Combat in Elder Scrolls Online starts with a choice between a quick tap and a held button, and the A-Z list below explains the words players use for each step. Heavy Attack is the attack you charge by holding the attack button. It costs no Magicka or Stamina, and when fully charged it restores Magicka with a staff or Stamina with other weapons.

Skills come in three types: Passive Skills give a bonus all the time, Active Skills are what you slot on the action bar, and Ultimate Skills spend a separate resource that builds up as you fight.
