Urivar is an Initiate Lair Boss of Nahantu, the Vessel of Hatred region: he holds the Fields of Judgement west of the Kichuk waypoint and fights with fire, spears and his Knights Penitent. Every kill in this order ends at his Hoard, which opens with one Lair Key, and the keys for all ordered kills are included. His kills also drop Greater Lair Keys, and since patch 3.2.1 Initiate bosses roll Mythic Uniques as often as the Greater tier.

How the fight goes

  • Rain of Justice drops a trail of spears where you stand; Unleash Justice latches onto you, slows you and hurls his swords from those spears.
  • Overhead Strike sets the ground in front of him on fire, and Desperate Prayer calls eight spears that pulse once and fly back to him.
  • After he loses a third of his life he vanishes, and Knights Penitent join three at a time, each with one Elite affix.
  • At random intervals the knights around the arena send lines of fire across it.

What the Hoard holds

  • His pool includes Windforce for Rogues, Flamescar for Sorcerers, Will of Rathma for Necromancers and The Grandfather for several classes.
  • Judicator's Mask is his Boss Trophy, used in the Horadric Cube to make one of his Uniques.
  • Besides gear he drops Greater Lair Keys and, rarely, a Superior Lair Key; Lair of Runes adds Tzic, Mot and Yul.

Requirements

  • A level 70 Seasonal character, as the lot offers Season Softcore and Season Hardcore.
  • The ordered Torment tier unlocked; Lair Bosses start at Torment I.

Why farm an Initiate boss?

Besides his own Uniques, Urivar feeds the rest of the ladder: his kills drop Greater Lair Keys for Duriel, Andariel, the Butcher and Harbinger of Hatred.

Which damage should I prepare for?

Fire. Armor and Fire Resistance help against his burning ground and the knights' flame lines.
