Tinkerer is an exotic mask added in Year 7 Season 1: Crossroads and based on the AlphaBridge gear set of the first Division. Its talent, Abridged, lends the talent of your secondary weapon to the primary weapon when both are of one type and neither is exotic or Named. It rolls weapon damage (up to 15%), critical hit damage (12%) and critical hit chance (6%).

Key facts

Item	Tinkerer, exotic mask
Talent	Abridged: when both weapons are of one type and neither is exotic or Named, the secondary's talent also works on the primary; talents that depend on weapon swapping are excluded
Attributes	Weapon damage (15% max), critical hit damage (12% max), critical hit chance (6% max)
Added in	Year 7 Season 1: Crossroads, Manhunt Climax Mission
Drop sources	Crossroads Manhunt Climax Mission (first Master clear drops it for sure, any difficulty can drop it); earlier also the Rise Up Stretch Goal caches (June 2026) and the Dust Storm Gear Caches (July to August 2026)

Abridged and its limits

Both weapons must be of the same type, for example two assault rifles.
Neither weapon may be exotic or Named.
Talents that involve weapon swapping are not copied.

Where it comes from

The Crossroads Manhunt Climax Mission drops Tinkerer for sure on the first clear on Master difficulty, and any difficulty gives a chance. The mask was also among the rare exclusive exotics of the Rise Up Stretch Goal caches (June 2026) and in the 15% exotic group of the Dust Storm Gear Caches (21 July to 11 August 2026). Red Horizon fixed a bug that let Abridged work across different weapon types.

Requirements

A character at the 40 level cap, on PC, PlayStation or Xbox.

Tinkerers Mask FAQ

Why would I copy a secondary talent?

A good talent on the second weapon, such as a damage-stacking one, also works on the primary, so a build can run a single strong talent twice.

Does it work with an exotic primary?

No. The talent only applies when neither weapon is exotic or Named.

What is a good pairing for Abridged?

Two weapons of one type, for instance two assault rifles, where the secondary has the talent you want on both. Neither may be exotic or Named.

Which game did the AlphaBridge set come from?

The first Division, whose AlphaBridge gear set inspired this talent.
