Brutus Marksman Rifle

Brutus is a bolt-action M700 Carbon with Perfectly Behind You, so its shots against enemies that are not targeting you hit harder. It is the sniper-flavoured relative of the exotic Mantis, but without Mantis's headshot refresh or enemy-intent display, so you have to judge enemy attention yourself. Allies and Decoys are the usual way to keep enemies pointed at someone else.

There is no random talent roll here: Perfectly Behind You is part of Brutus from the moment it drops.

• Brutus added to your Agent on PC, PlayStation or Xbox, depending on the platform you select.
• Method options: Piloted, or Self-play (Sherpa) if you want to play along.
• 'High Stats (90%+)' means the item should roll its attributes at 90% of the maximum or above.
• Choosing 'Upgrade to Prototype' puts the weapon into Prototype quality, the newest item tier, introduced with Rise Up.
• You can order from one to ten copies at once with the Quantity option.

• An Agent at level 40, the level the game asks for end-game gear.
• Expertise level 30, needed only when 'Upgrade to Prototype' is selected.

Is it related to the exotic Mantis?

Both reward staying unnoticed, but Brutus is a High-End named rifle with a single talent, while Mantis is an exotic with several mechanics.

What is the best target for it?

Enemies engaged with a teammate or a Decoy: they are not targeting you, so the bonus is active while you shoot.

Where does Brutus drop?

Enemies, vendors and weapon chests all carry it, and marksman rifle targeted loot can roll it as well.
