Surge Rifle

Perfect Spike links the rifle to skill builds. Headshots grant a skill damage bonus for a short time, so a player who fires a drone, turret or seeker mine can raise its damage by shooting accurately. The LVOA-C is a semi-automatic rifle, which keeps a rhythm of single headshots practical. Capacitor and other skill-damage builds can add the bonus on top of what they already stack.

Spike is what an ordinary weapon rolls, while Perfect Spike is the upgraded form that only named items carry.

• Attribute rolls at 90% or higher of the possible maximum are what 'High Stats (90%+)' stands for.
• 'Upgrade to Prototype' is the step beyond High-End: a Prototype weapon carries an Augment and is final in terms of recalibration.
• In the Extras group you can add 'Self-play (Sherpa)' to the order.
• Quantity goes from 1 to 10, so several copies fit into one order.

• A character that has reached level 40.
• For 'Upgrade to Prototype': the weapon must be at level 40 and at maximum Expertise (level 30).

Does the bonus affect weapon damage?

No. It raises skill damage, so it matters when a skill, not your gun, does the killing.

What kind of builds use it?

Skill-damage builds, for example the Capacitor with a Striker Drone or Assault Turret, where headshots with the rifle are a second source of damage.

How is Surge found in the game?

Look for it among enemy drops, vendor stock and weapon chests, or farm an activity whose targeted loot is rifles.
