Angelbreath is the rare herb of Diablo 4, a crafting material that the Alchemist used for potion upgrades, Elixirs and Incense. The game moved away from it in two steps: patch 2.5.0 turned the Healing Potion into a flat heal with no upgrades, and the Lord of Hatred expansion (April 2026) removed Elixirs and Incense from Seasonal realms. Please read the notes below before you pick an amount.

Key facts

Item type	Angelbreath, a rare crafting material (herb)
Former uses	Healing Potion upgrades and the stronger Elixir and Incense recipes at the Alchemist, next to Bundled Herbs
Potion change	Patch 2.5.0: the Healing Potion became a flat heal of 35% of maximum Life and lost its upgrade tiers
Elixirs and Incense	Removed from Seasonal realms with the Lord of Hatred expansion (April 2026): they can no longer be found, crafted or used there
Eternal realm	One Elixir (Elixir of Iron Barbs) and one Incense (Storm of the Wilds) remain
Herb nodes	Since Lord of Hatred every herb node except Angelbreath gives Veiled Crystals
Listed sources	Tortured Gifts in Helltide; cache rewards from the Tree of Whispers

What Angelbreath was used for

Potion upgrades: herbs once raised the tier of your Healing Potion. Since patch 2.5.0 a potion heals 35% of your maximum Life at once and has no upgrade tiers left.
Elixirs and Incense: the stronger Alchemist recipes asked for Angelbreath next to Bundled Herbs. Since Lord of Hatred these consumables can no longer be found, crafted or used on Seasonal characters.
Eternal realm: one Elixir, the Elixir of Iron Barbs, and one Incense, Storm of the Wilds, are still in the game there.

Where the herb still comes from

Since Lord of Hatred, looting any herb node except Angelbreath gives Veiled Crystals, so Angelbreath nodes are the ones that still yield a herb. The item itself lists Tortured Gifts in Helltide and cache rewards from the Tree of Whispers as its sources.

Angelbreath FAQ

Can I still brew Elixirs on a Seasonal character?

No. Since Lord of Hatred, Elixirs and Incense cannot be found, crafted or used on Seasonal realms.

Do Healing Potions still need herbs?

No. Since patch 2.5.0 the potion is a fixed heal, and the upgrade path that consumed herbs was removed.
