High Priority Target ranks enemies

The talent reads the enemy hierarchy. Tier 1 holds Hunters, Rogues, leaders, Tanks, shields, heavy-weapon users, RPG carriers, medics, controllers, Warhounds and Marauders; Tier 2 holds Support, Engineers, Bodyguards, Immobilizers, Bombers, Mini Tanks and Drone Operators; everything else is Tier 3. The 125% amplification goes to the highest tier that is still alive in the fight, so once the Tier 1 targets are down it moves on to Tier 2.

That makes Shroud a sniper's tool for removing the most dangerous enemies first, such as Hunters and Rogue Agents, very quickly.

FAQ: Shroud

Is Shroud a named or an exotic weapon?

An exotic. It has its own unique talent and permanent mods; named weapons such as Instigator are High-End items with a perfect talent instead.

How does it differ from Overdogs?

Shroud boosts damage to the highest-ranking enemies, while the Overdogs gloves boost damage to the lowest-ranking ones, so the two cover opposite ends of the same hierarchy.
