The Butcher Lair Boss Kill - Diablo 4

• His first phase mixes melee with Hooked!, a hook throw that drags you to him, a three-hit combo that fires five fireballs and leaves trails of fire, a knockback charge and ground pounding that rains fire across the room.
• The Floor Is Lava sets sections of the arena alight in an anti-clockwise order; more sections burn as his life drops, and the pattern pauses while he is Staggered.
• Each time he loses a third of his life he moves to the centre, turns Immune and spins five fire beams with gaps you can walk through.
• He deals Fire and Physical damage. Patch 3.0.2 (13 May 2026) fixed his Lair version having far more life and hazard damage than intended.

• His weighted pool includes The Butcher's Cleaver for several classes, Mace of King Leoric for Necromancers, Ramaladni's Magnum Opus for Barbarians and Emberfury for Sorcerers.
• Fresh Meat is his Boss Trophy; the Horadric Cube converts it into one of his Uniques, with a small chance of Mythic quality.
• With the Lair of Runes modifier his extra Runes are Qua, Que and Vex.

• A level 70 character on the realm and mode you select.
• The chosen Torment tier unlocked; no Lair Boss can be fought below Torment I.

Is this the Butcher who ambushes players in dungeons?

No. The roaming Butcher can still turn up in dungeons and Infernal Hordes. This order covers his Lair Boss fight in The Broiler, which ends with a Hoard.

Where do Greater Lair Keys come from in the game?

Initiate Lair Bosses such as Urivar and Varshan drop them. You do not need your own for this order.
